About this apartment rental
Luxuriuos apartment of 200 square meters, completely renovated in 2014, located on the second floor of a sixteenth century palace in the heart of Venice. The house is 'L', according to the type of Italian homes already restored at the end of 800, with two long corridors which overlook the rooms.
It consists of an entrance hall with a conversation sofa, a large lounge with leather sofas, Italian-built, four large double bedrooms, one with a four poster bed and another with a private bathroom with a spa tub. The kitchen is modern and comfortable, while maintaining a romantic style, and is complete with all appliances: fridge, freezer, electric fan oven, microwave, hob with four burners, toaster, moka coffee maker, kettle (kettle ); the door leads to the main terrace of about 45 square meters, a rarity in a city like Venice. Also in the bright dining room facing south leads to the second terrace, which thanks to the great location allows you to soak up the sun even in winter. The three bathrooms provide a great comfort to the guests: the blue bathroom is complete with shower while the green offers great relaxation with a spa bath.
We chose Art Deco design to combine with furniture of the late nineteenth century and details of more modern taste, recreating the atmosphere of an elegant home experienced by a family for four generations.
In a few minutes walk you can reach the Rialto Bridge, the true heart of the city, Piazza San Marco, the seat of secular and religious power of the Serenissima, and the Basilica of SS. Giovanni e Paolo, a great example of Gothic architecture and Baroque monuments inside.
Bedsheets and towels included.
Cleaning fee: 70€.
Damage deposit may be asked.
Dogs are welcome with prior consent at the cost of one extra cleaning fee (70€).
Tourist tax due at check-in.

Our family of 5 adults stayed at this property during the first week of July. Communication, check-in & check-out were easy and precise. Not sure if I missed the hotel tax in the description but it's roughly 20E/day.
The 4bd/2.5ba apartment is very large and clean. The bedrooms are very big and there is plenty of seating in the living rooms. We didn't use the kitchen except for keeping beverages cool and refilling the ice trays and ate out for most meals. The primary bedroom has a stairway (4 steps) leading from the sleeping area to the bathroom with the jacuzzi tub with shower wand which might be a concern if you are less stable on your feet and showering is a little unusual unless you're used to the configuration. The other bathroom has a stand-up shower. The A/C units in the bedrooms and living room worked efficiently.
We enjoyed the location (near St. Apostoli) and found it convenient for using Water Taxis instead of Vaporettos to/from the airport & train station, which minimized carrying luggage through the city.
Lots of restaurants of varying quality are close and apartment book provides several enjoyable recommendations. We didn't find the stairs though we packed light (carry-on & personal item). If you travel with several large pieces of luggage or have difficulty carrying it up a few flights of stairs, it's something to consider as there is no elevator.
Overall, we found it to be a good value and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

The apartment is very spacious, clean, the location is superb. Air conditioning is fantastic, but you have to pay extra for it. The terrace is sunny and great for breakfasts
The only downside is that there is no elevator, so you have to carry a suitcases to levels by the stairs

Francesco and Maria were quick to reply to questions and needed repairs and offered suggestions for travel and eating. There are 52 steps up to the apt so pack lightly as there is no lift. While the apt had been renovated the building's common entry and hallways were more like NYC tenaments with peeling paint and no lighting and the outer door to the building that should have locked shut did not even latch close. The 4 bedrooms worked well for our large group but for those who get up during the night to pee be aware 2 bedrooms require walking through the dining room to access a bathroom the other 2 have bathrooms close by. In addition to the rental fee, gov't tourist tax and security deposit (the last 2 must be paid in cash or by paypal at check-in) the owners will take an electric meter reading at the start of the stay. If your usage exceeds a "reasonable" amount you will have an electric fee deducted from your deposit. We were not high use follks so it wasn't a problem but if you leave lights on or run the AC excessively you can expect a deduction from your deposit.

You can’t ask for anything else from this stay. The apartment is perfect for a family of 6. 2 balconies and 2 bathrooms with an extra toilet. Beds were comfortable. The location is incredible for such a large apartment. Would love to stay again.

