We enjoy our stays at Shadow Mountain Lodge.

Check-in was easy. We love the outdoor seating right outside of the room -perfect for watching deer and the hummingbirds.

Wish the restroom/sink area wasn't so dark....and the tub didn't drain well when showering.

We loved it, and we look forward to staying again.

The outdoor areas were so beautiful, and the cabin was immaculate.

Very Dissapointed in the management for letting it get run down and collecting higher fees!

The location has always been our favorite place to stay. We especially enjoyed the wildlife including the Hummingbirds!

Already sent an evaluation! Property is getting run down and the management company appears to be just after the money! Very apathetic in attitude and maid service was only when someone left! There was trash and laundry in chairs outside of rooms overnight. We had asked for a handicap room and thought that's what we were getting since my wife has had several stokes but, we did not. Front desk did not seem to care about that we did not and we were on our own for anything else as well. We'll be staying somewhere else the next trip! This used to be our favorite place to get away to! NOT ANYMORE!!!!!

a good place for couples getaway .. Definitely we will come back again. fire place :) the room style decoration 🥰 early check in /late check out if the lodge is available clean and quiet ( during spring break) nice area: nature, restaurants, parks, …. etc pet friendly for $35 per stay

we would love to stay there again. we enjoyed our stay. We like everything, and here are our suggestions There is only one fire log to burn, I wish if they can provide more, for example one for each night of the stay… Bath tub was clean, but I wish if they upgraded it to a better bigger newer one .

Overall the perfect getaway spot remotely close to everything, room was cozy and well designed. I loved my stay

Well it didn’t seemed to be quite booked when I went but I still ended up right next to the other people (3 tenants).

It is a very relaxing place to stay. It snowed while we were there so we enjoyed our stay even more. Internet worked great and the TV selections were very good.

We were in the Hummingbird room and the toilet wouldn't flush. Taking a shower or bath was difficult sine faucets didn't operate as normal.

Check-in process was awful, but the room was alright. The grounds were lovely.

There were no directions at the property about how to find the check-in location which was 3-4 blocks away. We had to walk around and around the entire property until we found another guest who told us where they had found it.

at check in we were desperate to check out, that said we just escaped few hours later and abandoned the premises.

it was not as expected. Our unit was the main house however it looks like use to be the old office and converted in a dwelling. It doesn’t look right, 10 feet away from the main road, no soap, no amenities, no privacy, litter creepy, definitely it is not a place to disconnect from the city instead a place to wonder what the hell we are doing here.

N/A - did not eat breakfast.

Coffee pot not cleaned - had been left on and contents burned down. Had to clean before use. Batteries in clothes-hanging area light were run down. Matches for fireplace - none found.

We have stayed twice already and have never had any bad experiences until now :(

We like the location of the lodge.

When we walked into the cabin, there was an ugly smell - musty....we turned on the ceiling fan and a/c unit and it seemed to help. There was also some sticky stuff on the floor next to the fridge, like it hadn't been cleaned very well. Lastly, there were no logs in the room for the fireplace....we called the office to inquire about them, but never went to pick one up.

Nice visit to Ruidoso. Not much time spent at lodging. May move up the road next year(literally).

Bedding UNDER the sheets--old and messy. Bear motif is growing old. Insufficient cups and glasses. Ice machine did not work. New toilet was nice. Location is good.

This was our fourth stay at this location in the last 25 years or so. Each stay was enjoyable.

Room was comfortable and clean. Housekeeping was responsive to requests. Location is great.

The floor in our unit (113) had been redone (new laminated wood planking) and there were several spots that popped when stepped on. Almost impossible to walk to kitchen or bathroom at night without waking spouse. If you want to watch anything meaningful on TV, you'll need to enter your credentials for any streaming services you want. There is no basic cable package available that allows you to get news, weather, and sports from standard broadcast channels.

Good stay but not a good nights sleep. Needs new mattresses.

I loved how quiet the location is. Really peaceful.

The bed. Mattress was old and had dis where people had been sleeping in the same spots for years. Needs new mattresses.
