Exceptional

Scranton Seahorse Inn was easy to find just off the main street of Madison. Check-in was well-prepared for guests to take their keys with instructions to locate the room prepared for them. The entire first floor was common area with a large dining room and two smaller sitting rooms. The front room contained a library of DVDs. Beautifully decorated. The room and bed were extremely comfortable. There is a TV in every room with ability to insert a DVD, controls are on the side of the TV. Coffee or tea was available in reception area. Breakfast included juices, morning cakes and homemade waffles with fruit compote and sausage patty. Very pleasant stay on New Year's Eve. Very quiet, very pleasant. Madison is beautiful. Highly suggest visiting Meig's Point Nature Center.

I have no suggestions except possibly instructions on how to play a DVD on the TV. The remote did not work for movies. Fortunately my husband figured it out quickly.

we had a lovely time

the location was great. The downstairs area was very pretty and spacious. The breakfasts were also very good.

our room was nice - but the bed was very high - I could have used a stool to get into bed. the house is very old so the floor in the bedroom was slanted - not a big surprise.

Nice B&B

The breakfast was very good. It was definitely not a typical breakfast.

The only reason we stayed at the Inn was because i wasnt going to Conneticut and stay in a basic motel. We just spent the night on our way to Boston so for a B&B i thought the rate was high. Maybe that is normal for the area.

Lovely stay in charming town

Nice location in small seaside town - charming house and Mike took good care of us Great breakfast - with fresh fruit and cooked every day Beach towels and parking tickets was offered for access to beach

Second time here in 4 months….lovely, quiet and peaceful

This was my second time at the Inn in 4 months. No better place to go for peace and quiet. Location is great…walk to the center and right down the road from the beach. Breakfasts can’t be beat! Michael the innkeeper is awesome!

Happy Place!

The Inn was cozy and relaxing. The location is great for walking in downtown Madison. The property owner is very welcoming of dogs. Our dog, Murray enjoyed his stay!

A wonderful stay!! Would go back!

Room was comfy and sweet. Michael was awesome and breakfast was delicious!!! Had great conversations with other guests over breakfast which made for an even better stay! Location is excellent too! Loved it!

Enjoyed playing cards on the outside porch... Liked the breakfast sandwich. I would definitely come back.

Bed was too soft but we all have different preferences. Missed not having a fire.

Lovely place, lovely people, lovely stay! We hope to be back!

Accommodations were made for those who could not eat in the dining room. Loved the private porch off our room. Pet friendly room with easy access to outdoors. We arrived early and Michael made an extra effort to have our room ready sooner so we could nap after driving all night. So convenient to downtown shops, restaurants and beaches.

Would have appreciated coffee service in the room.

Exceptional Inn & Service

Absolutely love the Scranton Seahorse Inn, beautiful and comfortable furniture & bedding. We enjoying the outdoor seating areas as well, early morning and evening to wind down, weather was perfect. Michael prepares the absolute best breakfast, you will not leave this dining room hungry. We’ll be back again when we visit the area.

This is my favorite B&B! I stay in them a lot when I travel and this is the very best!

As always, breakfast was superb. Michael is welcome to come home with me anytime -- but then I would probably end up weighing 200 pounds! I love the atmosphere of the house! And the location can't be beat. Right across the street from the newly enlarged library and right downtown! An easy walk to town beaches.

The weather could have cooperated a little more. I came prepared for some beach/pool time - didn't get it! I packed shorts - didn't need them, needed sweatshirts or a sweater. Gave me an excused to do a bit of shopping! That is never a problem. There are a lot of changes taking place in Madison. Most of the ones I saw will be an asset. There were a few that really don't fit the town. That's the opinion of a long time resident. We don't like too much change!

Michael is always available and attentive. Breakfast wonderful! Clean room and amenities are also good. TV had a DVD player and many choices of DVD in library.

New mattress is needed in #2. Other small things in room need fixing. Light in closet, could not find switch and closet doorknob fell off.

Exceptional

Michael greeted me when I arrived and helped with my bag. After settling in, I sat outside in the peaceful yard to read. My room was comfortable and quiet. Excited to have breakfast in the morning and was not disappointed. Chose to sit in the dining room and enjoyed a gourmet meal before headed for a short ride to the beach. All and all, a nice stay.

Really peaceful stay in a great location with excellent hosts.

Michael and Theo,(Canine)., were excellent hosts. Michael makes a big effort to produce something different for breakfast every morning which is great. His pastries are wonderful!! Michael is very obliging and helpful with insights on the Madison and Connecticut areas and is always willing to assist with recommendations for places to visit, eat or to go for a drink.

Overall it is very hard to find anything to complain about regarding our stay or with our experience at the Scranton Seahorse Inn. The house is very old which may not suit people who are looking for a latest spec modern facility but to me, and all of my family, that is exactly what makes the Scranton more homely and unique and indeed peaceful.
