About this villa rental
Florence city centre is at just 10 minutes by public bus!
You will not need a car to enjoy the city and Villa Acacia.
If you have ever been to Florence you know this is a town where “suburbs” takes on a very special meaning. Just outside the very hectic "circonvallazioni", the main arteries that lead into and out of the city center, are a host of picturesque residential areas where the aristocratic and wealthy built their spacious villas in the shade of huge umbrella pines.
Cypress trees line the narrow roads that wind upwards past olive groves and tiny vineyards, so that almost at once you forget about the noisy city you just left behind. But it’s there, visible from every curve and terrace, dominated by Brunelleschi’s inexplicable cupola and the forboding tower of Palazzo Vecchio.
What a perfect combination, to have the sights of the Renaissance city but not the smells, sounds and mayhem of 21st century Firenze!
The house is very spacious with plenty of room for a group of ten people: you can party together and enjoy your own time of privacy. The terrace on the roof, the one off the master bedroom and the side of the garden with the swimming pool have wonderful views of the city in the distance. You can see the Duomo towards South and enjoy the pleasant sights of the countryside hills in the other directions. Not to talk about sunsets…
This 17th century villa occupies a hillside on the old road to Bologna, just fifteen minutes north of the city center. It has its own 4500 square foot garden, with a swimming pool that occupies one of the natural terraces where lemon trees used to be cultivated in a great earthenware vases. Facing this side of the property is the glass-enclosed room where those trees were protected in winter; now it holds a table where six people can dine with a view of the Duomo.
At the other end of the garden is a cottage with a washing machine, dryer, iron and board, and a small WC. Also occupying the ground floor of the villa are a comfortable sitting room with couches, chairs and satellite TV, a dining room whose table can open up to accommodate sixteen people, a living room with a fireplace, armchairs and telephone. These rooms have stunning casement ceilings. Next to the dining room is a kitchen, furnished with a full fridge and freezer, oven, range top, microwave, Nespresso machine, American coffeemaker, and dishwasher. It has a table for two, and opens onto a covered pergola with dining for the entire group.
Upstairs, the spacious master bedroom has a double bed, a roomy wardrobe and a door onto a private terrace overlooking the city. Next door is a bathroom with shower and tub. Across the hall from the bathroom, a door opens onto a tiny back street, perfect for unloading bags and parking if you have more than one car.
The next two bedrooms share a balcony: one has two twin beds, the second has a full sized bed and a single bed. Then there is a suite with its own entrance, featuring a double bedroom, small kitchen and bathroom with shower.
Another flight of stairs leads up to the last bedroom, which has a double bed and a bathroom with a stall shower.
But the villa has more to offer! On the roof, reached by a comfortable flight of stairs, is a large terrace with deck chairs and one of the best views to be found for miles.
All the windows in the house have screens, the property is gated and surrounded by a wall, and in the garden is a built-in brick barbeque.
Just down the street are some small shops and only 300 yards from the door is the stop for the city bus that goes straight down to the center of town (Piazza San Marco, the bus runs about every 10 minutes and the trip Villa-San Marco takes 10-15 minutes).

We loved our time here!! As a large family group, we still had room to spread out comfortably and enjoy our closeness. As an elegant space, it still felt very homey. Lorenzo, Mario, and Andrea all helped us enormously, especially when we hit some snags in our plans. They were unfailingly polite and went out of their way to take care of things. The setting and grounds were gorgeous, even better than expected. It’s very out-of-the-way, which is one reason I chose it, so extremely quiet - more than one person described it as “idyllic”!

This property was reserved for a vacation for a family of eight. It was the first trip taken since my father, the patriarch of the family, had passed away. Our youngest son is stationed in Italy and we looked upon this adventure as a trip of a lifetime, being the first venture overseas for many of our group. Being all together on one property was important to us and I must say that this property exceeded our expectations.
The property owner, Lorenzo, and property manager, Mario, were wonderful. I didn’t feel rushed through the arrival process, which ensured we were comfortable and not left to figure things out with no guidance.
The villa itself was amazing and we were grateful for the history provided for the property. The grounds afforded privacy. Rooms were spacious. Bathrooms were plentiful. The kitchen is small, but I didn’t go to Florence to cook. The views were breathtaking. It was a short walk to a bus to many amusements - or whatever we wanted to do!
I highly recommend the bespoke dinner prepared by Lorenzo’s chef - in our case, his wife. If offered, I recommend the carrot side dish. We also reserved tours led by a private guide reserved through Andrea Bassetti, a personal concierge. Our guide was Marco, who had extensive knowledge of art and steered us through the days.
Our time in Florence was enhanced, not only by the amazing villa in which we stayed, but also by the attention we received from Lorenzo and team.

