The room was lovely, amazing bathroom. Breakfast included…generous variety. Next to the monastery. Quiet restful location . Lovely drive to the location.
Restaurant staff didn’t speak much English, which is fine, but weren’t patient when we tried to communicate. Didnt matter too much. We did have to pay a small entry fee for the monastery tour..we didn’t mind. The tour was in Spanish, again ok as we are in Spain! But our google translate didn’t keep up!

Habitacion 205 ;)

One of the best places I have been, you can truly relax in here. Clean, very nice location.
That’s not property’s fault, but take into account that there are not many options around to eat, so you should plan this in advance otherwise by car within the next village you have some restaurants

Staff were very friendly, although apart from the reception staff, very few others in the restaurant etc spoke any English. The suite of rooms was enormous, and they were comfortable although it was hot, having no air conditioning. You have to like an old style of decor! The monasteries are really interesting to visit, although all visits are through Spanish guided tours, and aside from some basic information online there is no information available about Suso in English, and just a few boards of information in English in Yuso, the larger monastery. Saw some really interesting things though.
Compared with other places we stayed in the area, our stay here was more expensive and less comfortable than other places. It was special spending time in the monastery environment though.

The monastery and scenery were beautiful! It was very quiet and peaceful, which is exactly what we were looking for. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the room was very clean. The breakfast was great.
The furniture is a bit old and outdated. I realize it is supposed to have a vintage appearance, but some things were just worn out and looked like they needed to be replaced. The lighting in the bathroom was horrible. It looked like the main light was out and there were only two small lights above the mirror that provided awful shadows and made it difficult to put my make up on. Our refrigerator was not working so we could not keep drinks or leftovers cold. There is no air conditioning and we were on the top floor, which could get pretty warm and humid.

The hotel is located in Yuso monastery. We visited right after the ticket office opened and had a super good private tour in the monastery in English.
the restaurant was rather expensive vs the quality of the food. the wine was great, though

Beautiful views & nice staff
very rundown, first room the fridge was broken, so they promptly up graded us to better room fridge working.
7 pm at night they started using loud diesel weed eaters on the garden followed by 9:30 am, the same the next morning, very loud machinery operating in the garden.
The shower was broken, and one of the taps came off in my hand, and a piece of the window broke off
Clearly it’s not being well maintained.
Staff were friendly, and helpful.
Furniture in the bar and lounge, mismatched and old.
It was all of that are there was more or less five or six people staying there.

Satisfied except for transportation access
The bus is bad. There is no other way but to come by car. Due to Nahera's taxi situation, I couldn't secure a taxi and couldn't come to the hotel. It is necessary to operate the hotel buses of Nahera and Sanmijan.

What a beautiful place! The setting in the hills is stunning and it has been very sympathetically renovated.
The reception staff were really friendly and helpful as well as the charming bar and restaurant staff.
The room was exceptionally clean and the bed was very comfortable.
Dinner was delicious and very good value- the monastery’s wine was great too.
We loved our stay and would’ve liked to stay longer!

The hotel is in a historic building in a lovely setting. We liked it's unique character, and location in the valley. The staff were friendly and helpful, and offered advice on visiting the area. The room was spacious with mountain views. The breakfast was huge.

great location, incredible historic building. Abundant and tasty breakfast.
it’s a pity some furniture and building elements were outdated and not as antique or charming as the essence of the building.

the room and marble bathroom were wonderful. high quality toiletries. the room had two arches with shutters and balcony doors overlooking the mountain and forest. the view was beautiful and extremely tranquil. with the balcony doors open I could hear the creek and wind in the trees.
enjoyed a walk by the creek. the path is bit overgrown
it's perfectly located to visit the Monasteries of San Millan de Cogolla, Suso and Yuso.
two staff members were extraordinarily rude and ill-mannered. given the quality of the hotel I was shocked by the tone of voice used and the questions asked of me.
As I was walking the Camino I arrived in trekking clothes and sandals with my backpack. instead of being treated with dignity and respect, I was treated like a pauper who had wandered in off the street by accident thinking the hotel was a donativo Albergue.
the receptionist ignored, then when she eventually decided she might say something she did believe that someone looking like a pilgrim could possibly be staying at the hotel. she even asked me who's passport I had! as though I had stolen it!
after my walk by the creek, the person who apprared to be the manager called out to me, again assuming I was a homeless person stumbling into the wrong establishment.
at dinner I waited to be seated for quiet some time. the waiter seated me and while I waited some time for the menu, the manager came by and demanded to know if I was a guest of the hotel and a very disdainful manner. when I said yes, he said very tersely "What room number " as though I was lying. I have never be treated by hospitality staff so incredibly badly after many decades of travel.
I ordered lamb chops which had been so tender and tasty in a wonderful restaurant in Navarette. the lamb chops dished up at this hotel were paper thin, way over cooked so they were hard on the outside, and greasy. they were just awful. I should have sent them back to the kitchen.
the lady serving breakfast was lovely and the only redeeming feature for a very, very bad experience at this hotel.

It's a gorgeous building, filled with history. It's really exciting to be spending some time here. Our room was large with huge beds and two vintage windows overlooking the garden and the mountain.
Our room wasn't impeccable. It also wasn't heated for our arrival. It took a while to heat it up once we unscrew the large radiator. There was dark hair on bed linen and also in the bathtub. The water glasses were dirty. There was quite a large amount of dust balls here and there. The sockets by the bed are dated and wouldn't allow us to charge our device. Despite us having 3 different EU adapters none would fit properly into the socket. Eventually, I found one proper socket behind the desk and one on the corridor. For the price paid (€99), it's very disappointing.
