i have nothing to put here!
I reached out to Patrick, operations manager on April 15. He said he would look into the issues and get back to me. He has not gotten back to me.
This hotel is billing itself as a swak 4 star. It is far from it!
Got to the room and the TV would not turn on. Tried to call front desk about it and turns out the phone didnt work! As a woman travelling with my daughter this is a security issue. Feels very unsafe to be in a room with no way to contact the front desk... As for feeling unsafe, when we got to the room the light switch by the door did not work. Had to walk down a dark hallway in the room to get to the next switch. Turns out two switches have to both be on to get the one entry light to work. I have done home electrical wiring and I know what this mean: it was wired incorrectly! It's meant to be wired so both switches turn on the light from either location. Not that both must be on at once for it to work. So makes me wonder for my safety again that someone who couldnt do basic wiring was hired to do this work, what other electrical problems could there be?
Went to lobby to get the phone fixed, staff came and said they had fixed it but it still didnt work for the rest of our stay. As for the tv it turned out to be the wrong remote left in the room and had to be switched out. Twice, in one day, I was locked out of the room, due to the swipe pad malfunctioning.
The toilet was broken. Have to continuously hold the handle down while it flushes. The ceramic lid on the tank had a HUGE crack, 1/2 the side of the cover was broken off! How is it that the room was released for occupancy with a broken toilet. The sink leaks. It left a pool of water dripping out of the trap. When you turn it on you can hear it making a weird sound in the wall... I give the readiness of the room a zero. I spent too much of my time with maintenance at 10:30 at night to replace what should have been taken care of in the general day to day of operations.

Its location and the view from our room.
The soaking tub and the shower could not be used because the water didn’t work properly. Also, the TV controls are ancient and could not be connected or provide access to paid subscriptions (ie, Netflix, Amazon or Hulu).

Well located
The hotel is showing its age badly. Admittedly it was recently purchased and is undergoing a refurb soon but in its current state it’s rather shabby. That said the rooms are clean and of a reasonable size.

The front desk was so friendly & accommodating! Very understanding! Happy hour on the 20th floor was great as well!
My room was dusty even tho it was cleaned before I got there and when I was there.

The staff greeted me with greatly and knew who I was when arriving. Showed me everything I needed to know, check in took about 3 minutes. Everything was what I was expecting. From the room to the view event up to room service. Phenomenal!
There’s isn’t anything that I didn’t like.

The staff at my arrival was fantastic, they reach all my requests concerning the room.
I used to come really often at the Rivington before the pandemic. And now it's like an hotel with no soul. Very sad and disappointing.
Detail but not a little one a used condom find close to my bed at my arrival ...
No help to put my bags in the car when I left...
1.750 dollars for 3 nights ... I don't think that I will come back.

I loved the view and the hospitality. Everyone was respectful and professional. There were unforseen issues and I was refunded. I can respect that, very accommodating. I do recommend staying here just call for status first.
The hotel was under construction. There were issues with my heat and they had to move me to another room. Then the water went out due to issues from a property next to it. Other than that I had a wonderful time

NOTHING
In my Room :
1) There is no hot/warm water and no way to get a shower.
2) And also the bathroom’s window is a clear window without any curtain or blind looking to next building’s window.
3) The bathroom door handle is broken so you cano not close it.
4)Toilet is not flushing
5)The phone in the room also not working, you cannot dial.
6) No safe in the room
7) The mini fridge in the room is not working.

The location is great
No lights in the bedroom, no sockets in the bedroom, toilet didn’t flush. The room and the hotel is tired and generally dirty.

The staff truly goes the extra mile!! Danzel and Seki went way out of their way to solve my problem. Plus the view from the 17th floor was truly jaw-dropping.

The location is fantastic if you like the LES. This was once my go to location when staying in in NYC, and also attended great events in the penthouse. Sadly this hotel is not what it used to be anymore.
The shower had mold on all the sealant, the glass for the shower was cracked, the elevators were dirty and smelled bad. The 2 nd floor social space was closed (we sat in the penthouse for an hour waiting for a room, which was so hot with no AC that we ended up having to wonder around the neighborhood instead).
They also charge a mandatory $30 per night resort fee which included a wine hour (which we could not attend), free Wi-Fi (which I measured at 50kb/s, so was unusable), and a free breakfast which consisted of filter coffee and what tasted like three day old pastries.
Hopefully the new ownership are working on these things, but for now it is just not a nice place to stay.

Construction was horrible, drilling in the early morning, elevators barely worked, rooms didn’t feel clean, no black out blinds, lighting in room was very dark.

the view was the best part. puts you right in the middle of the cityscape.
For starters, upon arrival we noticed that the wall directly to the left of the entrance next to the mini fridge was completely broken, like falling out . If we hadn't noticed as soon as we inspected the room, we could've gotten seriously hurt. We just moved the little table over closer to the wall to kinda hold it up. The sink didnt drain at ALL. The entire stay. Just filled with our water and saliva and toothpaste and all that kind of stuff.

I really like the view from the corner suite- it is an amazing view on sunrise in NYC over Wiliamsburg bridge.
Room service was really poor except changing bad and towels they did not clean anything else. The floor was dirty, dust was even in the wardrobe:(
