Unique place for us to stay which gave us fantastic experience to hide within the nature and let us to relax after some time spent in Honolulu. Enclave. No close neighbors. Only sleeping room with walls, other parts of facility (kitchen, toilet, shower) opened to the nature. Early morning and evening birds and night singing of the frogs could be too noisy for some people but this is the “price” of being so close to the nature. A place which we definitely consider to return in the future!
Unsolved problems with Wi-Fi. Despite open space and lack of close neighbors I couldn’t relax more with smoking a pipe in armchair. But I respect that.

Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, rooms were very comfortable and cozy with a great ocean view.
Didn't bother me much, but for those who aren't very comfortable around animals, maybe not the best fit for you.

the cabins are located in a mini jungle with beautiful trees and plants, that was for me the highlight! very peaceful out there and with a car not too far from anything really…
there’s a terrace outside the room where your private kitchen is and you have everything you need including fresh coffee, fresh eggs, filtered water and all cooking appliances you need. you have beach towels, beach chairs, sun umbrella at your disposal!
there’s a large car park, they encourage composting and recycling!
everything was really clean
lack of contact with owner, only by message. when I travel to such places I like to hear people story! the place encourages self checkin so you do miss on that human exchange. that’s very personal though

nice secluded area, loved the wildlife especially the chickens!!! the out house was dark more nicer then expected.
would be nice having a small light trail to guide us at night to the cabin

so peaceful!
hard to find initially. there are 2 locations on Google maps and it is unclear where to go.

fresh climate and surrounded by nature
extremely humid, clothes smelled bad for the rest of the holiday, no facilities to unpack, suitcases on the floor. Due to extreme loud frog sounds at night and just mosquito nets as windows, we had 3 terrible nights with lack of sleep, even earplugs did not help. we left the place even with still 2 nights to go which were mot refundable. Disappointing experience for the price that we paid: 850$. if you need to use the toilet at night you need to go in the garden with a flashlight, my girlfriend was too scared to go alone

remote & old Hawaii style accommodation
not so easy to find, small map would be helpful

We had a nice cabin in a wonderful lush green environment, away from the touristic jumble, but still close to all attractions. We found this a charming alternative to the soulless hotel complexes at the coast. You shouldn't go there with a full-service mentality, but if you are open-minded and willing to adapt, it's a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. You could tell that they were understaffed in the aftermath of the pandemic. So we wish Gingerhill all the best for the future and hope that they will be back to full operation soon again.

We loved EVERYTHING! Gorgeous peaceful property tucked away from the crowds yet convenient for island explorations. Our family stayed in the Sunset Suite and the glamping tent - SO. MUCH. FUN. and so comfortable! The privacy, the symphony of nature, amazing views, abundant fresh fruit and farm to table meals, combined with the overall positive, healthy vibe was so relaxing and made us want to move in permanently! Such a wonderful opportunity to experience the real Hawaiian life, we appreciated escaping the typical generic hotel experience and cherish our memories-what an amazing lifestyle! Thank you for opening your farm to us!

nothing. I would live there for months if I could.

Sustainability, garden and location. Great sheets, great bed.
Not enough information from hosts.

After one night we decided to leave and thankfully this was not a problem for them. We simply were charged the rate for one night plus all the extra cleaning fees instead of paying for 7. The one night cost us about 200 $, though, which was way too much.
A short encounter with the resident artist and the view if the garden were quite delightful.
There was no way to air the bathroom and therefore mildew had developed in certain corners close to the shower. The room smelled damp and there was practically no space for our luggage. We did not feel welcome at all. Their homepage suggested the use of far more space like living room or kitchen, which was not included, at least not without extra costs.

Morning sunrise view of ocean, outdoor shower, privacy, birds, organic orchard and farm, centrally located. We got to meet Mayumi Oda and look at her studio and art.
