This was an incredible property! Amazing security staff and property management, location was perfect for our group! I stayed after carnival and it was the perfect cool down.
Pool was beautiful. Early mornings were probably the best time of day, opened up the entire house with a cool breeze throughout!
The reviews about the hills are true they are pretty steep, we had NO issues driving up daily though.
Went down to the arnos vale beach and we were literally the only ones there.
All round great trip!

The view from Kapinjala is majestic. Beautiful greenery and mountainous regions are visible well into the distance. The beach is also in view. The bedrooms are sufficiently appointed, but we would have appreciated a place to eat indoors. There was no indoor dining table or chairs to eat at the kitchen bar. If you like A/C, the heat in the main living areas will become unbearable at times (even with the doors ajar and all fans on). And if you are a group of 5 or more, you will not be able to find drivers with vehicles large enough and with enough horsepower to make the ascent. For all trips to and from the villa, you will have to order 2 cars/SUVs or have a minibus posted at the bottom gate, using a sedan or SUV to shuttle your party between the gate and villa. Of serious concern, we were unable to reach property management (PM) when we returned one night and the gate was not opening. We attempted to call PM 18 times and left at least 16 voice messages and received no reply that evening. Because my oldest had not joined the outing, we were able to call him to have him alert the security guard of our predicament. The guard did not, however, know how to activate the manual override and was also unable to reach PM. He did, however, reach Dennis, the groundskeeper, who provided some guidance. As per Dennis' suggestions and the acuity of our family friend who was returning us to the villa, we were able to get one half of the gate open. Our friend then risked scratching his car by maneuvering his vehicle through the now narrowed opening. With my husband having an early flight the next morning, and no taxi service similarly willing to risk damage to their vehicle, my husband, with the assistance of my sons, had to make the trek down to the bottom gate by foot (~250m with my oldest carrying luggage of nearly 50 pounds on his head). I am sick with the thought of what would have happened if anyone in my family would have required medical attention during this period. PM reached us later that morning, indicating that she went to bed early and had left her phone charging outside of her bedroom. Unacceptable. She was able to coordinate a service call from a provider who could open the gate in full by midday but that then meant that the security protections for which we were paying were not now in full effect. The housekeeper, Deneesia, was however highly responsive to our distress calls and likely the reason we received initial return phone call from PM.

The pool is absolutely beautiful.. infinity pool on a hill that overlooks the ocean, it’s really spectacular and Much larger than I even thought based off the pictures, one half of the pool is deep maybe 12 feet and the other half is 4 feet I loved it and the jets in the jacuzzi work well. They come to clean the pool often. We stayed here in the humid month of August and unfortunately could not go outside at night at all on the balconies or pool because there were so many mosquitoes but in the day time it was totally fine. This villa is in a gorgeous setting and it’s truly beautiful with spectacular views from every balcony but it is alittle old and a good 20 minute drive from the nice beaches. I rented an SUV which I recommend over a regular car because at one point we did drive back in the pouring rain and the hill you have drive up to get to the villa gates is alittle steep. The security guard is so kind and friendly, he comes every night 6pm-12am. On the first evening I made the mistake of leaving the big doors that open to the pool open for alittle while cooking diner and I suddenly realized I allowed in hundreds of mosquitos. So the layout of the house is gorgeous but at least in the summer you can’t really leave the doors open meaning it will be hot in the living room and kitchen due to no AC and not being able to open up the windows/doors cause of bugs. The bedroom ACs worked well though and we kept the bedroom doors closed so that bugs wouldn’t make their way in there but at night i would still find 1-3 mosquitoes. So we didn’t even use the big beautiful balconies on the top floors, every door has sliding metal gates inside with keys, I’m used to using these types of doors with sliding locks but some people might be bothered with opening/re-locking them. But I’m still happy I chose to stay at this villa in Tobago because it’s so unique and secluded in a way that is so peaceful all you can hear is birds, beautiful plants all around you and and from the back of the house the views really can’t be beat. But besides the pool area the inside it’s not super luxurious, The bathrooms are nice but the towels leave lint on you and the water pressure was alittle low in showers and they were basic along with the furniture.. maybe they should put mosquito nets over the bed I would have slept better honestly. The living room is nice and kitchen pots were OK washer dryer dishwasher all worked. I enjoyed staying at this villa because it was an adventure

Absolute heaven
We have stayed at this villa 3 times now. The view and pool are amazing and the coveted patio is such a nice place to relax rain or shine. We’ve always had excellent communication and service with the staff.

