Room was clean and spacious!! Good price for 800 sq. Ft. Apt style room with two separate bedrooms, which is perfect for teens or a group of friends. My family loved the complimentary treats and coffee! Building and grounds were beautiful. Neighborhood was quiet at night. Loved the self check-in and free parking. Parking was easy to find and not crowded. Location and easy access to the highway was convenient to get around town. I think the thing I loved the most was that the business is a non-profit that assists individuals with autism! As a social worker, it was really nice to see that places like this can thrive and make positive changes in people's lives. I felt much better about staying here than at anything owned by a corporation concerned only for their profit margins.
Shower head was slightly loose and needed tightening in order for the shower head to spray downward. The welcome email eluded to the room key code being sent in another document, but it was the same as the door key code in the welcome email, which was a bit confusing. I'm a breakfast person, so instead of complimentary cookies and brownies, if one of them were a muffin or cinnamon roll, that would be perfect!!!

I liked the area, the atmosphere, and the bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and welcoming. The air system was very loud.
I don't appreciate contactless service, though the person on the phone was very helpful and kind. I had trouble getting into the garage to park my car. Leaving a copy of my ID and credit card# on the desk was a no go for me, but it was handled very nicely and respectively by the phone contact. I would stay again, and check-in would be smoother, now that I understand. Need to fix bathroom outlet. Their hair dryer blew the breaker.

Clean and spacious rooms. Very quiet facility. Great for independent travelers who don’t need the frills of a traditional hotel/motel.
the only slight inconvenience was parking which is not onsite but is available just down the street.

Never saw staff cause of Covid protocols. We had to ask for fresh towels.

Erik’s Retreat is run by a non profit that employs people with autism. The rooms are clean and the grounds are beautiful.

We did not do breakfast. We were told the room had Apple TV. It did not. We were also told the room had a toaster. It did not.
Could have used cable to in the very least.

Nice quiet area and easy to find. Very well kept grounds, neat and clean inside. Spacious rooms, clean rooms. Fresh clean linens, more than enough pillows and towels. Would stay again.
Even though the room was nice, fresh and clean the bed was really hard, too firm for us. The binder of information was good but unclear about the breakfast, didn't state if we needed to call to request, just stated it would be brought to us by the concierge.

Liked the antique furniture. Made for a different atmosphere than standard hotel stay. I like bring able to help folks with autism. If some of proceeds from. My stay go to help people have a camp experience, I'm happy to help.
Being greeted by a human upon arrival. Having tours available as stated in the guest services book.

Very elegant rooms and cleanliness. Great location off the main road and the Edina neighborhood is in a wealthy part of town. It was close to many restaurants. I called twice before I arrived, the staff was very friendly. The snacks in the room are a nice personal touch. The bedding and towels were high quality.
There's nothing to not love about this place.

Clean and spacious room.
NO hospitality, description of the property needs to note that Erik's retreat is a handful of rooms in an otherwise abandoned 52-year old 4-story former assisted living facility. It's kinda creepy, especially since absolutely no staff was on the premises the weekend I spent there.

Very quiet/very clean/comfortable pillows/plentiful hot water with good water pressure
No soap/body wash for the shower. Never saw any staff

Location was perfect for planned eye surgery. Meals were not provided due to Covid19.
Sink stopper disconnected. Staff repaired but, it failed again.

It was quite peaceful and the room was beautiful.
Because I was traveling alone and am a senior, I was concerned about the safety of virtual check-in, lack of personnel on premises and parking situation. Even though I had a good experience, I will not stay there again.

I loved the big rooms and easy access - no cards to deal with to open doors. LOVED the big rooms. Very comfortable and beds were good. Quiet. When we did have any interaction with the staff they were very nice
Liked the furniture and the block out drapes.
I would go to this hotel if I had a car and could get to food and shopping and wanted privacy/quiet.
Was not staffed during the weekends. Said it would have daily cleaning/ towels/etc. didn’t see a soul until we were walking out on Sunday. We did leave a day early NOT entirely the fault of Erik’s.
We had a toilet that had a slow leak and we used all of our towels to soak up the water- so needed more and was told to only call a number of it was an emergency. Welllll- didn’t seem like an EMERGENCY but was uncomfortable not knowing what to do. Also did not have continental breakfast as was advertised in rooms. Put that down to Covid

Spacious, easy access to restaurants.
Cleanliness.

Near good restaurants, freeway, shopping; large, spacious rooms, comfy furniture, privacy shades still permitted ample light to enter, GREAT snacks, refrigerator. Very calming color schemes, really nice toiletries and towels; friendly staff.
Aging building had very strong musty smell in common areas and in rooms;
A/C very hard to manage. One room we stayed in was absolutely freezing 24/7 and when we asked for maintenance to adjust there was no change. In the other room the arctic blast started at midnight when it was entirely unnecessary. Carpets and upholstery had stains that I easily removed with the washcloth and a little bit of soap and water. Not sure if cleaning staff needs more training and if housekeeping manager does consistent inspections. One room had an awesome updated shower; the other had an older shower with a much lighter water flow. If you are a traveler who likes unique lodgings and tolerates quirky accommodations, this IS the place to stay.

no food available
It would have been nice to have food, but we had't expected it during COVID.

Interesting spot to stay and it was near where we needed to be.
Parking was a little odd. Only had one towel for 2 people.

We could not get access to our room ( the key pad was not working) after we got in the building on one of the evenings of our stay. It took an hour for someone to come and help us. The emergency number we were given was not responded to. We had to go find someone in the building to help us.

Very central to Edina. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Staff was helpful during the pandemic.
