This is a GREAT value-for-money hotel right on the edge of the university district. With only a one block walk you are right in the heart of all of the great restaurants and bars that are on ASU's main drag. The hotel is clean, comfortable and has friendly staff.
The only downside (and for me it was a significant one) is that my room was very dark. My window was on the dark side of the building to begin with and my room was long and narrow. This meant that the interior of the room was basically reliant totally on room lighting. That made it a bit depressing and not a place I wanted to hang out.

It was in a nice part of the town. A bit of a walk from the ASU campus, but close to some wonderful bars and restaurants. And at a decent price too.
IMO, it seemed like it was on the edge of the “college town”. Take that with a grain of salt though as I didn’t really walk beyond the campus or the Whole Foods down the street.

The location is great because it is within walking distance of many great restaurants and a public park, and about 10min uber drive ($15-$20) from the airport.
The hotel is right next to a train track. The train comes through a few times per day and creates some noise. However, the horn does not blow and the noise didn't wake me up at night as it is muffled by the building.

The location and the staff
Minor details, like I could not move curtains in my room to block life 100% or I didnt find a way to turn off the exterior light, etc.

The room was very comfortable.
(It was my own fault) We were surprised that we had to pay to park our car. It was written in the confirmation; I just did not notice it. This was the only time we were charged to park on our entire trip, Phoenix hotels did not charge. There was no breakfast offered at this hotel. One of the elevators was broken for part of one day.

Not a well run hotel

Location was great!! Staff was very friendly and accommodating for my 3 night stay. Gym included free weight dumbbells! Lobby refrigerator was almost fully stocked. My room was very roomy..
Shower and shower head weren't the greatest and felt dated. Bed was decently comfortable. I have stayed at quite a few Sonesta's including Sonesta resorts so expectations were very high for this one.

Did not partake of the breakfast. Rooms were nice.
Parking. Long check in. Had to park in a public garage a fairly long distance from the hotel. Hotel prices.

Location was going to be perfect!
We didn't end up staying because they overbooked and we were being sent to a hotel 10 minutes down the road. We live 20 minutes the other way so just went home. Had wanted to stay near start/finish of Ironman race. Booked hotel a year ago, and they gave away our room.

A receptionist was far from hospitality. The attitude was so bad for first two days, and changed it for another three days after she knew I am there for american company. Also, I was locked out from my room even though I asked the receptionist that my company has booked my stay after first 2days. Finally, the receptionist failed to book my taxi for airport. It was at 4am, and uber is not appropriate, that's is why I asked the receptionist. The taxi didn't show up. I could not believe the hotel could not arrange the airport taxi. I asked Uber finally.....Bad experience ever.
