Location, architecture, cleanliness, wide room, breakfast, the spa.
Cold swimming pool, old room design and équipements, juste one key for two, juste one shower gel for 2 x 2 nights...

Architecture: a beautiful hotel with very nice touches.
It’s a bit old at some points, 30 years, but we can’t complaint for 160€ per night.

I loved the outdoor swimming pool available at the exit from the terrace of our room, it's exceptional. I also loved the sun loungers around the pool but also facing the sea, on the sand ! The hotel is located 5 minutes walk from a tourist food area. I also appreciated the full breakfast with sea view as well as the salad at lunch. Congratulations also for the maintenance of the swimming pool which was always clean!
I didn't like the noise of the hot tub in the bathroom, very noisy so I preferred to turn it off. And the terrace door that doesn't open without creaking. But the rest was perfect!

We stayed at the Saint Alexis for a week during our honeymoon trip. The hotel and staff provided us with good taste and authenticity. We will keep wonderful memories of our room with a direct access to the fabulous swimming pool which goes through the various buildings, gardens and bridges. We will also remember the lovely breakfast on the restaurant rooftop terrasse and the delicious suppers cooked by the new chef (it is a she). Thanks again to the Saint Alexis team for this dream honeymoon, we are so grateful.

We were upgraded to a junior suite. The hotel is really well situated on the beach. The restaurant is amazing. The swimming pool is really nice.
Rooms should be updated.

An excellent hotel in a very nice location on a great beach. Staff was helpful and courteous. Plenty of parking, excellent breakfast!
The pool was cold as ice. I actually used it to chill my water bottle! Although very beautiful it was just too cold to get in!

The location is perfect, on the beach, perfect for a romantic sunset. The building is beautiful and the rooms are nice.
A few too many things…
It is advertised as a Spa and Hammam. Hammam does not work and based on other people’s comments, this has been going on for quite some time now.
The gym facilities… is really 4 outdated equipment and two electronic devices that don’t work as there are no electricity in the room.
The restaurant is way too expensive for the service you are offered. The starter for the menu released daily was not the one we were offered. We asked for sparkling water, twice, that we never received but were charged, twice. The sides served on the plate were mixed between the two dishes we ordered for main. The waitress was doing her best and had to deal with a few complaints, she was the only positive note of that evening.
The keycard deactivated 5 times in two days. I realise first time might be my fault as it was close to phone but other 4 times… however, when I asked for a new keycard the third time, it didn’t deactivate anymore…
Finally, some of the staff is not trained to be a 4-star staff. When mentioning that there was a cockroach in my room, I was simply answered:” that’s normal, it’s like this here” and was asked if I wanted some product to kill them…. they finally came to put some product, and I found a total of 5 cockroaches in 2 days. Haven’t seen a single one during the other twelve days I was on the Island.
overall value for money is poor.
This weekend was supposed to be the highlight of a 2weeks holidays, it has unfortunately not been up to expectation and is probably the only regret I have from my stay in La Reunion.

You could rake the front property to remove the larger corals on the sand so we can walk in front of the property

views, and the pool. breakfast was okay also.
It seemed they had a problem with electricity where lights/wifi/hammam, basically everything was reseting every 5min during 3 or 4h, even its not hotel's fault I expected from a hotel of 4* some kind of compensations.Specially when prices per night is higher than 250EU
Sauna didn't work the whole day, hammam worked but bad,the gym has 5 machines who are... between 20 and 30 years old...overall was dirty, need a paint everywhere... we had to ask for clean towels because I hadn't. Not even a bottle of water for free inside the room. Hotel is very very very old and need quickly renovation. I wouldn't recomment anyone going there for the huge price you pay.
I can't understand cocktails are expensive than the local bars nearby.

Our bedroom had a direct access to the swimming pool, was well equipped and nicely decorated. This hotel is beautiful and sits in front of the beach.

The location is incredible, right on a beautiful beach. The gardens and the pool going all around the property is the best feature of this hotel.
The hotel is pretty run down, it needs a lot of work to get to high standards. The staff is not trained to a 4 stars standard. The food and drinks are pretty poor quality.

The luxe room are super spacious, it was very cosy! & confortable. The hot bath was very nice! The hotel was perfect to relax at the end of the holidays! We have loved it!

The staff at the bar was really nice and efficient. The room was pretty spacious and the bed was really comfortable.
We checked in the hotel before 3 pm and requested with the receptionist to contact the hotel's restaurant on our behalf so we could reserve a table at the earliest convenience or book a table somewhere else if there was no availability. She promised that she would contact the restaurant asap and confirm with us. I went an hour later to ask if she was able to get in touch with them but she told me that she couldn't yet but would do it as its on top of her priority list. We went to the reception again early evening and asked if there was an update on our request but a different receptionist advised me that her colleague left without apparently calling the restaurant. Because of the time, we weren't able to dine at the hotel as the restaurant was fully booked. We were really disappointed in the lack of service that a 4 stars hotel should be providing at the minimum to its guests and how unhelpful/unconcerned the staff was in finding information about close by restaurants. No water offered in the room on arrival or available in the mini bar. That's the smallest thing that any hotel above 3 stars should have, especially on a tropical island. Overall, the hotel has a poor service and amenities.

Beautiful pool and surroundings. Good breakfast. Helpful staff.
Bathroom setup is bad and no shower. Only option is the jacuzzi tub. Balcony very small
