If heading to Adelaide, will it be dinosaur bones and Coonawarra wine, or the Big Lobster and the Coorong National Park. Or on your way to Victoria? Will it be Nelson National Park, as it is just along the road from Port MacDonnell, the Glenelg River and the Princess Margaret Rose caves, Portland and the “Great Ocean Road” starts 200km away, in Warrnambool. Or will you head towards Hamilton and the Western Border region of Victoria which offers the Grampians and is stepped in history.

Property clean and tidy. No frills (no hand soap, tissues, or toilet paper cling wrap etc). Vertical blinds on the main door had panels missing. Half a roll of 1 ply toilet paper supplied no replacement rolls to be found anywhere. Hence having to use paper towel and place in the rubbish bin. Tap water tasted odd, so a suggestion to bring your own drinking water on the website would be appreciated.

Checked in at checkin time of 1pm, house didn't look like been cleaned, beds stripped not made-up. Contacted agent, they had to find out, called us back theyd arrive about 2 30 need an hour to clean. A cleaner turned up at 1.30, said we should have been out at 10am, we said we booked for 2 nights just arrived, she stated was told it was another house she had to clean and wasnt told this this waa for a quick in and out. We left our stuff there and left for a few hours so she could clean. Cleaner was lovely and all our stuff untouched when we came back. A few maintenance issues, eg rail up stairs, glass door handle lock both wobbly, lots of spider webs outside at back and a million mozzies inside when we got there, you could see where everyone has killed them.Good location, nice little place, had what we needed plus had books, dvds, games etc.
The day we checked out, that night received emsil stating our rent was in arrears but we had already pre paid. Emailed proof back but received no reply, no apolgy. Wouldn't choose to stay using a real estate agency again, totally disorganised. Price was good though.
I hope this review helps to improve services and maintenance because it is a lovely place within walking distance to playgrounds, beach, boat ramp with ample parking.

The accomodation at Port Macdonnell is a comfortable and very clean place. It’s an affordable price for the location. 2 blocks from the beach, short walking distance to cafes. Worth driving to Finger Point lookout (gorgeous beach) & fishing at Donovan’s landing. Had a great stay.

The Bach was situated in a great location - just a couple of street back from the foreshore and a few blocks from the Pub and local Grocer.
The home itself was roomy and had a good sized kitchen.
When booking, remember that no pantry or toiletries are supplied. We knew this but didn’t think to pack even the most basic items like oil, salt, pepper, foil, cling wrap, washing powder etc. we left a few things behind so I hope the next guests get to enjoy them rather than having to pay excessive prices at the local grocer.

Everything was easy with the property. Bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of extra blankets provided. Inside was clean and comfy. Heater struggled to begin with but once warmed up it was lovely. Outside though felt a little untended but only due to tree litter. Overall I think it’s a great little house, admittedly it could use a little TLC but nothing that makes it uncomfortable. You get what you pay for.

Great for a catch up. Shower over bath was restrictive for us older people. Could be updated. Couches were also a little difficult for oldies to get up and down out of. But really overall very enjoyable

We appreciated the quiet location and beautiful surroundings.

The only soap in the property was in the shower and had someone's short and curlys on it. There was no toilet paper. No tea bags or coffee either. Apart from that the house is clean and tidy.

Great dog friendly spot.
This was our second stay at The Bach. Such a great place; warm and cozy, secure garden for our dog, lovely quiet street, close to local stores and beautiful scenic drives. Will definitely be back.

Basic but clean
The place was nice and clean which is always my main concern and location was great. Heater worked super well!
Couple of issues, there was only one spare roll of toilet paper provided and we had to end up using tissues. For three people over two nights, that wasn’t enough and there wasn’t any soap at all. There was the tiniest amount of hand soap left and no refill at all. Maybe some prepackaged soaps that you could use in the bathroom could be good.
Also no tea or coffee at all. Even instant would have been a nice touch. Otherwise, pleasant.

Great location
While the stay was good, I was unpleasantly surprised to receive a request from a real estate company per email and sms to pay a fee , which was completely outside the deal with stayz. I even got a payment reminder on a public holiday. Real estate agents seem to be busy people.

Honeymoon @ The Bach
The Bach was close to the beach, walking distance to just about everything; main shopping; tourist info, library, eateries. Plenty of room to relax, do a bit of washing and cooking a meal. I still don't understand all the cushions but we put them away in the spare room

Fishing escape
The property was perfect for our stay with good walking access to the cafes. We chose this place because we could park our car/boat and trailer off the street behind a gate. Unfortunately during the evening our boat was broken into and all our fishing gear was stolen. Maybe some sensor lights on the outside of the house would help to deter these crooks on future occasions. Not a very good impression of an otherwise nice little town.

Perfect spot to stay with spot! :)
Great dog-friendly accommodation right in the heart of Port Mac; close to all of the shops, cafes, boat ramp. Short drive to see the beautiful coast. The house is perfect for those travelling with a dog; it has a lovely homely feel to it, plenty of space for cars/boats, good BBQ area out the back. Would definitely stay here again.