We had an amazing stay at this apartment - communication was fantastic - we were met off the waterbus by Francesco who showed us where everything was - 7 adults in one home and we never felt on top of each other - Venice was very hot and the terrace was perfect - we were all meeting here for our daughters wedding and this apartment made the stay better than we could have hoped for - we hosted a post wedding brunch and it looked beautiful - We loved our stay and the welcome we received

Lovely, but read the "fine" print...
Very lovely apartment on the 3rd floor with no elevator. The kitchen is nicely renovated. We were not given garbage bags for the "daily trash collection" you are required to do while staying at this home. (Instead we were told to "use our shopping bags"). Make sure to bring several hundred euros for a security deposit and also cash for tax and air conditioner fees. It definitely did not feel like a warm welcome. You are better off taking a water taxi right to the home instead of the water bus. We took the water bus, and ended up walking 25 minutes (with suitcases in hand) up and down stairs, across several bridges and then up another several flights of stairs once inside the building.

Beautiful apartment with lots of space and great amenities
We really enjoyed our stay. We were pretty worn out from pounding the pavements of Venice to see the Biennale in a day, and the apartment was such a welcome refuge. It has all of the comforts of a home away from home with a nice kitchen and laundry facilities. I could not ask for anything more.

Francesco was very helpful and reliable. For a family of 8 people this was the perfect and stylish stay. In particular, we enjoyed a well equipped kitchen and the large table in the shade on the terrasse. The location close to Rialto Bridge is perfect for reaching nearly any spot in Venice - even Gardini - by walking winthin 15-25 minutes - often faster than by Vaporetto. Air conditioning is available!

Fabulous apartment in a great location!
Lovely apartment, well and very comfortably furnished. Warm and very clean with scrupulously clean bedding and towels!
Great location - near to Grand Canal and easy walking distance of Rialto Bridge and St Marks Square. Lots of very good restaurants nearby.
Hosts very friendly and informative
Great stay - thank you!!

Terrific stay in comfortable apartment
The apartment is as pictured and in a great location. Quiet location facing courtyard. So close to Rialto Bridge and walkable to sites. In Cannaregio, so lots of locals in the area and great restaurants off the beaten path of poor tourist places. Small grocery store nearby and large grocery a reasonable walk. Stayed with a group of 8 people and it worked well. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms accommodated us well. Good kitchen decently equipped for cooking in. Large dinning area with table and chairs for 8. Nice living room for hanging out too. Bonus, set of guidebooks in in the apartment for Venice and Italy — very handy. Large terrace off the kitchen with table, which would be great in warm weather. Communication with Francesco was exemplary and welcome and check in was warm and efficient. Great recommendations for shops in the area. Good value for price. Highly recommend.

Lovely Stay in Venice
The property is on point. The owner was very friendly and informative. The property is situated in a great neighborhood and near all the great shopping and St Marco Plaza. The property is in the third floor but have in mind that these are 16th Buildings, there is no elevator in the building,, to us it was no big deal. It would rent this property again and again, the owner and his Sister are Superb and make you feel very welcome and happy in a home away from home..

Wonderful place for two families.
The appartement is very spacious and a wonderful place to stay for two families. The proprietor was very friendly and helpful upon arrival and departure. The location and neighbourhood are fantastic, lively once you enter the street, quiet inside the appartment. The only drawback was that in one of the 4 bedrooms, a loud ticking noise kept us awake most of the night, surely only a one-time event. We liked the place very much and recommend it for family stays. The kitchen is spacious and allows for family cooking.

