We have not eaten at the restaurant there to give it a complete review

The location of the hotel is exceptional, gorgeous and on the lake! Checking into the hotel was made into a lovely experience by Mary who thrusts her personality into her work. The room itself was perfect for mine and my partners stay for a truly romantic night for my birthday! I'll definitely be back for future celebrations!
There were quite a few mosquitos! A lot more than normal, but the bugs are a part of life on the lake. The beds were a bit hard to sleep on, perhaps those a due for an update... Most of these things are minor in comparison to the wider experience

The lady at the front desk was beyond welcoming! She went out of her way to welcome us and show us where things were! Her name was Mary😊 we had a very pleasant stay Thanks!
The weather! 😑

Loved the location and loved hearing that new updates are coming soon! The rooms are super clean and the staff was great during check in and showed me to my room personally so I didn’t get lost at first. Will be excited to come back and see the new changes
Some of the dated ness off the furniture but it was excellent clean so please don’t take this as a negative comment

I like that the boardwalk was reasonable, and our room overlooked it with live music and the lake.
I told them we were bringing a boat. I didn’t like the fact that they were no boat slips available so we had to pull our boat out every time we were done using it and launch farther down the lake with a cost and inconvenient parking. They rent slips to the people on the lake, but they don’t save any spots in case a guest brings a boat.

loved the room, the water view and the fireplace. everything was very clean and the room/bathroom were nice sized. the woman at the front desk was very nice.
I was told that breakfast was at 6:30, it would have been nice if the hot items came out by 6:30 and not 20 min. late. Travelers often are on a schedule, it appears that the breakfast staff are not. Breakfast when it arrived was good.

We went into Chicago for a concert and did not want to stay in the city. Found this place on our way, and it was fantastic! It is about an hours drive into Chicago from this hotel. It is very easy to get on and off the highway. The location was absolutely perfect. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious with a balcony overlooking Pine Lake. The restaurant was perfect. We will definitely stay there again when going to Chicago for an event. I'm looking forward to staying there in the summer.
No elevator to the 2nd floor, but the stairs weren't too bad.

The breakfast was good and it had a good variety. Only thing I would add would be sugar free syrup. The location was perfect. We wanted to be close to the casino and we definitely were. Having the restaurant onsite was a huge plus!
Sugar free syrup would have been perfect and hot water in the room. There wasn’t anything else that we were unhappy with at all. Hopefully we can experience this place again in the summertime. The brochure shows a lot of different entertainment and I would love to see that.

It was a good breakfast, Coffee ran out fast. LOL
The only thing I noticed was that the shower head in my shower was black mold on it. (it might not been mold, but it was black) It needed to be cleaned. I tried cleaning it. But everything else was clean looking.. I didn't think about asking for a blanket, so It was cool in bed, a while to warm up to sleep..LOL

My wife is a very cold natured person and we actually got there before they were lighting the heaters in the room well the fireplace and the receptionist had someone go out of their way to come up there and turn it on for her

Breakfast was good. Used it only once though!
Room needs to be upgraded and repaired. Nicer TV's with better sound quality, more comfortable pillows instead of pancakes for pillows. Shower stall had mold around it and it leaked onto the bathroom floor.

The view of the lake. The king sized bed and spa tub for 2. The free breakfast. The staff and that changing my reservations was not a problem and no added fee.
The decor is outdated. The style could benefit if changed to include more nautical (which is timeless) and less 80's, which ages the facility.

Just loved the atmosphere. We also ate at the outside bar and restaurant and it was delicious and convenient.

Night staff was accommodating and polite.
Showerhead and floor of shower (corners) had mold. Moldy pod left in coffee maker. Mattress cover had marks on it. Noisy location next to busy road.

Love the view.
La porte just don't have much of anything in the area to do or many places to eat at , the hotel really really needs updated or remodeling done. Breakfast was not good at all..
