Bad Experience - Wouldn't Recommend

Staff at check in was nice

I knew this was a value type of hotel but didnt know it could be this bad. The room had an odor. The refrigerator didn't work and I lost meats as a result. Bathroom was dirty. Pillow case was stained. Outlets were limited. Had to plug in phone charger in bathroom which had no place to put things. The "continental breakfast" was very limited and cereal was stale. Knife to spread butter was so flimsy you couldnt spread it on toast. Cup for orange juice was essentially a shot glass. I am not one to complain about much but this was unacceptable.

It’s good to just sleep.

I liked how close it was to my sisters house

The towels were deeply stained and the whirlpool bathtub jets were dirty so we couldn’t use what we paid extra for.

Not worth the price. I paid $200 for what should have been $60 at most

Check in/out was easy and my room was available.

The room smelled terrible. I had to buy a bottle of fabreeze and a bottle of fabric cleaner to make it smell decent. The smell of sweat & smoke was overbearing. I still have not gotten my security deposit back i& it's been 2 days. There was also candy wrappers on the floor, Clearly visible.

Nothing at all

The room was filthy and when i stripped the dirty beds down the mattress covers were urine stained. When i tried to call the front desk the phone did not work. I went to the office and was told no housekeepers were there and i would be brought new sheets and blankets to change the beds myself. I took the clerk back to the room and showed him and he seemed not to care. The gym and pool were not operational. I asked for a refund which he did give us but we had to leave right then. We ended up leaving our gathering very early to make the 4 hour drive home

The location, mini-frig

Bedding was unusual and difficult to figure out. Room smelled of insecticide or disinfectant. Impossible to keep outside light from coming into the room. Found 3 dead bugs in bathroom on arrival.

It was an okay stay if you’re just passing though.

The property was in a nice location. There was a Plaza next Store, a nice breakfast diner some stores. the beds were comfortable and new sheets. The girl that just started ( I didn’t get her name) she said she’s only been there for about a week, she was very nice.

This property says it has a pool. They said they haven’t had their pool going in over a year. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned properly the mirror wasn’t wiped down and their was hair in the sink. I booked a non smoking room and when I checked in very late the room was definitely smoked in and my room did not have a sign on the door saying it was a non smoking room like the rest of the rooms did. The next morning I asked to switch into a different room the girl said yes I can that housekeeping just needs to clean it when they check out. We were packing to switch rooms when the front desk agent came to my room ( she was very nice) but said her manager came in and said there were no rooms for me to switch into they can’t do anything about it and if I want I can check out of the room and find another place to stay! First off I couldn’t, everywhere was sold out! I was shocked that management didn’t come to the door or even call me to discuss this matter with me. They didn’t even try to accommodate me! So I did call booking to file a complaint ! Booking asked if they can at least clean the room or the air. I assumed maybe they can put an ionizer in my room, but they didn’t do that either. I did come back later on that evening to a fragrance in the outlet with fresh towels, but my towels had stains on them when I went to shower the next morning.

Will not stay again! Too expensive for poor quality room!

The outside looked inviting!

Outdated room! Rickety furniture! Very outdated carpet! Cleanliness was a ZERO! Looked under the bed and was very filthy housekeepers need to learn to clean! First room jacuzzi jets full of dried mold and the second room the Jacuzzi was clean but tiles around it were moving when stepped on. I could go on but I think you get the idea!

They will steal your deposit.

These people are thieves! They ask to leave a $100 deposit. When I checked out they told me I couldn’t get my money back because there was a stain on a pillow case. I explained that the pillow was like that when I checked in. They kept my deposit. The manager was no help.

Never, again!! Such a dump. Not at all worth the $130.00 I paid maybe worth $20.00

The only good thing about this place was the staff. They were pleasant

First thing we noticed were blood stains on the bed sheets. 2nd was the smoke detector, or complete lack of. The home where the smoke detector once was had red wires hanging out of it. In my experience red wires are live wires. This breaks several electrical codes, building codes and fire codes. All these issues have been documented in pictures. The bathroom had little black gnats flying around. And the least of the problems was the curtains falling of the curtain rod. In addition the room smelled of cigarettes and mold and was a mess. I tried contacting the manager but every time I called the phone just rings and no one answered

they did return 100.00 deposit for room with a hot tub. not much of a continental breakfast.

The bed was comfortable, air conditioning worked. tubs were clean.

Be aware

The room we eventually got moved to was nice & had just been nicely decorated. The location & parking was good.

The staff on arrival were very standoffish. I had accidentally booked a smoking room & did not realise. 3 of my group had asthma so we asked to change rooms, having seen that non smoking rooms were available online for the same price. I work in customer service & am a very polite person. The male receptionist was extremely rude to us & said "the only room I have clean right now is a smoking room. You need to deal with that or walk away." After a few back n forths we agreed to view the room for 4 of us that was a smokers room & the other 2 of our group went to their non smoking room. The room was beyond a joke with the smell & we were unable to stay there. I checked again online to see there were rooms available for this night & my friend & I went back down to reception to see if they could help us. The guy on reception pulled a face at his colleague when we came in. I said I wasn't happy with the room as it was a really strong smell of smoke, I asked again about another room & told him I could see online there are non-smoking rooms available, so why couldn't we switch as they must be clean if they're online. He replied "listen, I know what your type are like. You're from a camp and you will wreck the place. I didn't want to give you this because the room has just been redecorated and I don't want it to be wrecked." I said "what do you mean you know my type?! I haven't even said that I work at a camp, I'm just here with friends for a night off. We will not be 'wrecking' anything." He said "no I know what you campers are like, you wreck our rooms. But anyway, I will give you a key to a non smoking room that has just been refinished & it cannot be wrecked." His colleague then piped in very aggressively to say "I'm on the next shift tonight and if there is any hassle you will be out on the street.

Clean room, friendly staff, great experience.

I never really expect much when it comes to Torrington, but I was surprised to find that this place was super clean and comfy! We’ll definitely continue to stay here when visiting family

Dismal at best.

Room was large enough.

Room was not in very good repair. Curtains were missing. Thought I was booking a handicap room but it was not. No room service Saturday. Had to call for clean towels. Never stopped to eat after looking just once. Very over priced.
