IT’s location
The staff were very rude and the rooms were filthy they promised me and my family a service they couldn’t deliver and still charged us. Dogs are additional cost and the amount of scatterd poop is awful. Rooms are filled with off grey towels and mosquitoes on the wall. Rooms need to be updated. I do not recommend.

It was ok. Nothing spectacular.
3.4
It was clean.
The bed was hard and had a metal skirt around it. whenever one of turned over it would make noises. The heater was noisy. The hair dryer didn’t work.
3.4
The owner was great
3.4
It was close to town, okay
No breakfast, needs to be update, at least the room we were in, this was the highest price place we stayed in, disappointed in the quality

Receptionist (SAM) was nice and welcoming. He answered questions those are asked.
Room is dirty, my family has to clean the floor before settling down. Restroom tiles are bent, awkward to walk. Bed sheet/cover etc. seemed not cleaned enough. Wireless did not work until we came outside which made us get out of the room to use it. Property did not have washer/dryer service. I had to use laundry service from a near gas station which caused us to miss lighting show at mount rushmore. Rate was lucrative and people will fall for it (like me). But when I have checked other places, I found the similar price. So it was not worth it. This property has already charged me few days back, so I could not change my mind. I will not fall for this in future.

Staff was friendly.
The place was being painted so it was a little hectic and all the windows had paper and tape on them. Not anybody's fault and stuff has to get done sometime. Should be really nice when they are done.

on the room door was broken. the lamps were
broken. not recommended

The rooms were clean and had plenty of space. The AC worked well. The rooms were quiet.
The breakfast was a bit lacking in selection but overall, it was fine.
3.4
Cozy small room. Good AC. Hot shower. Clean. Comfy bed and pillows. Not far from monuments. Friendly family owned motel. No frills. Budget motel.
Nonexistent wifi.

The property is an old hotel not well taken care off. It should be have of I payed rate.
There is a modified continental breakfast, not breakfast as they advertised.
3.4
very close to all the Keystone action and Mt Rushmore . The breakfast was simple but adequate. The staff were very friendly and helpful
The cabins are a little tired and the structure a bit droopy, the QS bed was probably one of the most uncomfortable we have stayed in!
3.4
Close to Mount Rushmore, good price
Bed was very uncomfortable, room was small, bathroom was so small it was not usable. Air-conditioning was inadequate. Breakfast consisted of a few mini-muffins.
3.4
Bed was comfortable. The parking space for my boat and truck was nice.
The bathroom had no place to put our soaps. The floor was warped/cracked along the bottom of the floor. (where insects can come in). No lights in the eating area, not enough food options all you have. Only bagels and blue muffins, one tiny toaster..

The guy running the Brookside was a good guy but that is all the good I can say about it.
Booking.com booked me in a motel in Custer, SD that was closed down so I ended up at the Brookside after getting notified by the former owner about the Custer motel. Because I booked through booking.com for this room too, I ended up paying a lot more thinking it was a fancy place. Boy, was I disappointed! Brookside is old and run down. Booking.com did me not just give me one slap in the face on this trip but two. I will not use their services ever again!

Sam went out of his way to accommodate us with any requests we had. The breakfast was good. The bed was comfortable, shower had plenty of hot water, we had a room with no steps to get to it as we had requested, and Sam was very helpful with suggestions.
A little more cleaning/dusting of furniture and fan blades and general maintenance of facility (window locks, toilet seat tightening, outside area) would help.

I arrived very late, staff was accommodating in having my key ready, and giving me directions to my room.
I left early the next morning to be at Mt. Rushmore for sunrise.
The bathroom was up 4 steps from where the bed was, not convenient in the middle of the night.

Location of the Hotel.
Stuff wasnt working in hotel room.

There was black mold in the bathroom. The manager was nice. A little over priced for what you are getting.

Nothing went well. We had booked two nights but left after the first night. We had checked in around 7:30pm the first night, otherwise would have left If we could have found another hotel. We will not get a refund for the second night.
Room 121. Worn dirty carpet, room smelled bad, dingy white towels, no soap or shampoo, empty tissue holder, old furniture and lumpy mattress, up a flight of old wooden steps that had a loose handrail and split wood steps, no breakfast offered, check in man was taking a personal call on his cell phone the whole time I checked in, left early the next day and different man taking a personal call on his cell phone outside and just told me to go in and put the key on the office counter. We paid almost $300 for this experience. The place is a dump and looks nothing like the pictures and write-up.

The king size bed was very comfortable. Breakfast included toast, bagels, cinnamon rolls, hard boiled eggs and 3 varieties of cereals and tea or coffee.
The spa tub wasn't able to be used because it leaked, which was disappointing. The decor was a little tired looking. Could use some updating. More furniture other than small table and 2 chairs to sit on would've been helpful.

Breakfast was good. Same thing every morning but that was o.k.
We stayed 3 nights and didn’t have hot water till our last night. We told the owners on the 1st night and they said a breaker was tripped and it should be fixed. Not. Told them the next morning and it was fixed by the last morning. Also it wasn’t real clean and the 2nd bed was broke which we told them about. They said a new one was on order but not in yet. They tried their best to be helpful and were very nice. Their kids had painted rocks with cut sayings on them and were placed on each porch/deck. The location was great and close to the main shopping area. I don’t like to complain. And all in all we had a great time in Keystone:)

This is a old rundown motel given some fresh paint, and called good. (Putting lipstick on a pig)
Located right on a main road heading out of town, noisy through the cracks in the door and window that wotld not lock closed!

Good location, clean and friendly place.
