Located on a hill in the heart of Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest and most fascinating quarter, this bright apartment is ideal for families or groups. Sunny and spacious, it affords glorious views over the beautiful Tagus estuary. If you’re a romantic or tend towards contemplation, this is the best place to enjoy a view that will remain with you for the rest of your life.
Lovely interiors, a sun-drenched living room, scenic views and beautiful surroundings are this apartment’s main features.
It’s also right next door to some national “jewels”, such as the convent of São Vicente de Fora, Sé Cathedral and São Jorge Castle. There are plenty of restaurants and Fado venues in the neighborhood, as well as the lively, picturesque flea market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Once you open the door to the apartment you’ll be struck by the scenic, incredibly blue water of the river Tagus. Trust us, it’s a view that will remain with you for the rest of your life! So, to make the most of this scenery, take a seat, pick up a glass of wine in one hand, maybe a book in the other, and just dream away!
This homely apartment offers 3 bedrooms (1 with a double bed, the other 2 can have a double bed or 2 singles) and 3 bathrooms (with showers, one is en suite). The 2 bedrooms with river view include traditional balconies, with decorated iron railings, tall windows and unusually high ceilings, as does the spacious and comfortable living-room. The other side looks onto a blind alley with quaint cobblestone streets.
NEIGHBORHOOD
This typical quarter, close to monuments such as São Vicente de Fora convent or the Panteão Nacional, is home to souvenir shops, good value for money restaurants, the “Feira da Ladra” (the flea market on Tuesdays and Saturdays), the Fado Museum and also some of Lisbon’s best Fado venues.
Enjoying a traditional dinner to the sound of Portuguese guitars and the dramatic voices of Fado singers, will make you enter a state of inexplicable melancholy which the Portuguese call “saudade”.
This apartment is exceptionally well situated to explore the maze of winding alleyways, cobbled stone streets, old fountains and beautiful aristocratic façades. On foot, obviously. On your way, you’ll also come across grocers, shoemakers and other artisans who have been selling their products for over 40 years! This is real, genuine Lisbon, the one most visitors fall in love at first sight.
The apartment is within walking distance of some of Lisbon’s highlights: 5 min from the Fado Museum, the National Pantheon (where the Portuguese royal family and prestigious Portuguese are buried) and the convent of São Vicente de Fora; São Jorge Castle and the Sé Cathedral are about 10 min away; Praça do Comércio and downtown Rossio square no more than 20 min; aristocratic Chiado and alternative Bairro Alto quarters – about 25 min. Of course, you’ll also have to explore Belém – the museum quarter. So please take a bus or a tram and spend some time there. There’s loads to see in Belém!
Nearby, less than a 5 min walk away, runs the ultra-famous 28 tram line which passes through some of the city’s best historical areas, as well as Santa Apolónia metro and train station, which links Lisbon to all the major cities. The metro network reaches a good part of Lisbon. Metro and buses can also take you to Cais do Sodré train station, which serves the beautiful Cascais and Estoril summer resorts, or to Rossio train station, from where you can reach Lord Byron’s beloved town of Sintra.

- restricted car area. Private cars can go to where the street starts (about 40m from the apartment). Taxis, though, can leave you at the apartment door. There is a public car park nearby (8€/24h)
- there is a refundable security deposit of 350€ (payable with credit card through the Paypal system - no need to have a Paypal account)
- check-in: from 4 pm / check-out: from 8 to 11 am. There is no problem in arriving late; however please note that after 10 pm there will be a late check-in fee*. If you need a different check-in / check-out time, please let us know. We’ll try to make it as flexible as possible as we want our guests to feel relaxed and happy (it depends mainly on whether it interferes with other reservations or not).
- Additionally, upon check-in or departure, we are happy to keep your luggage in our office for a few hours if possible.
*late check-in fee: 30€ (from 10pm); 40€ (from midnight). The key can be collected from a safe box at our office and check-in can be done the next morning at no extra cost. Property was 5 out of 5. No issues , smooth checkin even got in early. Communication w with rental Company and Owner Was perfect. The Location is ideal we came in to Apolonia train station and a 5 Min walk up to the apartment. Everything available within 1-2 min walk. Groceries, souvenirs, great restaurants etc. Nunno’s Italian was fantastic make sure
To try it. The shop Directly below is a local hang out and it got pretty loud and smoky a couple
Times so had to keep the windows closed most of the time. Great water pressure and lots of hot water. Kitchen is well stocked and all needed glasses etc available. We used all the appliances except the clothes dryer. Everything worked great. It’s was nice staying in an authentic Portuguese home. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Apartment is clean with lovely decor. Property owner and manager very quick and courteous with responses to any questions and freely offered great suggestions about activities to do in the city. Excellent orientation packets in apartment in multiple languages. Close to metro (though there is a hill - but that's Lisbon, hills are unavoidable). Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to travel to Lisbon as a great option.

