The cottage is an old rustic fisherman's cottage with 3 double bedrooms & two bathrooms (one of which is upstairs) across 3 floors, with a lovely private courtyard garden, and it is about 30 secs from the lovely independent shops and restaurants of Whitstable and a minute from the sea & beach!
The interior is filled with a quirky mix of vintage & french boho furniture and there are the original wooden floorboards throughout the cottage. The sitting room has two large, comfy vintage sofas that will seat 6 people easily and the adjacent dining room has a dining room table which seats 6 people comfortably and there is also a lovely large real open fire for cosy winter nights.

In the garden, we have a outdoor kitchen with BBQ and a table & chairs for outside dining for up to 8 people. We also have a chiminea in the garden for those evenings that turn a bit chilly.
The kitchen is stocked with fresh herbs from our garden, plus other dried herbs & spices, coffee, tea, sugar, and further cooking condiments, and the kitchen is well equipped with most things for those that wish to cook - hence the name of the cottage, as the kitchen has been built by a specialist carpenter and stocked with cooking utensils & condiments for those people like us that love to cook!
For home entertainment we have lots of vinyl records and a lovely working radiogram for guests to play records on, a digital JAMbox, lots of books, games, and two TVs with Sky and Netflix etc. Plus there is the cinema projector and screen in the summerhouse that guests are welcome to use to and watch our extensive DVD film collection or Netflix etc.

We had a lovely mid-week winter stay. Perfect location for town-life & sea walks.Cottage is cosy & charming with lots of considerate, clever & homely touches. Helpful & accurate information/ presentation of property from the owners. Very impressed with Whitstable too!

Lovely property with everything you need and chic vintage style which we loved. Perfect for us, our grown up children and dog! Perfect location. Stairs are very steep so would not be good for anyone who struggles with stairs as the host does point out!

Lovely house. Quirky as expected. Everything we required. Great location for walking around Whitstable and the nearby coastline. Hosts quick to answer any questions. Would recommend.

A charming holiday home in the centre of Whitstable
Another great stay at Cooks Cottage - a special place in a central location which was ideal for access to shopping, cycling and water sports activities. The cottage was clean and tidy, with plenty of charming features, including a vinyl record player and private outdoor seating for relaxed family dinners.

Unfortunately the interior of the cottage did not live up to the photos that advertised the property.
We were given 2 days notice that the house next door was having minor building works done. A complete refurb and rear extension is more than minor works.
This meant we could not use the garden during the day. Although we do not blame the owners for the building work but we would of appreciated more notice as we would have found somewhere else. As you can appreciate you go on holiday to get away and relax but we felt we couldn’t do that there.

Fantastic location, disappointing property.

Simply perfect
The perfect staycation. The photos don’t show just how beautiful and amazing this property is. 3 good double sized bedroom which ensure everyone feels like they have a beautiful room. Selina gave us great suggestions on where would be open for food and drinks and was quick to respond if I ever messaged with a question
The location of this property ensures that once you arrive you can truly hang the car keys up and just enjoy your stay. Everywhere is in walking distance.
Thank you for opening up this beautiful property for people to have the best holidays.

Perfect cottage
Location was excellent and very close to the town and beach. It was a short walk from the station also. The cottage had absolutely everything we needed and was super cosy. Check in and out was smooth and we’ll definitely come again!

The property was in a good location but the exterior was disappointing, the cottage was shabby chic with nice bedrooms but the kitchen and bathrooms had far too much clutter. The garden needed some TLC. It was however value for money. We enjoyed Whitstable and the restaurant recommendations were very helpful. Thank you

Thanks for a lovely stay. A comfortable and well equipped home - great location for our holiday in Whitstable. We especially enjoyed the record player :-) Parking outside was limited, but we managed.

A cosy and comfortable cottage in a fantastic location.

Gorgeous property really well located for everythung!
We stayed (myself and my husband, our 1 & 3 year olds and my parents) in Cook's Cottage for a week and had the best time! It couldn't be better located for access to the shops, restaurants or the beach. Even with a laden buggy and kids the beach was a 3-4 minute walk away (it would be 2 mins without kids!). It's a beautifully decorated house, so many pretty things (but all robust if you've got little ones) and comfy beds and lovely linen. The kitchen is really well equipped and the bathrooms have generous toiletries. The 2 bathrooms (one with a bath downstairs and one with a shower on the first floor) are perfect for the size of house and the yard is a great size for bbqs, evening drinks and for kids to play in. Selina was really quick to answer any questions and Sarah who looks after the property was too, really accommodating. Most places are open again in town and there's a lovely buzz. We would definitely stay at the Cottage again and hope to be back in the not too distant future.

Cosy cottage
We had a wonderful stay in this lovely little cottage. The cottage had everything we needed (including baby gates) and was seconds away from the high street.
Particularly loved the bathtub and the variety of toiletries.