Amazing views, perfect outdoors and super clean
We had a wonderful 6 days in the house. Kids and adults really enjoyed the swimming pool, probably the best that we have done in Tobago . The house has everything and is clean. The outdoor entertainment area is perfect and we would come back anytime .
Thank you for the stay

WOW! WOW! WOW! This is our second time here. Myself, my boyfriend, my sister & her boyfriend just couldn't have wished for a better holiday, again!
The house has EVERYTHING you could ever wish for a relaxing time. It's like a home from home but with an infinity pool and 28 degree heat!
There's plenty to explore on the island and a plethora of delicious local eateries, but who wants to leave such an amazing house in such a wonderful setting? Not me! We did venture out on a short walk to watch the sun set, which was topped off nicely by the engagement of my sister and her boyfriend! We couldn't have asked for a better setting and a nicer place to remember it by.
Thank you.

We have just returned from a fabulous fortnight at Kapinjala, our third trip, and certainly not our last. What a wonderful place to spend time relaxing with friends and family, taking in those spectacular views from the terrace and cooling off in the stunning infinity pool.
The house itself is spacious, with comfortable bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms and plenty of living space, though we spent the majority of our stay on the pool deck and under the covered terrace. The kitchen is a pleasure to cook in, and well equipped when compared with other holiday rentals; we cooked most of our evening meals on the barbeque on the terrace - slow cooked BBQ ribs, surf and turf, shrimp, the list goes on!
On the rare occasions that we were able to drag ourselves away from the villa we enjoyed exploring the beaches of the island (our favourite being Englishman's Bay) and sampling the different restaurants that the local area has to offer.
All in all we had a wonderful holiday and have booked to return for our winter sun in November 2015, we can't wait!

We enjoyed an incredible 2 weeks in Tobago, staying in Kapinjala. Kapinjala is everything we imagined it would be - simply breathtaking views, well thought out and presented accommodation and an exceptional pool area and terraces. The pool definitely has the wow factor! The owners regularly stay in the villa and look after it well (the month before we arrived new tiling had been installed around the pool). In my opinion what also helps to set Kapinjala apart is the people involved in its care and their relationships with the owners. Helen, the villa manager deserves special mention - nothing is too much trouble and she is brilliant at what she does, a true professional. We had such a busy fortnight that our only regret was not having another week to enjoy and really make the most of what Kapinjala has to offer.

I had the opportunity to spend 5 amazing days at this wonderful Villa. As soon as you arrive you are drawn into the serenity of the place. It has a spa like feel that from the onset encourages you to relax and soak up the atmosphere and when you see the view through the french doors in the living room you find it hard to want to do anything else other than jump in the infinity pool and never move again!
The villa is secluded so you will need to hire a car to explore the wonders of the island however do not let the seclusion put you off as security is provided and there is a more than adequate security system.
The villa provides everything that is required to have a relaxed vacation and if you can't find what you need Helen the House Manager is only a phone call away to help with anything that you require or any questions you may have.
There were 8 adults in our party and so used all 4 bedrooms. The couple that stayed in the fourth bedroom had no problem and in fact made the most of the unique position to be able to study the birds that came to visit every day.
Some of our party, myself included, didn't move from beside the pool but the rest had a great time exploring and did make the trip down to the beach on a couple of occasions. They did not encounter any problems but did go in a group and did not take any personal possessions with them.
It was very hard to leave and we all said that we would love to come back and spend longer at this amazing Villa.

Just returned this morning from a wonderful 2weeks holiday in Tobago with friends and family at this very nice property. The web site and the photos sell the dream but unfortunately due to poor management and maintenance upkeep the facility didn't quite live up to our expectation.
Our group was 2 x families of four. 4 adults and 4 small children. This created a problem because the villa is marketed as a 4bed villa however this is not strictly true because only 3bedrooms are located in the main house. The 4th bedroom is located beneath the pool deck outside the security of the main house and is therefore definitely not suitable for young children. Thus we had to split 8people into 3rooms, not ideal. In addition; a broken bed in one of the rooms, a blocked water supply to a shower in another room, and several ongoing water supply issues detracted from the "luxury" feel to the property. The 4th bedroom was also a little damp. If the information regarding the 4th bedroom had been made available to us, we would have selected another property.
On the plus side the living space is majestic, as is the pool deck, the outside terrace and the swimming pool. The kitchen is large with all mod cons and is well equipped.
The web site also sells the direct foot access to the quiet arnos vale bay as one of the main selling points, something we were very keen on. However on arrival we were informed by the house manager the the hotel in the bay was closed and now it was not "recommended" to take small children to the beach due to issues with locals hassling / mugging tourists due to the isolated nature of the beach. Due to difficulty of turning off the perimeter proximity alarm and the overgrown nature of the beach trail we chose not to venture to the beach via the house and instead made an occasional visit via a small foot path next to the abandoned hotel.
Due to its secluded and private location, car hire is essential for this property.
There is no usable garden space as all the land surrounding the drive / house / pool / pool terrace is steep escarpment. On the plus side this provides magnificent views of the surrounding area / Caribbean sea with the possibility of outstanding sunsets when weather permits.
The owner provided a security guard from 6pm to 6am
This villa could deliver on its promises with a bit of love and effort and it should be made clear from the outset the situation regarding the 4th bedroom so not to attract groups like ours with young children
