Beautiful villa with spacious rooms, ample amenities, and a great location near the beach. Enjoyed the BBQ area, pool, and pool table. Excellent for big groups and family gatherings.

The house was nothing like the description on the website. It was dirty, cockroach invested, A/C not working, very difficult to get hold the host. VRBO were aware of our problems and did very little to help us. I felt that I have spent most of the week trying to contact either VRBO or the host, rather than relaxing and enjoying an expensive birthday celebration. This was described as a luxury villa but it fell well short of our expectations. It is surrounded by construction work which starts some days at 6.15am so is noisy, dusty and not peaceful at all.

We chose this high end villa for a few reasons as there where three big birthdays.
The location was perfect but we where greeted with a build being built next door and a development a short way up the road. When checking In the attitude of host was oh they’ll be no work done next week as a Spanish holiday, maybe or just wagons. The dipping tub on the top floor was empty again the host said oh well we are having a referb in September! This was one of the reasons we chose the property. There were lots of small issues with the property which they came out and short fixed two. Outside needed a good hose down as the bust from the building work made everything dirty. .not sure if the pool guy did this. We brushed and cleaned tables each day. I was asked to make a list of faults which I have and will forward onto host.

Big nice house with great view and lot of space.
The pictures did not lie. But lots of noise from the house they where building next door.
Very nice and service minded host Selene.

A large villa located in a nice area with view over the sea and convenient with grocery shop within walking distance. The layout of the house was really good with distributed bedrooms having their own connected bathrooms. Common areas like kitchen, livingroom and dining area in an open layout worked well for a big family (14 persons) with children and grandchildren. The outdoor area was really nice with pool and a barbeque facility and connected seating for dining under roof .
Our criticism lays with the lack of finish! With the price level we paid and the reference I have from earlier renting a villa, and hotels in general, it's absolutely not good enough, which is a pity because the villa has all the potential to be perfect.
Let me give a couple of examples to make it more tangible:
- When we arrived (Saturday) we concluded in the evening that the air-condition in two of the bedrooms didn't work. It wasn't solved until evening on Monday, meaning we had two very warm nights for families with small children. If it would have been checked before our arrival, it could have been fixed before our arrival.
- In an attempt to make the air-condition to work (Saturday evening), I cleaned the filters and it was the most dirty filters I've ever seen!
- The cleaning of the house was absolutely not ok. In some areas it was really dirty and we could find hair from other people in the bathrooms, not nice at all. I reported the situation to the landlord and said that she needs to give feedback to the third party service provider.
- The oven in the kitchen is worn out an needs to be changed! We had a professional catering company coming to the villa two evenings during the week and they had a lot of struggle to get it to work and arrange our food.
Then, it's this other small things that irritates and take down the impression; like not enough towels for all of us at the pool side, like the mix of glasses not being able to have the same (wine) glasses for all, like small ants crawling around in the corners, like finding bed linen with brown stains in a bed, like some of the interiors having scratches, like having an old refrigerator standing nearby the entrance door to the villa (exchanged to a new one). How hard can it be to transport the old refrigerator away when being exchanged?
What I want to illustrate is that there is a fantastic villa that could have been "top notch" if only being properly maintained, looked after and cleaned to expectations.

overall an excellent holiday. Villa is perfect for large groups. Great location, literally a ten minute walk from the town and beach.
Would of been nice to have a few more sun loungers as there were only ten for a group of 15.
Would recommend

Broken large American fridge, never replaced. Despite telling owner/manager, we were expected to make do with a very small fridge in a downstairs utility, no where near the kitchen. It was too small to store sufficiently for the 12 of us, and was inconveniently too far away.
Broken oven, element hanging loose. We never used it as a result.
Broken drinks fridge in kitchen, electrical fault. It was replaced about towards the end of our holiday.
Pool table full of cobwebs
Owner not returning calls when we identified the above

This villa was beautiful and we will definitely be back.
Selena who was our contact couldn't do enough to help us, she even brought us some essentials to start us off before we had chance to go to the supermarket.
We had a fabulous holiday in a fabulous villa!

Villa was exactly as shown on website and there was plenty of space for all 10 of us to spread out or congregate at the pool to chill or at the open sided cabana for lunch. The local supermarket(Mercadona) is clean, well stocked and staf are friendly - it is at the bottom of the hill so be careful if you buy too much wine that (unless you have a car) you will have to carry it up the hill, but at least when you get to the villa you can reward yourself with the wine.
Villa was clean and ready when we arrived but there was no food starter pack. It took a couple of hours to sort this out. That did not spoil our holiday and I would certainly recommend the villa for a large group.

