I was travelling with my nieces and this. was a very child friendly hotel, the pool has slides, and a free "kids bar", there is an area to play games like ping pong and giant jenga and a stand for shaved ice and ice cream. Being on the bay us great we kayaked and did stand up paddle board every day.
I wish the dining options were more. affordable, for 3(2 adults , 1 child) of us I had to pay $100 for the buffet style breakfast. There is also no room service. Also felt pretty crowded especially on elevators/ the pool.

Location is very good - close to the ocean and the Sea World. Nice breakfast with vegetables and defenitely above average of what we experienced during our west coast vacation. Staff was supper attentive and easily available.
Pool area is a bit underscaled given the size of the hotel. If hotel is close to full, you night not find a sunbed. Prices are on the higher end - 17-20usd for so called cocktail is befoming a standard, but let’s not be afraid to call ot crazy.

The property and amenities were beautiful.
We ordered dinner from the Pelican Cafe. My husband had 3 bites of his fish tacos and felt like there was something wrong with them. So he didn’t eat them. He started throwing up 30 minutes later. I called the restaurant to tell them and it was as if the woman that answered the phone didn’t understand what food poisoning is. She offered him a different meal (he was already throwing up) and then offered us a free breakfast for the next day. Neither of which was helpful. I stated you should tell your kitchen staff someone is sick from the food. She said she would and then hung up. It was so very bizarre. As if she either didn’t believe he was sick or what I don’t know. At the very least she could have refunded us for his tacos. Poor customer service at best. Our room was also not ready when we arrived. Everyone else in our group had rooms, one was even upgraded to a suite for no apparent reason, but ours was not ready. I had politely asked if it was ready via text earlier in the day. I was told it wasn’t which was fine. But when we arrived at 10 to 4 I had hoped for it to be ready since everyone else in our party was checked in and able to go to their rooms or suites and get ready to go to the pool, but ours was not ready. I know it sounds petty but when you spend $320 for literally 10 hours of your life, 8 of which will be sleeping you’d like to have a room and food that doesn’t make you sick.

We stayed there for 5 nights. Room type was Quens bedroom with balcony. İts a very large room. Beds and pillows and sheets very comfortable and clean. Thre was a coffe machine with starbucks capauls. Location was very quiet and easy accesable. Stuff was very kind. Hotel was very clean and compact. We used pool by the way. The weather was cold but we can use pool because its warm :)). And also car park very easy and we use the vale. Vales stuff very helpfull.

Emily at front desk, so helpful. gave us dinner tips and room with great view of sunset
extra charges, parking is spendy, resort fees. etc etc adds up!

Amazing experience. Great landscape design, perfect location, and the nicest staff. Breakfast with a view was great!
Maybe could have different pillows, personally think they were a little too soft

Location was great for us. The breakfast at the adjoining restaurant was top notch - we opted to have this included in our room rate, otherwise the price for the breakfast is really high. It was a full buffet and great. Pool was nice, but consistently dirty with items floating in it (bandaids, clothes, leaves, etc).
The bathroom was run down and dirty. The shower was pretty gross and it could have been much cleaner. The shower head was dirty.

Philip on the concierge desk made us feel so welcomed. It was our sons birthday and he made it feel so special, nothing was too much for him to help us with from directions, recommendations and general information we needed. Thank you for an amazing stay.

Friendly staffs and the location do feel like a resort for a relaxing holiday.
More restaurants varieties inside hotel. Red Marlin’s food was just OK.

Great pools for kids
Incredibly expensive for what it was. The Red Marlin was a complete rip off and insanely expensive. The suites are in desperate need of need of an update - not at all sound proofed, weird whistling sounds coming through doors all night, horrible pull out bed, and the bath rooms are so dated you feel the grime… for the cost I would have expected a lot nicer of an environment

Location
Staff at the front desk relying the wrong information by phone.
Last, assuming what I was asking instead of looking at the account and verify purchased packages.
In addition, the bathroom was dirty when I arrived. There was hair and pee all over the toilet seat as well as the edged around the toilet seat.

Staff very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast package at the Red Marlin is a must for families. All attractions from Balboa Park to beaches to the zoo and USS Midway were fabulous. We ended our vacation with a day trip to La Jolla beautiful!! Was a great visit.
Nothing was bad.

The location was beautiful 🤩
There was dog poop along the marina walk and along the trail to the office, if pets are allowed on the property, their owners need to pick up the poop. There was a mildew smell to the room, the cleaning products need to be changed, and applied appropriately.

Overall we enjoyed our stay-but the extra costs while staying there are not-$45 for parking per night and the pool house food is good but expensive! The pool is really nice and fun for kids. The hotel setting is beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful-they were great!
Parking cost-$45 and beds (mostly pillows not
Very comfortable)

The view was great and the room was decorated tastefully. Being right on the water was wonderful.
The bathroom was dirty. Dusty lots of places and bathroom mirror frame was dirty. Shower need updating. We tried to check in at 3:00 and our room wasn’t ready. They said they would text us when it was but at almost 4:30 I checked back and it was ready without them contacting me. Walked into the Pelican by the pool and sat ourselves and waited a long time for acknowledgment. Women working totally ignored us. Another one entered and asked if we had been helped and she was great.

Sunday night activities at the pool. Our view of SeaWorld fireworks from the room. Water activities that were available. We LOVED the ticket for free kayak for 1 hr!
Biggest complaint is the smoking/vaping in the pool.area. Each day we were at the pool adults were puffing around kids and babies. No smoking NEEDS to be enforced!!
Having to rent a microwave. No convenient market with coffee in lobby. No casual breakfast at hotel and having to do the red marlin for that instead of something closer,.more convenient, and simpler. A game room would be great! Slides closed early. Where did the ping pong table go? Air freshener needed at lobby floor of tower.

Water slides and close to seaworld
Had to pay 100 for parking and water slides closed at 6 which is way to early for summer esp knowing guests go to seaworld then the kids want to go swimming also no breakfast at all my kids were disappointed especially this being the first trip with no breakfast and the most expensive hotel we have stayed at

The view. The pool.
The parking fee is OUTRAGEOUS.
My son joined us and when he arrived he was concerned it was dumpy because the exterior needs at least paint if not a total upgrade. But he was pleased once he got into the interior.

The $45 Over night parking with the open-top parking space is really unnecessary. The shade in the room is not working at all, but its fully booked so the front desk can't change room for me.
