we had a reservation which we were told was nonrefundable, but we will not pay for it, and when we arrive 20 minutes before the time that we were told would be the latest we could get there there was nobody to answer us at reception. There was a sign that suggested that we call a particular number or ring the bell. We did both and there was still nobody. The hotel is kind of in the middle of nowhere and we were just going there on purpose for a wedding the next day. We drove into a nearby town and found a hotel.

Knew ahead of time breakfast was discontinued BUT a full kitchen was included with our room so we had planned accordingly.
We were interested in hiking in the Catskills so it was super convenient to return to our room to a hot shower and ability to prep our own meals.
The flatware, glasses and dishes were great but was glad we brought our own egg skillet and stainless steel camp set for cooking as often provided pots and pans are not treated kindly by other guests.

Charming, exceptionally clean, comfortable room.
Kitchenette was wonderful. Completely enchanted by the " star lites" late at night. Can't wait to go back.

This is my 2nd stay at Starlite. It is just a couple miles from Belleayre where I have engaged in PSIA instructor training last year and this week. The Starlite is OLD but comfortable, convenient, clean, and efficient. It meets my needs for these training sessions and I look forward to returning next year. I like the ease of access to the location and to the room from the parking lot. I liked the free Netflix since there was little if anything on the available cable channels. I like the kitchen, free coffee, creamers and other kitchen essentials.
The bathroom needs a serious update, specifically the shower, but the entire room in general. The sink and toilet have been updated, but I had to plunge the sink to get the drain flowing. A minor attempt to cover over the shower walls has been made with an 8 inch diameter shower head, but while it is all functional, it is still really old. The shower head, I believe, is meant to be an overhead rain shower style head so it really doesn't work well when mounted to the wall shower head. While it is large it has a very light touch and something more a hand held shower head with multiple settings would definitely work better to offer a bit more water pressure and direction.

The snow! Close to Belleayre was paramount in case we were snowed in by the Piper storm. Fantastic dinners at Peekamoose and Pine Hill Arms. Michelle at front office was wonderful. Beds and hot water showers were spot on.
Too much laundry detergent in the sheets, overpowering...and the light in the bathroom was like the truck caught on the tracks in Close Encounters, blinding...thought we were gonna get beamed up! 00

Motel is in a good location and is very quaint and nostalgic. All about room was clean and fresh.
Very nice to have kitchen facilities to fuel up to enjoy the Catskills.
Gravel driveway was dirty and make for a lot of effort not to track dirt inside.

great location for belleayre. Clean and comfortable.

Good location in a quite mountain village.
The mattresses were damaged and unusable. The shower water temperature fluctuated by itself. The hair dryer did not work. There was a screeching dog barking in the owner/manager residence area which is part of the motel.

Very quiet. :) Nice view from window. Close to hiking trails. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Many little, thoughtful, added touches that made our stay comfortable and convenient. Kitchen was well equipped and clean. Nice sitting area outside the back door by the kitchen. Even a picnic area! Overall, the room was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely book another reservation.
Not close to an early breakfast eatery. If you want to get an early start (7:00 or 8:00 am) bring your own breakfast food and prepare it in the well equipped kitchen.

The WiFi is terrible and not stable.

Nice, big rooms with a small kitchen. The beds were also above average for a hotel.
The wifi didn't have internet in our room so we had to go to the main office to use wifi

Having a completely equipped kitchen was very convenient and obviously a big plus for a longer stay. Plenty of closet space & hangers. Fairly comfortable beds. Easily accessible outlets for charging phones and drying gear. Easy access from parking lot right at the front door. Building is set back from the road to lessen the road noise of passing trucks. Easy check-in and out. Keys left in room. Never met any personnel.
Facilities are dated, but I guess part of the charm. Window in the shower & back door needs better privacy/closure since it opens directly onto the rear walkway. Front windows also need better privacy drapes covering entire window & gaps to block out morning light and drafts. Didn't mind the blue bathtub/outdated bathroom, but an easy fix would be a better shower head. The 6-inch round showerhead with 3 dozen nozzles would probably work well in an overhead application, but not very good for the wall mounted location. The updated bathroom sink was nice but leaves little counter space for toiletries alongside the sink. Never met or spoke to any personnel. Office was always closed. Check-in & check out pretty much all automatic. Need to update information booklet more than once a decade.

nice location near multiple mountains
a little noisy but that’s to be expected with a motel

it is an older motel, but well kept and seemed to have the comfort of guest in their plan. We got there late and left early ( for skiing ) so we had no contact with anyone except by phone the morning we booked. I thought the memory foam bed was very comfortable. Next time I'm in the area I would try to stay there again.

Location was nice, close to belleayre ski resort where we were going. Rooms had a cute little kitchen, liked that.
The beds were pretty lumpy, made sleep kinda uncomfortable.

Experienced a small problem the morning of our departure and the owner took care of it immediately. We will most likely stay there on our next trip to the catskills.
Best place to stay within 20 miles. Clean, comfortable, free wifi and cable tv. Ice cold mountain water. Very, friendly owner.

Very convenient to my destination - room was nice and you can see updates. Kitchen was a bonus I wasn't expecting and was great to have. Room clean, bed comfy! Cold weather but it looked like nice outdoor amenities for summer!

The sheets were the most comfortable and soft that I had slept in all week. The room was lovely and very clean for it being an older hotel. The backyard was lovely and a great space for an extended stay. Wish I wasn't just passing through.
The bed had a tilt to it where I felt as my feet were above my head.

Value and back yard facilities.
Looks run down. Hot water handle in tub gets very hot to touch after running for a while. Needed face clout to turn hot water off.

We enjoyed our stay and thought all the little unique touches added to the charm of the property. We liked the screened outside rec room...it was a lovely place to sit and have a glass of wine at the end of our day. Although we didn't use it, it was nice that each room had a picnic table and grill. Even the little gazebo out front had seats to hang out in. The property is far enough back from the road so that you don't get all the traffic noise. Loved that the rooms included a full size refrigerator. We felt the room was very clean and we liked the funky vibe of the property.
Although no fault of the motel, when a big rain storm blew through one night, the power went out from 7:30 pm until midnight. We had hoped that the motel had a generator that would kick in, but either they don't, or it wasn't working.

Their outdoor experience! The blue and aqua lights along the roof edge, the gazebo , the tables and chairs in the back.
Clean room. Kitchen in room. Owner very accomodating.

This little motel is adorable and very clean. You can definitely tell that the management cares about the details!
My ONLY 2 complaints:
1. The step into the room is very high. I don't have the strongest legs, so this was a bit of a challenge for me. If they could add a little extra step outside before it, that would help a lot.
2. The front storm door to the room (room 8) slams shut and is quite loud. We tried to be careful, but inevitably it would slam sometimes and I felt bad for our neighbors.
Aside from this, it's a very cute roadside motel and I highly recommend it!

No breakfast was offered during our stay. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare breakfast. The room was nice. Property was nice with fire pit and wood. nice lighting outside.
