Good location. Comfortable bed.
It says daily housekeeping, but there was no housekeeping at all for three night stay. Not allowed to use elevator, which is a direct violation of ADA. Mold growing in crumbling bathtub.
No staff on site. Open front door to the hotel with unattended front desk.
3.2
Nice location. Close to many things.
Too many stairs to get up to my room. No elevator. No coffee maker in room.

great as always

10 mins walking to Lake Placid center - restaurants, shops, movie.
There is a restaurant on the site, but opens late (after 11:30am or later) and closes at 7:30pm.
Complimentary tea and coffee option in the lobby, though entire Saturday there was no water left in any of those machines :(((( There is microwave in the lobby as well.
There is free parking, but on Saturday night it was full.
Check in / out was easy and fast as there were no workers, you just pick up a key with your name on a tag and then drop off the key to check out box. But also no one to resolve issues in case they occur.
There is some charm in old style - carpets, furniture.
There was good water pressure in the shower, good hot water. Shower is over a bathtub so there is enough room there.
Individual heater in the room was efficient.
Furniture, windows, blinders - everything old (but TV was new).
There is no chair in the room, nowhere to seat.
There is no safe box.
It was weird, but the toilet located just in front of the sink so there was no much room to seat/use the toilet.

Lovely warm welcome, the homeliness of the hotel, its history, its location and the quietness
No lift!

Old but classy, whole place has character. Two armchairs in room (not just one!), nesting tables, 3 windows, separate small room for luggage. Coffee!
Hardly saw staff, but coffee machine was working!!
3.2
The place is very conveniently located and the room is pretty good as advertised in the photos. The room is warm and both bathroom and the room have their individual thermostat to adjust which is good. Closet was big enough for keeping bags and more.
The bed and pillows are not comfortable at all. No dustbin in the room and the lighting in the room needs to be better. Closet could use more hangers. There was no staff to attend, but this might have been temporary.

location was great.
the mattress was old, the property is poorly kept, the ceiling was bowing on the terrace looking about to collapse, AC barely working, musty smell.
When I dialed 0 at about 10pm to ask for the wifi password the receptionist rudely asked me to never dial that number because that is only for emergency. no one is at the reception desk past 8pm. the outside door always open no secure entrance.

Bed was comfy, place was old looking but nice experience and clean. loved that lounge with fire place, felt safe with kids.
Host was awesome!! love to go back to this place.
You can hear some noise when people walking outside the room, may be lots of kids in the hotel that time.

I loved the old fashioned sitting room with comfortable antique furniture. It was a lovely place to read and relax.

Rooms could need a refurbishment
3.2
Great location. easy walk downhill to Main Street restaurants. good BBQ restaurant on site.
No fridge in room
3.2
Close proximity to mirror Lake.
All the rooms need updating.
3.2
Comfortable bed. Hot water. Atmosphere.
No elevator. Lack of small amenities.
3.2
Location.
No fridge in the room. Microwave only in the common area at the lobby. Window AC was not cold enough.
3.2
The bed was comfortable and the location is good. It was also clean if you don't include the tile rubble!
Unfortunately, the building needs some upgrades. The tiles in the corner of our bathroom were broken and just in a pile and the wallpaper was peeling off the walls. It looks like nothing has been done since the 1980s. Minimal amenities. No coffee pot. Not even a blow dryer.

The room was very clean, and the bed was fairly comfortable.
Although we arrived before 9 PM, the lobby lights were low and the reception desk was already closed, and our keys were just sitting there in an envelope with a cell phone number to call if we had any questions. There is no elevator, but fortunately we only had to carry our luggage to the second floor. The room was large enough, but the bathroom was quite tight — we had to turn sideways to get between the sink and the tub enclosure to get to the toilet. Also, the mirror was so high that I could only see half of my face. The two windows in the bedroom did not have shades, and the curtains being thin, it was quite bright by 6 AM. Lake Placid is expensive, so we were looking for a reasonable rate…..but I don’t feel like we got much value even for what we paid! 😞

Rainy day in the area so the owner texted us and said we were able to check in early which was super nice. Check in was a quick 2-minute process and we were even able to check out the next day at 6 AM by simply dropping off our keys at the desk. Room was simple and clean and cozy feeling. Bathroom very clean with lots of hot water. Extra blanket on bed to keep warm in the cool May night. No frills but a nice place to stay in Lake Placid that is not a chain.
We could hear pipes running from the shower in the room next door but that is to be expected coming from an older place. We just shut the bathroom door to diminish the noise.
3.2
Just about everything and Adirondack mountain views.
Slow sink drain. Water takes awhile to heat up.
3.2
Easy of checkin.
3.2
Close to Main Street. Quiet stay. Comfortable room.
Covid rules....no staff presence. Found coffee but not breakfast.
