The location and cleanliness
Elevator out of service for several hours.

It was a nice, clean place. The bed was comfortable. The beakfast is nice.
The elevator was out of service. The place was a bit outdated. It did not bother us though.
4.1
Breakfast was good, there was a nice variety of foods to choose from. It was kept well stocked. The staff was quick to take care of any spills and empty the trash before it overflowed.

The room was nice, beds comfortable & breakfast was adequate. The staff was accommodating & friendly.
Second & third shift staff was often MIA at the front. I could hear them in the back area of the front desk. Sometimes, they would come out, sometimes, not.
Ventilation in the bathroom would be nice, especially when there are 2 or more people in a room.

It was very clean ,very nice until the elevator broke down and had no way except the stairs to get things back in the car !! Front desk did it offer much help ,no freight elevator ! My husband has COPD and struggled to go up and down the stairs ,we have a dog traveling with us so I stayed in the room so he would not bark and loudly !! The front desk let him on the elevator with a luggage cart ,but you can only get off when the button is pushed on the outside ,so I called again and the phone kept ringing so I ran down with the dog to get him off the elevator ,I walk past the front desk and two employees are standing chit chatting at the front desk !!!
no help with the front desk

The 1st morning I was there they ran out of food - before 8 am! I asked if they were going to restock it and the young guy who came out of the office said that wasn't his job. A young lady came out and didn't look interested in doing anything about it. And I mean out of food!! No cereal, nothing in the heating section, no pancake mix in the machine, no muffins or cinnamon rolls - NOTHING! The next few mornings were somewhat better but the milk was spoiled, the lines were very long so I grabbed food elsewhere on my way to my meetings...
Front desk people were rarely there, not sure if this location is run by a family who live on site but the young man mentioned above was always in a t-shirt, sweats and slides going in and out of the office but never working, there was food crumbs outside of my door 1 morning - which was creepy, like someone was standing there eating listening?? Last morning I waited at the front desk for 15 minutes (at 8 am) waiting for someone to show up so I could get my receipt for my records for work... when she finally showed up, she asked if I could just wait for the email receipt. When I said no, because my expense report was due by 3 pm, she rolled her eyes, disappeared into the back for 5 minutes before bringing it out. I asked for the info to call customer service and she told me, with a smirk, that HI wouldn't do anything since it is privately owned and the Holiday Inn won't do anything about my complaint. There were 3 other people in line with me waiting to complain about something...
I travel to the area 1 week a month for work, this was my 5th stay here and it will now be my last

Nothing.
I booked this hotel through Booking.com and received multiple confirmation emails. I was astounded to find out that when we walked in the lobby, they said they didn't have any rooms available. I should not have been able to make a reservation if they had no occupancies. What if I had traveled far and had no where to stay? The staff was rude and this whole experience was poor. We ended up returning home for the night because our "confirmed room" did not exist. Ridiculous.

location was 1 mile from my family. Everything was comfortable and price was great.
I had asked for a room close to lobby or elevator as I am disabled. We had to rent a wheelchair because it was too far to walk

They did not have the rooms clean at 10:30 at night. Showed up expecting to get my room and instead found someone else in my room once they gave me the keys. I went down to the counter and requested to cancel our stay there and I would like a full reimbursement for the charges for the room, really they should do much more than that. It is unreal what happened! I hope that in some way you or this hotel can make this right. I have the photos of the cleaning crew still on the hallway cleaning rooms while people waiting outside the rooms at 10:30 at night, and also the photo of the guy in my room and one with both of us holding up the keys marked 221. This almost completely ruined our vacation, was very hard to find someone else in the area at that time at night to get us a room.
I always book Holiday Inn Express anytime I can because they have good breakfast and super clean facilities. Never have I ever seen such a poorly run hotel with such an established reputation for quality. I will be leaving a very poor review for the hotel on their website.