Friends, very nice and with three shower rooms and toilets it was great for our group. Good location with an easy walk into the town centre .

Excellent location, clean and the property manager was very helpful! The amount of towels provided were more than sufficient.The communication with the owner was excellent and the check-in /out was efficient and seamless. The price was great for the location.
The only negative was that the TV was difficult to operate (instructions were weak). The internet worked great for 5 users and the welcome binder was very useful. The online pictures made the apartment seem larger than it was.

Had four nights in Lisbon in this excellent apartment. We felt very welcome when met on arrival and introduced to the apartment which was large and airy and comfortable for our party of five adults.

Paula and Carlos were tremendously helpful and informative leading up to our stay and checking in.
Considering you are in the heart of Lisbon’s oldest district, Alfama, place was very appropriate and bedrooms were well spaced from each other. It’s a very quaint space that is walking distance to many restaurants and even some historic sites!
My one gripe was that noise levels from outdoors and the floor above was incessant.
All in all though, Lisbon, its people, culture and food are all glorious.
We’ll be back.

This apartment was conveniently located a few blocks from Santa Apoloina rail station which made it easy to get in and around Lisbon. The building is very old and the apartment is a maze of small rooms connected by hallways. There was some problem with the plumbing as all 3 bathrooms smelled of sewage. The small living room had a couch that sat 2 people comfortably but rest of seating was uncomfortable chairs around a large dining table. This would be better as a 2-bedroom since the third bedroom off the dining room was so small that the doors couldn't even close. Very expensive for what we got.

The apartment was amazing! We never expected to find 3 bedrooms and three full bath with a view of the water for such a reasonable price. The space was light and airy. The beds were comfortable and the location was perfect. Carlos did a fabulous job of introducing us not only to the apartment but to Lisbon as well with great recommendations for restaurants and sights to visit. I would highly recommend this rental and hope to return soon.

This apartment worked very well for our 3 night stay in Lisbon. The location in Alfama was perfect for experiencing the day to day activities of Lisbon. Our party of 3 couples each had there own bedroom and bath, the seating area was comfortable and the kitchen well appointed. Its central location to so many wonderful restaurants, small grocery, and bakeries was great.

We slept 8 adults and it was very comfortable. Having 3 bathrooms is key. The location is great, a few cute bars on the street which are easily walkable. Easy access to public transit. Would recommend!

We had a great time staying in the apartment in Alfama. Lots of restaurants and coffee shops nearby, and only a few blocks to the Metro and train station. The apartment was very clean, and had everything we needed for our stay.
The owner, Paula was so nice and helpful when we were booking our trip, as was Nuno, the representative who checked us in and out of the rental.

Our extended family of grandparents, parents, and two teen children enjoyed this charming, spacious flat. The manager recommended the restaurant Nonna just a block away. We ended up dining there 3 times in our 5 day stay. The owner Manuel was fantastic and the food was stunning. We highly recommended the place to stay and that dining experience.

This is a lovely apartment in the heart of Alfama. It has a beautiful view of the river and easy access to the city. The street outside of the apartment can be loud but the windows block out most of the noise when you close them. Great place to stay.

First pluses: well stocked kitchen, close to train station/river.clean sheets, minuses: bathrooms were beyond small, one ensuite bathroom was basically not usable (larger bathrooms on cruise ships interior cabins), manager was responsive but claimed their property faults were part of my "bad luck wave".. , one door to outside balcony was broken, there was a protruding nail in the floor that caught my wife's foot. not the cleanest but maybe "B" grade. tv was missing a component and had to call to get resolved.
Now for the location pluses close to train station. Minus noisy street and cigarette smoke (so keep the windows closed and be warm or keep them open to let a breeze in and endure the noise and smoke,all hours)
So the unit was ok but we would not stay there again
Also we had an addition to our party (1) who was only staying 2 nights and the manager charged for (6) and would not pro rate the additional fee. This to be taken up with VRBO.

