The farmhouse benefits from the luxury of an outdoor 6-seater hot-tub situated in the privacy of the main garden with fantastic panoramic views.
The perfect way to start the day - watch the sun come up over the mountains or to end an active day of cycling, walking or skiing - lay back and look at the stars.
The heated pool in the main garden has great views across the valley and across to the Pic Du Midi.

The property can comfortably accommodate maximum 15 guests with 7 bedrooms. 2 living areas and 4 bathrooms.

Ideally placed to explore the mountains. Great golf nearby.
The farmhouse and gardens have a number of private living areas.

Absolutely perfect for groups. Great location for cycling - straight out of the door access to Col d’Aspin, Col de Peyresourde, Col de Menté, Col des Ares, Col d’Aubisque, Port de Bales and of course the Col du Tourmalet.

Fantastic walks from the easy rolling hills of the Baronies to the higher challenges of GR10. Great skiing at St Lary (30 minutes) the biggest ski area in the Pyrenees.

Recent Review:
Pyrenees paradise - we keep coming back!

The Escala Gite is one of our favourite destinations and we continue to come back each year during May, both for group cycling holidays, and more recently in June for a family holiday with our young children.

Over the years we have seen the Farmhouse occupancy grow as further extensions have been developed, allowing us to host cycling groups.

Due to the expansive layout of the gite, multiple living areas and generous numbers of toilets and bathrooms, the place never feels crowded at all, everyone has plenty of personal space, as well as the opportunity to socialise.

The gite’s location is absolutely perfect for cyclists, with easy and direct access to number of famous valleys.
The base of Col d’Aspin is only a 23km valley ride from the gite, Hourquette is 28km and the major climbs of St Lary only 36kms.
Alternatively Luchon and its famous climbs is only a 50km valley ride away.
The hardest decision we have each day is trying to decide which legendary Col to cycle!

After a long day of riding, both the outdoor pool and hot tub are very welcoming!
There are also a number of running and walking trails in the area in stunning surroundings with beautiful scenery.

If you’d prefer to have a more relaxing break, Edenvik thermal spa is only a 15 minute drive away and the golf course is only 5mins.

The site is easily accessible from the A64, and while Lannemezan is only a 5 min drive (to all major supermarkets), the gites location is very private and secluded, with only the odd vehicle or tractor passing the lane it is situated on.

Our two young children love visiting the site - there is so much for them to do both onsite form playing outside, in the pool, in the games area or walking through he nearby fields to the local village - it is children’s paradise and very safe haven.
The local Demi Lune park is a must visit for anyone with children!

Graham is a fantastic host and nothing is too much of an ask for him.
He is great to communicate with, speaking both English and French.
The gite is a great getaway from the world - it’s rustic charm is authentic and quirky.

We’re looking forward to returning next year already!

I cannot put into words how good our time in Escala was. Graham was absolutely incredible as a host, and the house is impeccable. It’s a perfect getaway for friends and family, in the most scenic picturesque location. The house has everything: a pool, jacuzzi, plenty of common areas, a second house!! It’s honestly one of the best places we have rented as a group, and hope that many others get to experience the place the way we did. Thank you Graham for a marvelous stay!

We rented the gite with 5 families and we had an excellent holiday. The view and location is phenomenal. The children enjoyed the streams and rivers in the area, in addition they had not had enough of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and of course the game room. Unfortunately too short. Also, on behalf of our families, I would like to express great praise to Fiona who was a great help. The owner Graham is a real gentleman and is always there for you. Highly recommended for those looking for a relaxed and beautiful holiday home 👍🏞.

We were a family party of 6, ranging from 9 to 71. We all enjoyed it for different reasons. The kids (young & old) loved the games room & pool. The adults were very content to sit outside admiring the view and the local produce, with occasional dips in the pool and the hot tub. It isn't the smartest venue but it doesn't pretend to be; it is immensely charming and the décor doesn't matter when the view is as stunning as it is. Graham couldn't have been a better host: charming, helpful, flexible and funny. I would recommend this for any gathering of friends and/or family who want a place that they can completely relax

Over the years we have seen the Farmhouse occupancy grow as further extensions have been developed, allowing us to host cycling groups of 24 guests (with extra capacity still available). Due to the expansive layout of the gite, multiple living areas and generous numbers of toilets and bathrooms, the place never feels crowded at all, everyone has plenty of personal space, as well as the opportunity to socialise The gite has two independent fully functional kitchens which can comfortably seat 30+ guests during the cooler evenings, however during the warmer evenings dining outside with the view of the mountains is far preferred! The gite’s location is absolutely perfect for cyclists, with easy and direct access to number of famous valleys. We were there to ride our bikes so the location and facilities were perfect,we've stayed before so no surprises and it’s quite rustic and quirky which I like. If you are Cycling or doing outside activities this is perfect , if you like things a bit sparkly and dainty then probably not for you. Big bedrooms good kitchen facilities, plenty of showers and toilets and loads of comfy seating . Great outside space for the good weather. Really nice swimming pool and hot tub for post cycling. One thing Graham needs to fix is the Wi-fi which is only just better than dial up...and certainly can’t cope with multiple occupancy.not good enough for the modern needs and you would expect this for a premium priced property.

I celebrated my 30th birthday along with a group of 23 other friends last weekend. Graham's place really is perfect, it is very spacious but also cosy. You don't feel like you are living on top of each other as there are quite a few different areas to sit and chat in. The sun came out on our lasy day and it was just perfect sitting in the garden enjoying the view of the pyrenees. Although I did not meet Graham, he could not have been more helpful, replying to all of my questions extremely quickly and being generally very flexible and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed in Sept 17', a group of 18 friends with 3 children. The house was ideal for our group, had everything we needed and was in a great location. We could walk through quiet roads to the nearest town, or it was a 5 minute drive to a supermarket. Thoroughly recommended.
