I'd stay here if I wanted to be in this busy location again, but book through booking.com!

The location is excellent if you want to be in the center of busy South Beach with the ease of walking around to things. We had a great view from our beach view room and the hotel is right across the street from the beach. I would stay here again for the location. If you're looking for a quieter hotel away from the bustle, this is not the location for you.

Pretty much all the smaller boutique hotels in this area are older, so this met my expectations for an older hotel. It was comfortable, but not like a bigger hotel. There were tons of flies in our hallway outside our room and on our door, so every time we opened our door, many came in. I also originally booked the room directly with the hotel. When we checked in, they had NO record of our reservation and the e-mail confirmation came from their old parent company they no longer are affiliated with. Despite their mixup, the manager did not honor any kind of discount or work with us in any way to book another room. It was late and we did not want to search any other hotels so I went on booking.com to book at this same hotel (instead of booking with the front desk AT the hotel) - Booking.com saved us and we even got a BETTER room at a CHEAPER rate than my original booking!

We were very happy with our stay. Nice property.

Location is excellent near the beach and right on Ocean Drive in the most desired Art Deco district. Our room was roomy, modern, comfortable, and quiet. Our top-floor room had a large balcony with view of the beach and ocean.

Both desk staff that we met at check in and at check out seemed less than enthusiastic though they did treat us with respect and properly got us processed. I recommend a room like the one we had that does not have direct exposure to the front side of the hotel because I can see how it might be noisy in other rooms b/c of the speaker music that they play from early morning until later evening at the front of the hotel. Many of the hotels along Ocean Drive do the same... it's to draw in business and create a vibe for people walking by.

Finger weg von diesem Hotel!

- Strand ist sehr nah - Sonst war es das schlechteste Hotel in dem wir je waren

- Es befindet sich direkt vor dem Hotel ein Restaurant, wo es den ganzen Tag + Nacht laute Musik spielt. Der ganze untere Hotelbereich wird auf von diesem Restauramt genützt außer der Empfangstisch - Wir haben extra mehr bezhalt um einen Balkon mit Meerblick zu haben. Am letzten Ende des Balkons konnten wir das Meer sehen. Der Balkon war ab dem Checkin bis zum Checkout mit Vogelkot voll, somit konnte er nicht betreten werden. Auch nach mehrmaligen Nachfragen wurde der Balkon nicht gereinigt. - Das Zimmer war beim Checkin sehr schmutzig. Wir haben 4 Tage lang 2 mal Täglich verlangt, das das Zimmer gereinigt wird (Reinigungsservice täglich war im Preis inbegriffen). Es wurde dann einmal am Tag 5 sauber gemacht. - Rezeptionisten (die einzigen die im Hotel angestellt sind) haben ein Schichtsystem. Wenn dem einen etwas gesagt wird, trägt er es aber nicht an den nächsten weiter. - Klimaanlage ist super kalt. Lüftung im Bad kann nicht abgestellt werden und ist sehr laut. - Im Bad gibt es eine Tür die in ein sehe grusliges Treppenhaus führt wo die Tür nichz verschlossen werden kann. Die Hotelzimmertür hat auch einen riesigen Spalt unten. - Zimmerkarts musste nach jeden öffnen der Türe neu pogrammiert werden. Ist bei allen Hotelgästen der fall. Da es nur einen Rezeptionisten im Haus gibt, und der für alles verantwortlich ist, hat man immer lang gewartet. Für den Preis der für dieses Hotel gezahlt wird (liegt halt am Ocean Drive direkt am Strand) war es vom Service und der Ausstattung her das schlechteste und unangenehmste Hotel in dem wir je waren. Falls Ihr überlegt hier zu bleiben, weil es billiger als die anderen Hotels ist, würden wir euch raten, ein wenig Geld mehr in die Hand zu nehmen und ein anderes Hotel zu buchen. Davon gibt es hier genug. Die Rezeptionisten haben immer wieder erwähnt, wie streng das Management ist. Vom Gefühl her wird an allen Ecken hier gespart um möglichst viel Geld zu machen.

Zentral, Art Deco

Die Lage war super. Wir haben ein Zimmer mit Blick auf das Meer direkt im Art Deco District. Der Herr an der Rezeption war besonders nett und hilfreich!

Das Haus war sehr abgenutzt und die alten Art Deco Möbel brauchen eine Auffrischung. Leider mit einem Zimmer im Dachgeschoss kommt starke Geräusche von der zentrale Klimaanlage. Da es Nebensaison war, haben wir schnell ein neues Zimmer bekommen. Danke!

Gorgeous room, spacious bathroom and excellent staff

The rooms were just as pictured, good sized and the bathroom was so spacious. Loved the dual shower! Excellent location, walkable to everything we wanted to explore; however next time I’d probably stay off Ocean drive as it’s a pretty busy scene. Staff was so helpful and friendly. Loved our stay :)

Our room keys repeatedly quit functioning, but this was probably due to proximity to our phones and other cards. Easy fix at the front desk!

Excellent location. Close to everything.