Fantastic location, very close to the harbour, restaurants and shops.
Lovely quirky property. Ideal for a family get together. Three good sized bedrooms and plenty of room to socialise both inside and out. Sarah and Chris who manage the property are excellent to deal with.

Lovely place to stay
We had a very enjoyable stay at Cooks Cottage. The house is so close to the great independent shops and just a minute or two to the beach. The beds were extremely comfortable and the house was very homely. We were so pleased to find somewhere where we could bring the dog and the baby! Looking forward to visiting again in the future. Chris and Sarah who look after the property were very friendly and the house was lovely and clean. Definitely recommend it.

Birthday weekend - 12th to 15th January
Had a fantastic weekend at The Cooks Cottage, everything was simple from the booking, checking in and checking out.
The cottage is beautiful and in a great location, close to the beach, local shops, restaurants and pubs.
This was a surprise weekend for my Wife's 50th and we stayed with our two grown up children and partners, so 6 of us in total. Plenty of room to sit and relax in the living room, eat, play games, listen to records and sit by the open fire in the dining room and cook breakfasts with local fare from the numerous shops (E17 was cool) in the well equipped kitchen.
The bedrooms were a good size and the beds very comfortable all served by an adequate shower room and toilet of the first floor (the master bed is on the 2nd floor). There is a cracking bathroom on the ground floor with a great bathtub.
Plenty of cups, glasses and kitchenware and everything else you would need for a relaxing break.
Whitstable is lovely, great walks, beach and harbour a stones throw away. Loved the Old Neptune right on the beach and we ate at The Sportsman and Birdies (who accommodated 18 of us and a dog on the Saturday night).
Looking forward to our next visit, thanks for helping to make the weekend an unforgettable one!

Quirky, comfortable, great location.
We really enjoyed staying here. A comfortable and sociable space. Even though we were only 20 paces from cafes and shops we did actually cook! The beds were very cosy and snug for our winter getaway. Owners/caretakers could not have been more friendly and helpful. Thank you.

Location to die for
Cooks Cottage with 2 seconds to High Street, 2 mins to beach, and 10 seconds to great pub has the best location. Garden is a beautiful sun trap.

We will be coming back ! Delightful cottage in an excellent location.
We were five adults and two small children and we all had a wonderful time. The cottage is exactly as described and we loved it. The location is perfect, we parked the cars up and didn't use them again until we left. You are a stones throw from all the shops and restaurants and five minutes away from the beach and harbour. The ice cream parlour just around the corner was a big hit with adults and children alike. Our youngest son is a chef and was producing delicious food for us all from the cottage's quirky kitchen. If I haven't awarded the cottage five stars it is only because there was no dishwasher ! A BBQ is provided in the courtyard garden where we sat outside every evening.
The bedrooms are lovely and I think I slept in the most comfortable bed ever ! There is a lovely old fashioned bathroom downstairs that the children loved - huge deep bath and loads of toiletries left for us to use.
Be warned, the stairs are very steep so we did have to be vigilant with the youngest member of our group who kept making a beeline towards them whenever possible. Lack of dishwasher aside, we had a wonderful time at this lovely cottage and would heartily recommend it.

A comfy cottage in a great location
We had a great weekend in this cottage. It's centrally located near to shops, pubs and the harbour. We had 2 cars between us and the small street near the centre of town meant that we could only find parking for one but there were a number of car parks near by. The house is bigger than the photos suggest, it's worth knowing that the shower room has a loo so you don't have to go all the way downstairs in the night! The stairs are pretty steep but it's part of the charm of this place. It's great to find somewhere we could bring our dogs without any hassle. Thank you

we loved every minute of our stay here!
had such a good time - the cottage was perfect for us and the two couples we stayed with, it is situated just off the town centre but far enough away not to to woken by any town centre noise - 3 lovely double beds made sure you had a good nights sleep, the cottage is well furnished with the shabby chic look (as shown in the photos) without being overdone, it was lovely and clean and Selina (the owner) had supplied us with enough information to last a couple of weeks instead of the 5 days we were staying - highlights for us was the fantastic record collection and the lovely open fire, the kitchen was well stocked but i have to confess we ate out most of the time - my favs here was the Neptune and the Lobster Shack, good food with a view, we got the bus in to Canterbury (defiantly worth a visit) and generally mooched around a town that has retained lots of those lovely independent shops that most high streets have now lost, I can fully recommend this to others!

Perfect birthday weekend
Six friends came to Whitstable for the weekend to celebrate an important birthday. The cottage was ideally located and equipped - I was especially pleased to find champagne glasses!
We loved the gramophone player and the vinyl records, the old radio and the roll top bath. The beds were so comfortable, and the heating was really efficient.
We hired bikes from the man immediately opposite the cottage and enjoyed a cycle ride to Reculver and back so we deserved our meal at the Sportsman that night.
Weather was glorious for September, and for a first visit to Whitstable, we couldn't have asked for better.
Thank you so much.