This was a wonderful home. Spacious and elegant, full of Italian charm. Mario the manager was so charming and helpful. You were a short taxi ride to the center of Florence. It was a great place for our large family to visit around Tuscany yet come back to cook and hangout. Superior!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Villa Acacia. Lorenzo was the perfect host; professional, quickly responded to our questions, and very friendly. We highly recommend a custom bespoke Italian dinner at the Villa as well as a welcome dinner. Many thanks to the properties Caretaker, Mario. He took us to the supermarket, not once but twice, and shopped the isles with us. He has a very good command of the English language.
And many thanks to the concierge, Andrea. He arranged for our transport to and from Rome and Florence. He also arranged for our day trip to Siena and Chianti, where we had a tour of a winery with a lovely lunch/wine-tasting on the terrace overlooking a majestic view. The villa is rich with old world charm. It is situated on the hills, overlooking Florence city center. The Villa is very well-maintained both inside and outside. The nearby bus was not running while we were there, but we had no problems getting a taxi within 10 minutes. Five ⭐️

This was just an awesome Holiday Home and everything was perfect! Mario the caretaker was there to great us to go over everything and even drove us to the local grocery store so we could get items in the house, as we did breakfast daily there, and even cooked one night.
The first night we worked with Lorenzo the owner who as we were hoping to arrange to have a cook, as our group of 8 were arriving at different times, and thought it would be easier to do dinner at the villa. The food was absolutely amazing, one of the best meals we had. It included zucchini pie, lasagna, chocolate cake, fresh apricots water and wine!
There is also a concierge available, named Andrea - the most awesome individual to work with. He arranged all our transfers from the Florence airport and train station for both departure and return. We also used him to arrange some trips for us. They included lunch/wine tasting in the Tuscany region, a boat excursion to Cinque Terre, visits to Lucca, Pisa, Siena and San Gimignano. I highly recommend you take advantage of his services and also for the tours ask if he can get Francesca as your drive, she is an absolute delight.
We did not have a car and easy to get a taxi or Uber to take us into Florence for dinner and shopping, which is not more than 10 - 15 minutes to city center.
The villa is just great, as all the bedrooms are air conditioned, and more than enough bathrooms and bedrooms for our two families. Also the views from the villa were spectacular.

My family and I had the pleasure of staying here for a week and we had the most marvelous time. Lorenzo was very easy to work with and was very communicative. As he promised, Mario greeted us upon arrival at the villa and gave us a very thorough tour and even sold us bus tickets to help get us started!! I requested that a few items be in the villa and Mario purchased exactly what we needed and wanted. The villa is spacious and very comfortable. The pool is very near the villa and was exactly what the four of us needed after fun filled days of walking around and exploring. In addition to the amazing accommodations and spectacular service, Andrea, the concierge, made our trip one to remember. He made all of our dinner reservations, organized for us to be picked from the train station (we started in Rome), arranged for day trips to Lucca, Pisa and Siena (all of which I highly recommend), reserved a time for me and my daughter to have a cooking class with Sandra and helped us get to our next location. This was my first time in Florence so I had A LOT of questions and he responded quickly and kindly to all of my emails. The team of Lorenzo, Mario and Andrea can not be beat!! If you are in Florence staying here and meeting these incredible people is a must!

Good location, short bus ride to city center. Host incredibly responsive and set us up with a house caretaker, a concierge for tours, drivers, etc. A full service experience. House is beautiful with a great view of the city from poolside.