Can't beat the location versus price. On Ocean Drive close to EVERYTHING - beach, restaurants, nightlife, pharmacy, etc. Location just made life easier. We parked our rental car at the public garage 3-5 mins away. We borrowed the hotel's bikes and drove up and down Ocean Drive to get breakfast. You can swim in their sister hotel pool, but there was too much going on we never got around to it. Evenings they have flamenco guitar and dancer, belly dancer. Such great entertainment! Highly recommend. They have free water, coffee in the lobby.

Can't park in front even to unload! Cops are so aggressive. Need to use valet if you're stopping in front of the hotel. But the garage was literally around the corner this inconvenience wasn't as big of a deal. The music was on until 10pm or 11pm depending on the day, but it didn't bother us. Most of Ocean Drive in the evening has a lot of noise so this common.

Great location, very pricy!

Great location. No pool but you can use the Hotel Victor’s (one block away)

It’s very pricy for the amenities. The cleaning staff was just lounging around in the room when we checked in. Also - the couple ahead of us in line was explaining to the desk staff that they were robbed! Bad sign. The cops were called etc. not a great sign :(

AC has weird noise. They also declined my request to move my booking by one day because of my canceled flight which is ok, but usually, I expect more understanding when I pay $900 for four nights. Also, expect at least to have glasses in the room. That was so stupid that they had champagne ice buckets but didn't have glasses.

Very good location, kind and helpful staff. There are bycicle, caffee corner, bottle of water. The breakfast was very good. Wi-fi, air-conditioning was great. Very close to the beach.

The alcoholic beverages were expensive compared to the food. You don't count on it.

Excellent location, especially if you want to be right on South Beach. Highly recommended.

One of the main reasons for choosing this hotel, was for its proximity to the beach and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Straight across the street, less than 100 yards to step into the ocean. Another feature we liked was that the hotel provided towels and chairs to take from the hotel to the beach. This came in very handy one afternoon when the people hiring out the sun beds on the beach wanted to charge us a full days rental $63.00, for only 3 hours, for 2 x sun beds and 1 x sun shade. We ended up getting the chairs (for free) from the hotel and bought a sun shade in a shop on Collins Avenue for $39.99, which we were able use on subsequent days. We also took advantage of the free cycles from the hotel as well. Using them to ride from 12th Street on South Beach on up to 96th Street on North Beach, along the excellent cycle path. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. We liked the fact that they were not in our face and offered help or suggestions when we asked for it. We like to be left alone when on vacation, so asked for our room not to be made up. This request was respected, as well as another we had for some extra coffee pods, so that we could make some in our room. I’d also like to point out that every review I had read of all hotels in the South Beach area said that car parking was a problem and that it would cost about $44.00 per day. With a rental collected from Miami International Airport, I was not looking forward to paying this much each day. I mentioned this to the front desk staff upon arrival and was politely directed to a car park on 13th Street and Collins, less than 50 yards from the hotel which only charged $20.00 per 24hr period. The only disappointment with this came when we ventured out on a Friday evening and found the car park full when returning at 21:00. We had to park in an alternative car park on Collins Avenue, which charged $25.00 per 5hr period. I'd also like to add that the in room WI-FI was excellent.

The only thing that we weren’t to keen on was the late night music, from the front of the hotel. We could hear this clearly from our room every night.

Exceptional Service

Hotel Ocean topped it off! We spent 2 days after going on a 7 day cruise to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Pino was awesome. He treated us with special care during our stay. The restaurant's food and service was excellent, a little pricey, but worth the money. The waiters were outstanding, as well! The location is right across from the beach. Thank you, Hotel Ocean and staff, for your hospitality!

Great Value

Property location was incredible! I stayed at a deluxe superior room with bathtub and it was great, room was very big, bathroom was very spacious, and there was everything I needed including a very comfortable bed! Pino at the front desk was kind, very helpful and professional.

It gets a little noisy as the restaurant downstairs is open until 2am with loud music. If you are up and wanting to have fun it is lively and nice, but if you are planning to sleep earlier than 2am it can be a little tough.

Perfect location, great service and a good value for money.

Perfect location if you want to enjoy the beach, some nightlife and walking around South-Beach. Taking breakfast or a drink at night is also great given the location right by Ocean Drive. The hotel provides beach cruiser bikes for free, which is super! This is the perfect means of moving around - and you will be able to see all Miami Beach easily. The rooms are ok and with the bathroom being recently refurbished a real good choice. I had a quiet room with a lot of space at a good price. I would like to in particular highlight the great service. Everybody was very helpful and friendly. I was able to get into my room early and front desk person helped me with recommendations for shopping, tours and for getting around. They were amazing when I had lost my key and cards. Thank you to the entire team.

The hotel does not have a pool - though you are able to use the one of a neighbor hotel. In some areas of the hotel you can feel and see that it has been around for a few years (e.g. the public bathroom felt a bit run-down or the look and feel of the walkways and elevator)- but nothing serious and fully ok for the status and price.

the lights in my room were really temperamental. they were on a sensor but it didn’t work all of the time and wasn’t always sure if I could get them back on. someone from reception helped but they still were working one min and not the next.
