The facilities were nice but certain front desk workers/managers, particularly Silvio, are prejudice
No breakfast, which is standard for a Motel 6. The room was decent sized and well maintained. The staff, save for certain front office/managerial staff members, did a good job. The location was OK. There were a decent number of places to eat or shop for basic needs not too far away. So, I have no complaints about the location.
One of the staff members, I believe his name was Silvio, working at the front desk was pretty unreasonable when I tried to stay here after I had stayed here already. He asked personal questions and did not simply do his job, which was to check a client/customer in to the motel. A customer who had paid ahead of time and had stayed there before with no complications. Then, lo and behold, after my ability to check into the room was verified, he, without no reasons whatsoever, stated, it says here "do not rent to." This was virtually unbelievable, considering I had stayed at this Motel 6, and other Motel 6s as well as other motels, with NO complications. He didn't give a legitimate reason for "not renting" to me. The only thing I can think of was that I was a homeless disabled person for a period of time. Since one of the questions he had asked was "Do you have a house?," the first and ONLY time any motel manager/front desk clerk ever asked me that question. That's when he pulled his "rabbit out of a hat," and said "it says here do not rent to..." I believe this was discrimination. Not one of the more common forms of discrimination, such as racial or sexual discrimination, but more of a "social status" discrimination. Although I had been homeless for periods of time, I was/am not an active drug addict or alcoholic and I had never inflicted any damages on any motel property. He just all of a sudden decided to "not rent" to me when he asked me if I "had a house," trying to pry into my personal information and find out if I was homeless. Even as a homeless person, I always kept myself clean and respectful of others. Unfortunately, there is a social stereotype of homeless persons, up until a point, of being lazy, disrespectful alcoholics and/or drug addicts. None of these characteristics describes me accurately.