Fantastic!!!! From the 1st day we contacted Lorenzo to the last night of our stay everything was perfect!!!. The house and its location were great, with amazing views of Florence. Andrea the concierge was such a huge help arraigning day trips for us and transportation. Everything went smooth and easy. Mario, that greeted us at the house couldn't have been nicer, he even drove us to the supermarket and helped us find all the supplies we needed for the house. Lorenzo had suggested having a Chef cook us a meal at the house. We chose our last night for this meal, little did we know that Lorenzo himself would be helping the Chef and serving us our dinner. The food was AMAZING and the service was impeccable!! Recommend this Villa highly and would return!!!

We cannot say enough about how wonderful this place is! The beauty will take your breath away!!!! It’s very convenient to get to town. You truly don’t need a car. Even if you have a car you won’t use while you’re there. Lorenzo was a wonderful property owner who helped arranged everything little detail and convenience for us. His property caretaker Mario was one of the sweetest human beings we have met and we enjoyed his help tremendously! This place was worth every single penny!

Felt like home - you will love it
First of all, Lorenzo is a great host. He is willing to help make your stay just perfect. The home is better than pictured because you get a better sense of the flow by just being there, you get a better sense of its history by seeing it live, and to my delight the pool is incredibly clean and comfortable. True to its description, the bus ride is easy and convenient, although buses aren't always quite on schedule, so some flexibility is needed on your part. But the bus stop is just a few steps away and you can get your bus tickets just down the street. Everything is in walking distance to get you into town. Uber comes to the house. The taxis have a wonderful App that helps with the language barriers. The views are lovely, the landscape is rich and lush; I just can't say enough nice things about the property, Lorenzo, Mario and the team. There was nothing we were lacking....We were 3 couples in our 50s and 60s, with 2 adult children (in late 20s). All 8 of us slept well in the beds, and were very comfortable with the amenities. AC works very well, there are fans in the rooms that also keep you cool. I do hope to come back one day, as Lorenzo and. Mario made us feel like family.

Perfect Villa in Florence
We really had a magical experience here. The villa is gorgeous and has incredible views of Florence, which is a mere 10 minutes away by bus. It’s charming and spacious and outfitted well for guests.
We watched fireworks light up the entire city on New Years from the rooftop deck. Lorenzo found a chef who cooked us a meal of a lifetime at the Villa - we are a group of foodies and we were blown away by a delicious 6 course meal - one of the best we had in all of Italy.
You will not find a nicer host than Lorenzo - we had members of our party get a bad winter cough a few days before we arrived in Florence, and he helped us find a doctor, he gave us restaurant recommendations (from higher end to more authentic neighborhood joints - Zocchi was a favorite), and even helped us figure out the bus schedule on a holiday. If anything, we were a bit “high maintenance” and he could not have been more gracious.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Paradise Found
From the time we booked Lorenzo's villa he has been a great host. Always available to help with questions and make recommendations of our tours, etc. The villa is the quintessential nod to Italy. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Mario. He is amazing and helped us with every detail of transportation, grocery shopping and villa tour. He made our stay so pleasant and kind. I personally wanted to bring him home with me. I would recommend you make the villa your home base and train to other points of interest so you don't have to drag luggage around Italy. Arranged by Lorenzo, our final evening was planned with a bespoke dinner by Chef Alida, her husband Andrea and staff. The dinner was elegant and Italian cuisine was delicious. We cannot say enough about how incredible our stay was at the villa and we will certainly plan another stay when we visit Italy. Lorenzo and Mario, thank you for making our stay so special. Until we see each other again......Ciao!

Magnificent !
Eight ladies of a certain age descended on Villa Acacia, we were welcomed with open arms. Shabby chic villa, just how we expected and wanted it to be, very spacious - everybody could find a corner to call their own and step away from the bustle that is 8 ladies!
Despite losing bags, Ipads and breaking bones we all had the most wonderful time, making full use of the spacious villa and pool with a view. A very big thanks to Lorenzo and Andrea for guiding us through the lost bags and broken bones scenarios. Also a big thank you to Pina who stepped in and took us to the supermarket to do a 'big shop'!
The meal in the villa provided by Andrea and family was truly magnificent, beautiful food, wonderful surroundings and efficiently managed.
We were also warmly welcomed by the owners of the local alimentari in Il Cionfo where we did our day to day shopping.
Very easy to get to Florence from Pisa airport and in and out of Florence on the local buses, taxis not extortionate either.
The word has been passed around how wonderful the villa and Firenze Dreaming team is - highly recommended.

