The kitchen diner is very well equipped with double electric oven, halogen hob, fridge, microwave, slow cooker, dishwasher, woodburner and seating for six people.
However there are numerous eating establishments in New Quay ranging from Restaurants, Pubs, Cafes, Take Aways and of course Fish and Chip shops so that you can enjoy your fish and chips on the quay or the beach.
All the local eateries pride themselves on sourcing local produce, where possible, and the fish on your plate may well have been landed that day by some of the local fishermen who sell their catch on the quayside.
Alternatively take a picnic, we have a picnic hamper and picnic rug at the cottage.
Why not enjoy alfresco meals at home on the rear deck area with a large barbeque.
There is a separate utility room next to the kitchen, with a washing machine, drying facilities, including a tumble dryer, and fridge freezer.
Next to the utility room is a downstairs shower room perfect for washing off the sand after a day on the beach.
Upstairs there are 2 double bedrooms and one twin bedroom, which has a tv,dvd and games console with a number of games to keep the little ones entertained. Also available at the cottage is a high chair and travel cot.
The rear double bedroom has wonderful sea views and is next to the family bathroom which has a bath with hand held shower and a separate shower cubicle.
The cottage is heated by a wood pellet biomass central heating system, during the colder months, when the central heating is required, it is necessary to fill the boiler with pellets daily, requiring lifting, usually three, 10 kg bags up to the boiler.
The system is very easy to use and is very environmentally friendly, if you have any concerns about the heating system please do not hesitate to contact me.
Although there is no parking at the cottage within 100 metres is a pay and display car park with a weekly multi use tariff of £21.00.

Wonderful cottage with fantastic decor. Near to all amenities. Well stocked with towels and kitchen utensils. Wonderful views at back with abundance of buddlia attracting bees and butterflies. Our grandchildren loved it and New Quay is a lovely setting. Had a great stay.

We booked the accommodation for a family wedding in Llanarth in June. The property is a short walk down to the harbour in New Quay and has everything you need for a family of 6. Views are amazing from the rear decking of the whole Ceredigion Bay.

Garthowen is a lovely cottage in an ideal location in New Quay, within a 5-10 minute walk to the beach and main front.
The cottage had everything that we needed for a lovely family break! The views over the bay from the decking area are great!
We look forward to returning next year!

The cottage was more spacious than we expected and the views if the sea were fantastic from both the bedroom and decking.
It was an easy walk into New Quay which has great beaches and a good choice of places to eat

Quirky cottage, with everything you could need including a well equipped kitchen. The wonderful view from the garden was totally unexpected and took our breath away, stunning! One bedroom overlooked the bay and could be seen whilst lying in bed. The other two bedrooms are facing the road which can be noisy of an evening when the window is open to let some air in. It didn't bother us, but something to be aware of when booking. Car parking is very close to the cottage and didn't prove to be an issue. The cottage is also a stone's throw away from a small Costcutter and only a five minute walk into New Quay. All round fabulous cottage and location.

Everything was great my only negative comment is that there was no heating on arrival and it was a cold night and cold in the house next morning

Lovely cottage. Clean, comfortable, spacious, with lovely views and terrace at the back The only down side is the busy road outside, with double yellow lines, and no parking very close. Couldn’t get the central heating to work

We stayed for 4 nights in September at this wonderful cottage. Beautifully and tastefully decorated and very comfortable with fantastic views across New Quay harbour. There was everything we needed at the cottage.

The property is perfectly positioned with beautiful views over the bay and a short walk into New Quay. The house is nicely decorated with thoughtful touches and provides everything you would need. The terrace is as good as the photos suggest and the view from the bedroom is fantastic to wake up to.
We took our two teenagers with us and it suited us perfectly. Their lay-ins were not a problem as sitting on the terrace drinking coffee, reading and dolphin watching meant we were much more patient than usual! We all happily wondered down to the beach for lazy afternoons and ice-creams. Ate out in various places - didn’t have a bad meal. Our favourite was Rossini’s Italian just a stone’s throw from the cottage. We all agree we’d happily return.

The views of the bay from the garden are beautiful. It is what sold the cottage to us and they didn’t disappoint. The rooms inside the cottage were large and comfortable. However, the window sills were filthy with dead insects and a thick layer of dust. They had clearly not been cleaned. The bin in the kitchen had not been emptied and the downstairs smelled of rotting fish as a result. The main issue was the continuous beeping which lasted for the whole time we were there and was not only not resolved but very little effort was made to get it sorted. It drove us insane so much so we left early. It has left us quite disappointed with the holiday.
I would not have booked with young children due to being on a very busy road with no pavement to walk on. This part of the location was not made clear.

The property is absolutely beautiful, but is in desperate need of a thorough clean, tidy up.

The cottage is very comfortable, well equipped and furnished in a way that shows it's cared for. The back bedroom has a wonderful uninterrupted & ever changing sea view. Outside there is a hidden deck to the right at the end of the garden, with recliners overlooking the sea. All this and just a short 5 min. walk into town.

We honestly couldn't have asked for a better place. The pictures don't do it justice. With spring, we had an almost perfect wide view of the sea. It was incredible. The inside is lovely. The stairs are steep to the deck and inside but our 4yo managed well. The location is amazing. A short walk to a fantastic beach. We couldn't do restaurants due to Covid, but the Lime Crab does fab fish and chips. The local people are incredibly friendly. There is a popular sandy beach, and a quiet rocky beach at Little Quay a tiny drive away. We didn't want to leave. Absolutely perfect holiday. Thank you so much.

Garth Owen is a lovely cottage, you can see that the owner has put a lot of thought into the decoration and equipping the cottage with everything you could need covering a variety of age groups. The outside decking area has lovely views overlooking the bay and has plenty of furniture to relax or eat on. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage and would highly recommend it. Despite Covid rules Newquay was welcoming and with dolphins in the bay what’s not to like.

Loved this property. The great location, the spec of the cottage, the well stocked kitchen, the games & DVD’s, but most of all the view & the deck! Jo was very quick to respond to any questions & really helpful with information. Hope to revisit sometime.