Lots of room the spread out in a great location
We were two couples but could have been more. The apartment is spacious and in an L shape that creates even more privacy. The beds were nice and everything worked very well. Maria was totally attentive and helpful, ncluding helping us figure out transportation options. It has ample outdoor space and an actual dining room—-both quite unusual for a Venice rental, and a fabulous tub in one of the bathrooms that we used every day (also a shower in another bathroom). This large apartment feels just like home, which it once was for the owner’s grandfather. A short walk to the Rialto and San Marco, so very nicely located—-everything you need is nearby, including the Vaporetto stops.. We went for the Biennale, there’s still time :)

Beautiful apartment
The apartment is perfect and just as described. We had lovely breakfasts on the patio and evening drinks.
The location was also within a short walk of everything you could need but not on top of the busy central areas.

perfect weekend stay with the family
Huge apartment, great terrace and fully equipped kitchen (incl some basic groceries like olive oil and cafe). 3 Bathrooms, only one shower. quiet at night. Perfect for 5-8 Pax.
It is spacious and clean. Exactly like the description and pictures.
Excellent location. Close to the centre. just 10 minutes to walk to the rialto bridge. 15 min to walk to piazza san Marco.
Francesco was very friendly and helpful with recommendations. Easy check in and out.
After check out, we could leave our luggage for the day in an extra room down stairs.

Successful venice stay
Francesco met us at the boat and took us to our apartment. Huge apartment, great terrace and kitchen. Really good location. Recieved super detailed information on apartment and location. There are 3 bathrooms, but only one shower.

Exactly like the pictures
You should know that any place you stay in Venice will require a walk with all your bags, and most likely a flight or a few flights of stairs. This apartment was exactly like the pictures. Very quaint, and roomy, and including everything you need. It was extremely clean, and the owners were extremely helpful with recommendations, and accommodating our schedules. We would definitely visit again!

Great Place-Great Renters-Great Location
The place was beautiful and lots of room to relax and is centrally located so we could walk every where in Venice or take a Gondola if we chose. The renters where very helpful they told us about great restaurants to go to, they are very honest because we left something very valuable at the apartment and they got it back to us right away. We had a wonderful time here and want to thank the renters again for a great time.

Great place to stay while visiting Venice
My friends and I liked everything about this apartment:
Away from the hustle and bustle of St Mark's Square, but an easy walk to any place in Venice. Delightful neighborhood with great shopping and restaurants nearby.
We were a group of 4 to 8 depending on travel movements, but the apartment could easily accommodate us all without feeling cramped. The apartment was clean and exactly as pictured in the photos. The wifi worked fine for us.
The owner met us downstairs near the restaurant when we came in from the train station. He gave us a great orientation to the apartment, the neighborhood.
Many thanks for making our stay in Venice so memorable.

Fabulous place - fabulous renters
We had a magical time in Venice and our accommodations were a big part of that. We have a big family with five teenagers. They all want their private space and this apartment delivered. It was well appointed, spotless upon arrival, and centrally located. Don't be fooled by the rustic exterior. Instead, relish its authenticity while you enjoy all the comforts of the modern interior.
Air conditioning units are present in the bedrooms. While the manager warns of their overuse (you pay), we easily kept things comfortable at little expense. They provide plenty of bedding and towels. There is a washer to keep up with the damp clothes after a day of sightseeing in the muggy weather. While there is no dryer, the patios serve nicely as a drying area.
But here's the thing: Francesco and Maria themselves were absolutely stellar as property managers. They were professional, kind, flexible, and informative. We were terribly late for our appointed check-in time and Francesco took it in stride. He spent as much time as we needed going over the apartment's amenities and tourism recommendations. They are locals and gave us the inside track.
The tiniest of gripes: the garbage pickup schedule is inconvenient. You are expected to check-out having emptied all the trash bins in the apartment. It is essentially impossible to do this because recycling is not picked up every day. You are almost guaranteed to walk away holding a trash bag with no recourse but to risk a ticket depositing it in a public receptacle. If you leave it outside the apartment you may forfeit some of your security deposit. Listen carefully to their instructions to minimize this inconvenience.
While not the cheapest apartment, it was a fantastic value. Splurge a bit and you will be glad you did.