Loved the property and the location was superb. The only downside was the mosquitoes, which obviously could not be helped. Mario and Andreas were very helpful, especially Mario for escorting us to the local supermarket.

Great views, great service, amazing experience
We were 4 families, total of 12 spending Thanksgiving in Florence. The entire experience from start to finish was outstanding. Lorenzo was very quick to answer questions throughout the entire booking process. His concierge contact, Andrea, was very helpful is booking a private group trip to Siena and a wine tasting in Chianti. The views from the villa are exquisite, the rooms are all a good size and our group fit perfectly. The walk to the bus stop was very quick making it very easy to get into Florence without the worry of a car. Lorenzo also arranged a 4-course Italian dinner for all of us which was an incredible experience. We loved this villa and hope to be back soon!!

Perfecto!
We had a large group of friends and family join us in Florence for a week in celebration of a 60th birthday. The villa was perfect as it provided the perfect location, stunning views of Florence, bedrooms and bathrooms for all as well as a much appreciated pool as a reprieve from the heat!
The location in the beautiful and quiet La Lastra neighborhood also allowed us to escape the intense number of tourists in the city centre!
We followed Lorenzo's advise and returned our rental car as the bus into and out of the centre of Florence was both convenient and inexpensive.
The outdoor wood burning/charcoal BBQ was a special treat as we were able to grill our own Florentine steak, eggplants , zucchini and onions.
The service and attention provided by Mario was also very much appreciated. He made himself available at all hours!
It was our first visit to Florence and it is a magical city. Lorenzo's villa allowed us to be more then visitors. We will return!

Florence Villa
Good location if planning on frequent visits into Florence. The # 25 bus runs every 20min with pick up about 5 min walk from villa and drop off at San Marco whcih is easy walk to all sites.
Car parking is on street but was always available. The villa itself is old but charming. Furniture could use some updating but beds comfortable and bedroom AC worked well. Had an electrical glitch day one but Mario and Lorenzo were attentive and quick to respond and resolve issue. House itself does not lock up well but surrounded by high stone wall and electronic iron gate, overall felt safe. Mario serves as concierge, always answered cell phone and spoke good english.
Driving to and from the villa for day trips to the west and south was a bit challenging and forces you through a busy area of the north side of Florence. Would suggest that if your trip itinerary was primarily to see the hill towns/chianti region would choose villa south of Florence. However, if focusing on Florence itself it is an ideal location. Tabacchi and alimentaria about 10 min walk with all the basics but not much else within walking distance. Fiesoli has a lot to offer as far as restaurants and trattorias but does require 10-15 min easy drive.
Good washer and dryer. Plenty of bathrooms. Showers are about as good as you get in Italy. Total of 9 of us/ 2 families and plenty of room to spread out and relax for both kids and adults. Outside pool/seating/terraces were comfortable with great views.

What an extraordinary Christmas!
What can I say? Spending Christmas in Florence is magical. And staying at this home made it even better. We were able to even take advantage of a Christmas Eve dinner catered by Andrea and his family. Lorenzo is a gracious and honest host who was able to help with whatever we needed. I would recommend this villa to anyone and would love to visit again in the summer.

First Class
An amazing home with everything you would need and then some. Lorenzo could not be nicer and more accommodating. Every day was perfect. The seated dinner for 16 that we had in the house was exquisit. The wines and chef cooked meal in the villa were all over the top. I cannot wait to go back!!

Perfect oasis for anyone with appreciation for beauty (and convenience)!
We stayed at the villa as ten adult friends on a cycling vacation. wow! Gorgeous location but peaceful and away from the city fuss. want the fuss? no problem....hop on the bus practically out your front door and you are in city center in 10 minutes. The views are outstanding, the house decor interesting (we used the firepit twice but still too cold for the pool) and Lorenzo is a caring and considerate host. We have stayed in this are several times in several different villas and love the proximity to the history scenery and restaurants of Fiesole. Next time we come, we come back here!

Like Living in a Postcard
From the moment we walked through the gate of Villa Acacia we felt welcomed and embraced by the beauty of the villa and grounds. There were eight of us who experienced the peaceful surroundings, the comfort of the spacious villa which gave each privacy in addition to places to converse and dine together.
