This property is in a poor state of repair. I have photos to back up what I say! There was rust all over the bathroom, the knobs on the tub were corroded amen broken, there was no vanity, only a sink and mirror in the bedroom. The walls were chipped. The hallways were not vacuumed once while we were there. Even though it cost us +\_ $200, we left two days early because it was so bad. We went elsewhere and paid over $300 to stay those two nights, so it cost us some $500 because it was so bad!

The beautiful woodwork located throughout. I can only imagine that in 1938, this inn was a grand lady.
Taking into account that this was historic; no real upgrades have been done. The shower cold water faucet broke the first night and we had to request maintenance come. After, we requested a room change and we were accommodated. The headboard in the second room was not attached to the bed frame and any slight movement getting on or out of the bed was quite noisy. The windows coverings did not have backings and the morning sun shown very bright at first light of day. There were hardly any outlets for plugging in cell phones. Again, realizing the historic significance; we had just expected some modern accommodations. The on-site restaurant/bar was not open at the time of our stay.

The curtains were stained brown, there was no hot water in the sink, the tub looks like it was never cleaned, there was not much to the breakfast pop tarts no muffins.
It would be a nice place once remodeled better. All I noticed was new carpet and that even smelled musty.

The courtyard was nice.
The rooms were in need of repairs and renovations. The room smelled like mold and the mattress was lumpy. I opened the closet to place my clothes in there and the smell was even worse.
There was a sign posted for breakfast but in fact all they had to serve was coffee.

At least at this hotel, the rate was fairly priced, due to the fact it’s a older building… so I was not surprised at seeing certain things, it was clean/ comfortable for an overnight stay, staff was very accommodating and friendly! I would stay there again just to support the hotel and give it my business.
The bed was very hard, that’s my only concern.

Nothing to like. No hot water in sink.
Event in lobby playing music all night kept us awake. No one at front desk in the morning to check out and help us get ice since there is no public ice maker.
Everything. Place is dirty and run down. Smells bad.

The location was fine! Restaurants nearby.
The room was dark, plenty of lamps with no bulbs. The room was hot, with no way to adjust the air. There were 2 ceiling fans but only one worked. Had to sleep all 3 guests on same bed so we could get some air from the fan at least. Carpet in the room was filthy as was the shower curtain and tub.

Christmas decorations
First of all it took about Six hours to get the television to work, bath tub peeling, rust in bathroom, no hot water, carpet dirty and full of burnt spot, chair with dirty spots, door hard to close, shower head and handle full of calcium.

Walls thin therefore expect noise from any neighbor. The hallway smelled of dead fish. No hot water. The toilet seat was stained. The "continental" breakfast offered stale bakery items and coffee but no cups. The AC unit was loud. Furniture and curtains old.

Cleaning ladies, etc. were very nice & helpful. Owner was obnoxious. Were told we could stay 2 more nights. Then he said we could not. He was rude, impolite, unhelpful.
First girl at front desk was rude when we checked in. Were not given key to room. Told we would need worker to let us in every time. Room was on 2nd floor with no air conditioning. Would not recommend.

Don't go! Owner is a scammer and will rent your room to someone else if you show up after dinner leaving you helpless!
The hotel manager tried to scam us by saying he didn't have our reservation, which was a lie because we did have the reservation confirmed from Booking.com and it was already paid and everything. They were having an Halloween party and we only got there at near 10pm, so likely he hoped we wouldn't show up and gave our room to one of the party's guests, then saying to our face it was a mistake from Booking. I asked if we were supposed to sleep and he joked and said that was indeed a problem. Told us to call Booking or the police if we wanted, not caring at all and making fun of the situation. He didn't even tell us the wi-fi to see if we could sort the issue someway. Clearly this guy/hotel is used to making this scam and try to double their profit on some late guests by offering the same room twice! We are european tourists so this was a very scary and negligent situation. We were forced to search for overpriced alternatives in a hurry and had to drive 1 hour to Fort Lauderdale for the closest affordable hotel that had availability. This is a shame and Booking should delist this hotel now. On top of it, the place really seemed very dirty and old. The windows and door glass were all dirty outside.

spacious and well equipped living room, bed was very comfortable; kitchen appliances worked for the most part, grounds were very will kept, lovely park, nice ping-pong table and tennis court facility.
TV remote broken and missing battery; one stove burner did not work; toilet overflowed; underneath the bed looked like it had never been cleaned (used napkins, plates, etc.); no shower head; wifi very weak.

We escaped hurricane Ian to this filthy little inn. The saving grace was they let us in early so we could clean up and sleep. I'm our haste to leave, we forgot hanging clothes in the closet. It doesn't matter how many times I've tried to call, no one answers the phone. I need to get our clothes back. Please send to: Kandis Hanson, 5116 Melbourne Street, #2301, Punta Gorda, FL 33980.

The staff are very good people. It’s a historic building. It’s beautiful. It may not be the most modern looking hotel in the room and don’t look modern. But the old world charm is really cool.
