Nice place but moth problem, toilet seat was broken, but useable.

The location was great and our booking agent was easy to get a hold of. Our only complaint was the bedroom mattress, which is in dire need of replacement. Otherwise, the cabin had everything we may have needed and we enjoyed watching the deer in the mornings.

Lovely stay at a just-right-for-us cabin.

Due to booking error on property end, although our reservation had been confirmed and paid in full, our stay was cancelled! So we scrambled to find something else, at the final hour. Grrr.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The cabin is well furnished in most respects with hardwood floors, comfortable living room furniture, gas fireplace and cable tv and a well stocked kitchen. Several mule deer lounged in the yard each morning and a great horned owl perched on a nearby telephone pole.
There were a few issues and problems that detracted from our stay. We arrived to find that the cabin had not been cleaned by the host, all linens lay on the floor in a heap, of course the bed was unattended to. This was solved when the housekeeper came after contact with the host. However, no extra toilet paper was left, we ran out half way through our time there, so we had to buy our own. A call to the host (Charles) resulted in another apology but no offer to get us additional tp.
The bed, which has been criticized in other reviews was as described by several as "bad to terrible" true as far as we are concerned.
We were not told in the listing to bring our own toiletries, such as hand/shower soap, shampoo, etc., but we did anyway, good thing.
The outdoor grill was a joke. It obviously had not been used for some time and if you should try to light it, it may not light or worse. I have seen better grills left out on curbsides for free.
The listing was found first on VRBO, then we suddenly were on EVOLVE, and finally ended up on JOYOUS VACATIONS. This looked like "shell corporations" trying to shed their responsibilities.
While we really enjoyed Buena Vista, Colorado, and the fact that the location of the cabin was ideal, I will not be attempting to book through VRBO again. FYI, we are life long residents of Colorado and have broad knowledge of the state and types of accommodations available.

The place was pretty clean when we arrived, though we had to clean the kitchen more thoroughly.
The bed however was HORRIBLE. It needs replaced badly. The fireplace never did work, which was disappointing as it's one of the reasons we chose to stay there. We asked about getting it working, and were told to get out the little tiny space heater. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and wanted it for atmosphere, not heat.
The pictures were very misleading as to the seclusion of the place. Pay close attention to the location on a map and you'll see it's very much in a residential location.
Fortunately, Buena Vista is beautiful!

Let's start with the good.
The cabin was in the perfect location. I was able to walk into town. It was cozy, quiet, there were deer in the yard every day, it was great to have a kitchen so I didn't have to eat out every meal and it was really nice to have a fireplace as even in June the evenings were chilly. It was also great to be able to have the windows open to let the fresh air in and sit on the porch to eat or read.
There were some challenges though.
The code to the key box had been changed last minute and I did not get the email for this in time. If you're someone who checks your email constantly then this wouldn't have been an issue. Pictures of the property showed extra rolls of toilet paper in the bathroom, but upon arriving there was 1/2 of a roll. They were very specific about it being my responsibility to take out the trash, but there were no trash bags in the cabin. There wasn't even one in the trash can. Also, the cabin was not very clean. I spent about an hour cleaning before I was satisfied. There was hair in the bathroom sink and shower along with a small army of moths who had made camp in the bathroom. The leather chair in the living room looked dirty so I wiped it down and the damp paper towels I used were showing a lot of grime that I had wiped off. All of the cloth seats of the kitchen table chairs looked really soiled but there was nothing I could do about that.
I texted the contact I was given and he responded very promptly. I did not mention how dirty things were, but asked about the toilet paper and trash bags. He said they should have been provided and asked if I could go buy some because no one would be in the area to bring them until the next day. He asked me to email him the receipt and he would be sure I was reimbursed. However, I was able to purchase the items very cheap so I didn't bother sending the receipt. He was very apologetic and said they had lost their housekeeper. This explained everything and I definitely understand the challenges of finding good help sometimes so I was able to get over it pretty quickly.
Overall, because of the price I paid, I was not expecting much so I wasn't disappointed for long. The truth is I would stay there again and perhaps just be prepared to bring my own cleaning supplies :)

Great property in a group of other cabins. Place had everything we needed. Really our only knock on the place was the bed. The bed needs replacement really badly. Our hips and back are still sore. Great location though we really enjoyed it!

Aweful! Not worth the price! Even one star is too many.
The bed was old and horrible. All the furniture looks to be at least 50 years old and not comfortable at all. Only had two old, tiny, paper thin, smelly towels. Dog hair was everywhere and on all the furniture. Was not worth the premium price for this cabin. Could have stayed in a really nice hotel cheaper. No privacy. Was in the middle of a neighborhood with a view of only a giant abandoned, deteriorated, yellow building. There was no smoke detector, which I’m sure is some type of code violation. The porch was 1/2 painted and had used painting materials just laying around outside. Checked out a day early (even though there is no refund) to stay at a hotel our last night to get a good nights rest before heading home to Texas. Would not recommend this cabin to anyone.

Quiet, adorable cabin biking distance to everything in town.
This cabin has a fully equipped kitchen and great hot water. It is very quiet especially at night. We enjoyed our stay very much and would book this very same cabin again.

Anniversary
This was a nice location in Buena Vista. However this place could use some serious updating. The towels were threadbare and wouldn't cost too much to get new ones. We enjoyed ourselves for a few night but left a night early.

Quaint cabin in a quiet area of town
Nice simple place to stay with plenty of privacy, and a good way to get away for the weekend. No WiFi also, so you’ll have to take full advantage of BV instead! Definitely recommended for others.
3.6
Cozy and Comfortable
Just the right amount of privacy and cozy.
