great staff, great ambiance, so very clean, awesome location.
a bit hard to regulate the heat in the room.
5.0
great location and cozy accommodation for winter skiing
Some TV channels were missing from their TV Guide in the room and Wi-Fi was very, very slow. Blame was put on all rooms being full (not surprised due to location etc) but full or not sometimes it was too weak to use.

Reception staff, especially Hugo, we're very helpfulness attentive. So was Michelle. Pepis bar is still a.great place for live music.
The hotel needs capital investment to bring it up to the quality it should be. Some rooms were flooded and management didn't give a damn
They offered some friends a 20% discount for a flooded room. Are you kidding me?
The hotel staff, except for reception, were like zombies or just didn't care or unfriendly.

Excellent breakfast, excellent location
4.0
This hotel is one of the originals in Vail, and in a premier location. We loved rolling out of bed and being steps away from Gondola One The rooms have comfortable beds, and the amenities modern travelers expect. Heated bathroom floor and tub were appreciated. The property has been well maintained, and
is very clean. At the same time, it is tired and would benefit from a renovation. Replacing dated tiles, stained grout that no cleaning can fix, decor, and furnishings would really propel this hotel to a 4 star hotel. I also would have appreciated a more diverse breakfast. It was quite austere with folger's coffee, and yogurt with artificial sweeteners, a tray of turkey and ham, a tray of cheese, pastries/bagels,and boxes of cereal. There was no gluten-free bread option. The breakfast room is quite small and cramped with extra chairs in the room stacked in a corner. Visually it would have been nice to have placed them in another room I would have been willing to pay more for a nice sustaining breakfast. Overall, it was a lovely stay in a prime location with good value.

This is a quaint, older hotel in the center of Vail. The people at the front desk were friendly, thorough, and helpful. We were given detailed information about parking in the free lot and finding our way back to the hotel. The rooms are a bit dated, but our room was quiet and the beds were comfortable. We really enjoyed the hot tub, steam room and sauna. It was a perfect way to relax on a snowy weekend.
The breakfast room was literally swarming with flies. There were at least 50 flies buzzing all over the dining room and landing all over everything. Fortunately, the food and drinks were all covered with plastic wrap, which makes me think that the flies have been an issue in the past. I didn't even make it to my table before a fly had landed and drowned in my oatmeal. I managed to eat couple of boiled eggs but really lost my appetite with flies everywhere and wondering where they all were coming from. The breakfast was sufficient in quantity and consisted of meat trays, some breads, packet oatmeal, and boiled eggs. They ran out of coffee, and no one was available to refill. We stayed two days but went to a nearby restaurant the next day for breakfast because the breakfast was such an unpleasant experience.

quaint-
rooms could use a frig.-microwave-porch chairs were cheap plastic and porch needed painting.

location is right in the heart if Vail village BUT not accessible by car. you must park a city block away temporarily and unload luggage and lug it to the hotel. it IS an adorable hotel with fun decorations, though.
There was no mini refrigerator in the rooms, no AC made the rooms very hot and the price as faulty high. there were no internal doors connected the rooms.

It’s so cozy.

Great breakfast Great location. Nice staff
Our booking said room with a view? Our view was of a roof. No view
2.5
The breakfast was okay but my husband took a bagel and it was very stale. There were no utensils to pick up your selections, so people were using there fingers.
The location was very convenient, however there was no parking available and we were expected to carry our luggage from a parking structure that was at least a block away.
The bed was uncomfortable and small. The room was not air-conditioned and was hot. The door had no lock from the inside and the a reendoor on our low level balcony would not lock. We felt we couldn't leave valuables in the room. I did not like that parking was not available.

We had to pay $35 per night party

Amazing in town location, just steps to everywhere. Breakfast included. Fun restaurant bar with entertainment. Beds were super comfortable. There’s parking underneath For a limited number of cars

convenience
breakfast, no fruits, had to ask for more bread

Great continental breakfast - very convenient.
Available early enough before all the ski lifts open.

Everything was good except the temperature of the room.
The only issue we had was the temperature of the room was way too hot. We were on the third floor with our heat off in March and even with ceiling fan, portable fan and humidifier it was hard to sleep each night. All other aspects of stay were great

staff was very friendly.
Bed was not very comfortable and breakfast bar wasn’t always fully stocked. The toaster and microwave will not work fairly often (overloaded electrical circuit)

Anyone that knows anything about Vail knows that Hotel Gastoff Gramshammer or “Pepi’s” is arguably the most historic place in Vail at the best ground zero location. Built by Pepi (Austrian Ski Racer) and Sheika (model, vegas dancer also Austrian) met in Aspen, got married and built “Pepi’s” in Vail in 1964 two years after Vail opened. Pepi passed away 2 years ago but Sheika is a daily presence. The location, old Vail ambiance and history make this a worthwhile experience. Been Apreing there for decades but just completed a two week stay in the hotel.
Rooms a little dated as was expected. The live music Mon - Thursday is so loud it runs people off. Weekend guy much better.

location is optimal
room was so warm. I had to keep the sliding glass door open to regulate the temperature.
