About this villa rental
On a charming hillside, a few kilometres from the lively city of Perugia and the characteristic Etruscan town of Cortona, lies Villa sul Lago. The villa is a completely independent house with a wonderful view on the Lake Trasimeno. An excellent choice for those seeking peace and tranquillity. It has been made out of an ancient farmhouse and has been finely furnished and equipped with all comforts. On the ground floor one finds a spacious living room with a fireplace, satellite TV, a study room and a large dining room. The kitchen is made in cherry wood and antique hand painted tiles and is fitted with two dishwashers, a large fridge with freezer and an ice-cube maker. Adjacent to the kitchen a room with spacious storage room and both washing and drying machines. Under the staircase which leads up to the first floor there is a small bathroom. The first floor hosts 5 suites, each with ensuite bathroom (3 bathtubs and 2 showers) and each singularly decorated and handpainted with hues that recall the natural colours of lake Trasimeno and the surrounding olive trees. Here one also finds a cosy living area heated by an old Swedish stove in winter which opens to a panoramic veranda. On the second floor there is a beautiful parqueted mansard which hosts two double bedrooms with one bathroom and a spacious room which can be designated to reading and relaxing as well as to entertainment thanks to the big English snooker. The property also has central heating, safe, telephone, internet connection. Outside a large garden offers the villa's guests a splendid swimming pool with a view with shower and changing rooms. The garden also hosts a beautiful relaxing area around the swimming pool and a cooking area fully equipped to prepare a delicious barbecue or a tasty pizza in the wood burning oven.

Lovely old villa with fantastic veranda, garden, and pool area offering amazing views. Suitable for families with well-furnished rooms and good WiFi. Steep walk to town but worth it for the experience. Great for a family holiday!

Lovely family holiday in very specious old villa
The ground floor rooms are kept cooler with thick walls and so they are not bright, the upper rooms have air conditioning.
All areas are well furnished and kept.
WiFi was good
The fantastic veranda, garden and pool area is the place you spend all the day in , with the most amazing views of the lake and surrounding area.
The walk to and from the town is very steep, but if reasonably fit it’s 20 minutes down and 35 minutes back up good exercise.
For 10 of us it was great!
The aircon fee would be better included
Thank you so much

The property is characterful and well kept, and the outside space is a real joy. It perfectly suited our family group with children ranging from 6-15. Really liked the local town which is not particularly on the tourist map but has good local restaurants and a relaxed low key holiday feel.
Our only gripe is that, given the price point of the villa, it is a little disappointing to be charged extra at the end for using any air conditioning and also for basic cleaning. Why not just incorporate this in the hire charge? It’s also a pain to have to take 800 Euros in cash as a ‘damage deposit’ (not something we’ve had to do before anywhere) and seems rather pointless given that it is imposssible for the owners to inspect every piece of furniture and kitchen equipment before handing the deposit back (minus 200E for air conditioning and cleaning!).
Having said that, I am still giving five stars for the villa, which is a gem.