We were delighted with this villa which was large and spacious enough to accommodate our family group of 13. Everyone loved having their own room and ensuite and there were so many different seating areas that we didn’t feel on top of each other.
The villa is beautifully furnished and equipped with lots of extras for guests to enjoy eg. BBQ area, pool, hot tubs, sauna, pool table and we also hired a table tennis table. One evening we enjoyed a great BBQ arranged through the company.
The villa is situated uphill which gives a partial sea view from the terrace. It may not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues as there are several flights of steps and it is an uphill walk back to the villa from La Cala town. The beach and main restaurants are a 15 minutes walk although there are some shops and restaurants which are closer. The Ole restaurant is just at the end of the street and very good value. The Mercadona supermarket is within walking distance but I would recommend having a car for this property.
All in all we had a great holiday.

Fabulous Villa - Selene was so helpful - the pool was chilly but he temp was turned up not too long after we requested,We did have a leak in one of the bathrooms and the plumbers were sent in straight away - it couldnt be fixed but at least it was checked and plans made. The jacuzzi' s were fabulous as was the sauna - all the furniture including the beds were to a high standard - crockery glasses and cutlery again in abundance the bbq area is great and the views of the sea lovely (please note if you are hard of walking in order to get the view you are up a hill) - this didn't cause us much issues as everything is so close we just put my elderly mother in a taxiWould lovely to stay again one day!

Great villa. We like our luxury holidays and we’re quite fussy. Everything about the villa was fabulous and where there were normal small maintenance issues Selene and the team (which is a family business working hard and who really care about their villas) dealt with them quickly and bent over backwards to help us including turning the villa around really quickly to get us in early. Great communication before and during the holiday. All the bedrooms were luxury no need for family fighting over the best room (other than the two master suites which were super luxury and we had already bagged!). The living areas were great for lovely family gatherings and relaxation and the whole place was spotlessly clean. We had grandparents, parents, kids, cousins, boyfriends and la Cala de mijas and this beautiful villa worked for everyone. We had Elle (also part of the family) for the breakfast and tidy service on three days and she was the ultimate professional laying out and tidying away a beautifull spread and catering to our every need. We also used the team to organise transfers, a chef for BBQ and charter of catermaran all brilliant and very special experiences. Thanks for a great family holiday. We will be back. Great location and we walked to town would recommend the little geranium and olé. Great inflatable assault course in the sea equally as fun for kids, teens and adventurous adults. Mijas village in hills worth a visit and meal.

Appalling customer service! Firstly when we arrived our first impressions of the rep El who showed us to the villa was not helpful or friendly and made us feel we had put her out as we arrived 15 mins early. Asked for the handbook to which El response ‘probably here somewhere’. Left to search for this which we never did find. The table tennis we had requested was nowhere to be seen and was advised by El that this would be with us shortly - it never did. We also asked before travelling that we would need travel cots, again were not easily visible and after searching for these they were eventually found hidden in a cupboard. They were unacceptable & were in no state for children. No mattress’s nor was there any linen provided. We had no choice but to lay towels in them. Tried calling the company but no answer. I understand it was a Sunday but considering this is a rented villa it should be a 7 day service for travellers in case of any problems whilst you stay. No response on the Sunday we tried again Monday. After trying to speak amicable to Manager Rennie on the phone he arrived at the villa being very aggressive, confrontational and asking why we were calling his staff on a Sunday. I cannot believe what we were seeing and hearing and for one of my family members to be told he was ‘ throwing his toys out the pram’ is appalling. The table tennis which was promised never arrived until 2 days later to which another rep Selene advised us that she ‘doesn’t know why she even bothered with this as they are earning no money from it’ another comment from polite Rennie was ‘ if your main priority for staying at the villa was for a tennis table then you shouldn’t have stayed here’. If the table tennis was never available then why this offer? Had we known this would have been such an inconvenience for them then we would of never had requested it as we would of preferred to avoid the rude comments from the staff, such as what was left on the deposit note ‘ no money being earned as a good will gesture’. The back gate which we had asked to be fixed as we had young children in the Villa & also all our belongings was not fixed until the last day of our holiday. To say our experience of using Luxury Villas Marbella was a disappointment is an understatement. We had spent a lot to stay here and were told by the staff that this wasn’t a lot, does that mean we should of expected poor customer service? It may not have seemed a lot to them but I’m sure it would to many.

We stayed in Casa La Cala Spa for a week, we were a party of 11 adults and 4 kids. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely Celine who showed us around the villa and had purchased some groceries for us which was ideal after our early morning flight. The villa is centrally located close to the centre in La Cala so no need for car hire, we walked day and night. The villa is stunning and has everything you require and so much more. The hot tubs, sauna and barbecue house were a huge hit. The pool is a great size with the added benefit of separate toilet and showers. The gardens were lush with their lemon and lime trees. Pool was cleaned a couple of times during our stay. We have stayed in many large villas in the Costa Del Sol but so far this one is our favourite. For anyone considering booking Casa La Cala you will not be disappointed it is simply stunning. Celine was always on hand to help us if required. Thanks so much again for an amazing experience hope to come back real soon x
