Nasty Bugs!

Great location for my business. Staff are great. Rooms are big and the beds are good. Good value.

Sorry to say, but I had to kill at least 10 bugs mostly on the ceiling. Kinda grossed me out. Thought they were bed bugs, but they could fly a little. I told the cleaning lady.

Stayed here on a recommendation because we wanted to play golf. Won’t return

The bartender was very delightful The lunch was good Pro shop didn’t charge extra for me to ride along while my friend golfed

I paid extra for a room with a golf course view but the view outside of my door was a big tree. Wasn’t happy about that. In the morning I wanted to have breakfast but the restaurant was closed and so was the office. I couldn’t return my towels checked out for the pool. Just hope I don’t get charged for them. The golf course was really overgrown and full of dead trees and plants. Heard good things about this place and was very disappointed. Wasn’t worth the price I had to pay. Won’t return or recommend

overall we had a nice time

the property is pretty. the room was clean and a nice size. the staff in the bar and grill were very nice.

the office was closed when we came to check out. check out was until 11 am. we went to check out at 10:35. there was a sign on the door that someone would be back @ 11:30. the second day of our stay we came back to the hotel around 5:30 pm and we were locked out of our room. luckily the office was open and they fixed the problem with our keycards

What a difference a year makes

Location. Stayed here last year and loved the place. This year, not so much.

Spa did not work, ice cold and filthy. Hotel operator at front desk claimed to be unaware of a problem, told us that it would be fixed but it was never touched.

Quiet and peaceful place to stay.

Very quiet, nestled at a golf course. Late check ins until 10pm, clean room, fast check-ins

Not a whole lot of dining nearby, room decor is very dated. Some neglect is readily apparent. Sinks are separating from their wall mounts. The rugs are worn. Insects. Lots of insects. Front desk unavailable until 11am guess morning shift called in sick.

A very nice place to stay with the exception of the above complaint.

Loud plumbing noise of an adjacent room running water- likely a shower. This happened LATE at night and VERY early in the morning. Impossible to sleep with this noise. Pretty much ruined the stay there.

We will be back

convenient for our stay in SD Ground beautiful as usual. we have been coming to Carlton for ten years.

Office and food not available at checkout on Monday. Sliding door to bathroom very unreliable-would not stay closed. tv was a challenge but we figured it out.

Enjoyable stay

I really like how I was treated by the women at the front desk. Had a situation arise and was taken care of quickly and without question!

Small TV in room, wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't so far away. Building could use a face lift

I had a relaxing weekend getaway, I enjoyed the pool, and I relaxed in the room.

The pool, the room was comfortable, and the staff were friendly.

Drunk people from the golf course in the parking lot and the water in the pool was a little dirty in the morning.

Carpet outdated and stained. Smelled like a retirement home and the pipes made really loud noises when we turn the water on.

Just Going to drive the 2 hours back home.

Front desk young lady was very nice, A/C worked well, water Got hot very fast, close to family function that was in town for.

Ice machine did not work, bed was a bit hard, but the worst was the constant jumping, pounding and just plain noise from the room above mine and my brothers room that was next to mine that seemed to go on for hours starting at 3am and lasting till about 730am. Called the front desk and security numbers and both went to an answering machine. Unfortunately even though this was close to the party we drove down for, we (My brother his girlfriend and myself) WILL NOT be staying at this lodge again, we will most likely just drive the 2 hours home than have to deal with the noise since we didn't sleep anyway.