This place was amazing! It's indeed a well kept mansion in a central location. Walking distance to everywhere. We had party of 8 and we all were super impressed as soon as we walked inside this place - it's indeed a mansion from 13th century with everything newly renovated!!! We will come back again next time when we stay in Venice for sure and we will keep recommending this place to our friends. The host was very polite, friendly, welcoming, and helpful too. Everything was definitely a 5 star rating from our experience staying at this place just 3 days ago. Truly impressed!
4.0 / 5.0
This apartment is in a FANTASTIC neighborhood for feeling part of Venice without being in the crowds and craziness around St. Mark's. Less crowded, less expensive, but an easy walk to all of that when you want to see those sights.
The apartment is very beautiful, newly remodled, and functions very well for travellers. The apartment is spotless! So clean and has a few of the basics you need (olive oil, some spices, dishwashing soap). A close supermarket (the Coop) provides all you need and the local markets are fantastic. Has glasses, plates, cups, coffee maker, toaster, hair dryer, washing machine, dishwasher, everything you need.
When we arrived and called our contact (from the vaparetto at the airport) he told us he coulld not meet for 2 hours. It was a hot travel day so this was disappointing BUT when we arrived at FTE Nove an hour later, we sat at the very first restaurant we saw (Tortuga) only steps from the disembarcation point and had AMAZING bruschetta and wine and our host was there within 30 minutes.
A short walk to the apartment from FTE Nova and our host pointed out good restaurants, gelato, etc. Take the suggestions in the folder! Great places, close, and excellent food.
Don't be upset when you enter the building on the ground floor. Like everywhere in Venice, the ground floor common area is hard to maintain because of the canals. So there is some peeling and cracking but this is everywhere in Venice but the 2d floor apartment is clean and spotless.
We were there during a July heatwave - even hotter than normal So, you pay for the airconditioning but can keep the apartment cool by strategically closing the shutters during the hot parts of the day. That said, some electric fans would REALLY help in the common rooms. At first we tried to just keep the bedrooms cool at night and decent during the day but we were there in a heat wave and we nded up opening the bedroom doors and running the a/c most of the time because it was so hot (again, it was a heat wave). Even so, the bill for airconditioning was under E$150 for 4 days.
A leak in the shower was dripping in the downstairs apartment. They were considerate and apologetic about needing to come in and apply some caulk to one of the showers. It was an emergency and they had to deal with it but kept the inconvenience to us as minimal as possible. A discount or not charging for a/c would have been nice but overall we were very happy with this choice.

Great Apartment, Wonderful Location
This apartment was very large, very clean, and very comfortable. There was more than enough room for the five of us. The only downside was that we were so busy sightseeing that we didn't have time to enjoy the wonderful terrace. Francesco met us at the waterbus stop and helped us get acclimated. We especially appreciated his restaurant and gelato recommendations. Maria Chiara, who we met on our last day, was also very friendly and helpful. This was a great place and I would definitely rent it again, but next time, I won't pack so much. The apartment is on the third floor and there is no elevator. Truly a wonderful experience for our first visit to Venice.

The apartment is extremely clean and roomy. The beds, pillows and linens are very comfortable. The location was close to everything in Venice. Above all, Francesco answered all the questions we had before arriving and upon arrival. At the end of our trip, Francesco walked with us to the Vaporetto stop to make sure we would be on time for our train. I would highly recommend this apartment for your stay in Venice. Dani

One of the best vacation accomodation we ever had! We were two families with 3 children. The apartmant was big enough and equipped to accomodate even more quests. In the heart of Venice, walking distance to all the major sites.
Outstanding clean and with all the comforts, but most important great internal design and furniture that transfered us in another time zone.
Francesco was very helpfull and made every effort to provide us a confortable stay.
His recommentations for restaurants and bars were simlpy unique.
Certainly we will come back!

Beautiful apartment, wonderful host, perfect!
This is an amazing find in Venice. The apartment is absolutely huge, we were a a party of 7 and had more than enough room. Every room was clean and airy, the outside space was lovely for relaxing with a glass of wine. We didn't really use the kitchen, but it was just as nice as it looks in the pictures. Next time we will allow at least a few more days to explore and cook up some wonderful things from the market!
The location was perfect for navigating the city, Maria was wonderful and thorough and always available. I can't say enough about our experience here.
5.0 / 5.0
As a group of seven from Canada we found the perfect match for our needs! We could only confirm the glowing reviews by previous occupants, all little flaws previously reported having been taken care of. The apartment is very spacious, very clean and exactly as described in its website and well suited to host two energetic adolescents. Maria Chiara welcomed us at the Ca' d'Oro and guided us to the apartment, only a short distance away and very conveniently located, close to a couple of supermarkets, restaurants, coffee shops, a hardware store, a news stand and more! For those coming from or going to the Venice airport, the dock of the Alilaguna boat service is only minutes away.
Of possible interest to other winter visitors: apparently, episodes of intense air pollution in major Italian centres have led to by-laws requiring inhabitants to use thermostat settings not exceeding 21 degrees Celsius, an indoor temperature the older ones among us found slightly uncomfortable.
We will definitely recommend this place to others. To Maria Chiara and Francesco, a heartfelt THANK YOU !!

