Close to everything one might want to reach. Nice pubs and restaurants in the vicinity. Parks and beaches not far.

Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, location was very good for downtown Victoria. Convenient, with a bar and restaurant on the corner. Very helpful with left luggage too.
Was only there one night but nothing negative was notable.

Comfortable, central, beautiful building, good service.
Facilities were limited, and there was a very noisy disco next door which affected one of our nights.
9.0
This historic building was a really cool hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff, and comfortable and clean rooms. Walking distance to ferry terminal and harbor, shopping, food, museums, and Beacon Hill Park.

Loved our room, very comfortable. Perfect location, walking distance to all amenities. We really enjoyed the Sticky Wicket, great food and entertainment.

Location was good, very central. The rooms were clean
NOISE!!! I have never stayed anywhere with so much outside noise. Heard everyone walking down the street, conversations, all traffic. It never seemed to stop. Very rowdy on Fri. And Sat. Night especially.
Layout seemed nice when you first arrived, but desks in both the sitting area and bedroom were useless to work at. Sitting area had a big box for TV controls, etc so that area couldn't be used, desk in the bedroom did not have an easily accessible outlet.
Not a problem for us, but if you enjoy a bath there isn't one. Only a shower.

We had a good night there. Went to The Mint for dinner and a show, came back for drinks at The Sticky Wicket. Too bad we couldn't access the bar from inside the hotel, but the restaurant space was lovely. The room was wonderful, with the separate living room and bedroom. The bathroom and shower were lovely!
More windows would be great. We had a window that overlooked the street from the living room. The bedroom window was small and looked out towards other windows of the hotel and was primarily blocked by scaffolding, so this made us sad. We were only in town for the night and we had to check out at 9am to catch our ferry, so it didn't matter so much in the long run. For a longer stay, we would definitely prefer another room.

Complimentary tea/coffee should be available in common area

Clean bedsheets, new and transparent fridge, LG TV and microwave with air con. Love the mini bar with tea and coffee.
No gym and swimming pool but it is not a big deal as location is fantastic

Room was spacious, and the value for money was amazing. Location is absolutely prime for pub hopping through the night, plus there are two bars downstairs and a volleyball court and bar on rooftop. Staff were friendly and courteous. Super clean facilities and more than appropriate amount of amenities provided.

A great location within a short walk to the harbour.

Good location
AC is very loud when on

Location was great and having air conditioning was a plus as it was quite warm. The wife was good as well.
Looking out the window we had a great view of air conditioners and a brick wall.

Clean, nice location
View was a very close brick wall. Guess I should be happy it was natural light.

We didn’t like anything there.
For US$350/night we expected enough room for the two of ya walk between the bed and the TV. It was clear that the room we had was a subdivision of a larger room. Hardly any total room for the two of us. We’ve stayed in better hotels for less than $100/night.
We won’t be staying at strathcona again

Hotel was clean and in a good location. Pub and restaurant was attached and had competitive prices and appeared to be newer than hotel.
Rooms were small and no luggage stand in our room. At times did not have enough staff at front desk to assist guests in a timely manner. Have to pay for parking. Street construction nearby. Hotel somewhat dated.

the location is great
the noise was loud from the bar below

Location was awesome, close to everything we needed, fridge was convenient
Bathroom dated, shower curtain had a hole in it, door had cosmetic damage

I liked so many things about this hotel. The location was prime! It was near so many things and so easy to walk everywhere in Victoria. It also has its own pub, restaurant, liquor store, bar, and even a night club. I didn’t even get to explore the whole thing! The room was also very comfortable and clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and there was an AC since our room got quite hot. I would definitely stay here again!
I don’t have any dislikes of the property.

Size of room and location
Housekeeping did not complete full cleaning or make beds. Rooftop bar closed.

The location was perfect with lots of restaurants and coffee shops within easy walking distance. The lobby was welcoming and the staff were very friendly.
Our room was a little dated (on the fifth floor)particularly the bathroom–my friend who travelled with us had a much nicer room with an updated bathroom which was beautiful. There is only one elevator which is busy at times but stairs are easily accessible for those who can use them.

Location was great.
The bathroom sink did not drain properly.
Our room was located next to the elevator and the noise around 1am -3am kept us awake. Drunk and loud guests from the bars downstairs.
3.0
The hotel had no pool , gym or any other amenities for guest to use , some rooms not even a microwave or a chair without paying more to upgrade, our second night we could not get any sleep due to lots of noise from the bar or night live shows! Over all I didn’t have a good experience for my wife and I especially this being her first visit to Victoria
Spacious rooms with a microwave and a chair to start without paying more, there should be atleast some sort of facilities to use likes of hot tub or gym , closer parking to the hotel not in the next block

We spoke with the supervisor and she was able to accommodate us with a different room that did not have strong fragrances from previous smokers/cleaning products.
The original room we books was small and basic for the price. It also had strong fragrances of smoke and cleaning products

The reception personnel and cleaning staff were very pleasant to deal with! We have stayed in the Strathcona several times over the years because of its location close to the Royal Theatre!

great location! It was our first time visiting Victoria and the location was perfect for us to explore downtown. The rooms were very nice the staff are great and the price was very reasonable. We will happily stay here again!