Exceptional apartment in a fantastic location!
This apartment is really a special place. As other reviewers have already stated, the apartment is very spacious, well laid out, and well cared for. There were five of us travelling together and we couldn't have been happier with this choice. The apartment was spotlessly clean. The beds are very comfortable. The TV and WiFi worked perfectly. The kitchen has everything one would need to make meals, although we chose to eat in the great restaurants located just a few steps away. (Note - the kitchen has a drip coffee maker, but it is impossible to buy filters so you might take a size 4 or 6 cone filter.) It has two outside deck areas (although one is without furniture) where we enjoyed our breakfast in the morning and our happy hour in the late afternoon. It is a very quiet apartment, yet located just steps from the busy main walking route (from train station) to Piazza San Marco. The main supermarket is a 5-10 minute walk from the apartment. Maria Chiara and Francesco (brother and sister team) answered our emails promptly and are very professional in their management of this apartment. Maria Chiara met us at the vaporetto station as planned and oriented us to the neighbourhood as we walked to the apartment. Maria Chiara also spent quite a bit of time with us giving us lots of practical information about restaurants, transportation to airport, etc. In addition to restaurants recommended by Maria Chiara (in the welcome binder), we had a nice meal at Trattoria Tre Spiedi, which is located just around the corner from the apartment. Our only suggestions for the apartment would be some side tables or a coffee table in the living room and perhaps a bistro table and a couple of chairs for the deck that is currently without furniture. These are small things and did not detract from our real enjoyment of this wonderful apartment. We would absolutely recommend this apartment to anyone and hope to return!

Lovely spacious apartment
My friends and I liked everything about this apartment:
1) Location: away from the chaos that is St Mark's Square, but an easy walk or vaporetto ride to any place in Venice. Delightful neighborhood with great shopping and restaurants nearby.
2) Apartment: we were a group of four, but the apartment could easily accommodate six or more without feeling cramped. The apartment was clean and exactly as pictured in the photos. The wifi worked fine for us.
3) Owners: Maria met us at the water bus stop in Rialto when we came in from the airport. She gave us a great orientation to the apartment, the neighborhood, and Italian customs in general. She also recommended a wonderful restaurant nearby. Maria could not have been nicer!
Many thanks to Maria and Francesco for making our stay in Venice so memorable.
PS One word of advice to Americans who are inclined to over pack -- DON'T! You will be transporting your suitcase over cobblestone streets and will have to carry it up two stories to the apartment. You'll be happier if you pack lightly!

Great Apartment!!! HUGE!!!!!
Nice HUGE!!!!! apartment in good location. It is a new apartment listing and they are still getting the apartment situated for travelers renting it. There was no Wi-Fi yet or TV (Wi-Fi was a little problem but not huge... and I personally could care less about a TV.. I mean really... your in Venice!! the last thing you need to be doing is watching TV!!!!) If those things are important to you as a traveler I would ask Maria to see if they have added those amenities yet. It was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was awesome (brand new). If you are a large family traveling this apartment would definitely fit your needs. Maria was wonderful to work with. Please note that there is no lift and the apartment is on the third floor. It says the second floor in the description but as opposed to the US.... in Italy that is really the third floor. there are two terraces and only one had furniture on it (a single bench) when I stayed there. So if you are really counting on a terrace to lounge around on you may want to confirm with Maria if they have added patio furniture to the larger terrace yet (I know they were planning to). I would definitely stay here again.