Fun in Lisbon!
Our stay in Lisbon was very special. The apartment is easy walking distance to shops food and sights. Fatima and Carlos were ready to answer any questions and made our stay very comfortable. The apartment is full of beautiful old world charm with all the modern you need in todays world. It’s a great place to stay!

Charming apartment, great location!!
The apartment was adorable, spacious, and located close to the train and buses (although its cheaper and faster to take a taxi). We loved the gorgeous high ceilings and the fact that each of the three of us had our own bedroom and bathroom. If you are a light sleeper, take the bedroom in the back, as the streets are lively late into the night.

We really enjoyed staying in this apartment. Great for 2 couples. Superb location in Alfama. I was worried about noise but we didn't have any problems. Great check in by Daniel. It's an old building and there are stairs!

Lovely apartment and great management.
Carlos spent a great deal of time going over must-see and must-eat locations in and around Lisbon. His recommendations were spot on - especially his suggestion to spend more time at Quinta da Regaleira than at the Pena Palace. Fatima was extremely responsive when we had an issue overnight (in the early AM on New Years Day no less) and took care of our issue promptly and efficiently. I cannot stress how helpful the apartment management was.
The apartment itself is very spacious and nicely appointed. It was homey and comfortable with many items like hand soap, coffee, dish washer detergent provided. The apartment is located a few minutes from the metro and several bus stops (Carlos gave us some VIVA cards to get started). A Pingo Doce market is in the metro station nearest to the apartment with lots of pre-made foods and whatever else you may need. There are a number of restaurants within easy walking distance of the apartment but getting to the area around Rossi Station only takes about 15 minutes by walking and the metro.
We had a wonderful stay and would recommend this apartment as well as HEART and SOUL for a Lisbon stay.

Heart and Soul Lisbon is a great company to work with. They were responsive and extremely helpful, especially with the check in process. Carlos was helpful giving us suggestions on places to visit and eat. All his recommendations were spot on. They arranged our taxi back to the airport, due our group size.
The apartment was a great value and location. We were 2 couples and 1 more adult. The apartment was clean and updated. The only negative, which could have been just the weekend we were there, was noise levels in the building and coming from the street. Being in an older building you could hear other people in the building and street noise. The back bedroom was very quiet, but the 2 front bedrooms picked up the noise from the street.

The apartment was all we needed for our stay in Lisbon, the stairs were a bit much with our luggage. Their orientation to Lisbon, transportation and attractions was great. Feel it was well worth the dollars spent. Had a great time.

Great location in Alfama District
The layout of the place was unique but it worked for the 6 of us. It was a bit noisy, making it a little difficult to sleep, but otherwise comfortable. One of the bathrooms was pretty smelly and should be addressed. Cute kitchen and living room area with lots of sunlight.

Amazing Experience!
Our family of 5 traveled from Nashville, Tennessee to Lisbon for the first time and were fortunate enough to stay in Alfama. From the cobblestone/tile streets, to the cafés, hearing the fado music at night, watching the ships come in to port, walking to the cathedral and castle... or just around the city… We fell in love with this place. The property was fantastic and having three bathrooms was luxurious especially considering the location. Carlos was tremendously kind and offered so many wonderful suggestions that made our trip even more memorable… We cannot wait to come back to Lisbon and hopefully stay here again. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay and a lifetime of memories.

Lovely property in Alfama
This property worked well for our group. It was a five minute uphill walk from the train station. The location was fabulous. The building is an older building in one of the historic districts of Lisbon. We loved the atmosphere! The owners were very easy to deal with and very professional. We would highly recommend it.

Great location - Wonderful Stay
We had a great time here. Our flight arrived late and we were still personally greater by Francisco who showed us around and made us feel at home. The washing machine was out of service but we had great support. Our laundry was picked up, cleaned and returned the same day -a very nice touch. It is a great location within walking distance to the train/metro station and many of the sites. We had a great stay.

Great View with Old World Charm
6 of us stayed a week in Lisbon visiting Sintra, Cascais, and Lagos by train.The apartment has old world charm and a great view of the river with close proximity to train, metro, bus, tram, ferry,and taxi. There were many stores, grocery and restaurants in the Alfama area that served excellent food. The staff of Heart and Soul were helpful, responsive and lots of fun.

Great Apartment in Lisbon, clean, spacious, quiet, well equipped.
3 couples stayed here at the end of Sept 2017. We had a good introductory meeting with Francisco where he provided information about Lisbon and our neighborhood. He left us with a bottle of wine and cookies as a welcome. The kitchen had some essentials supplies to get us started. The apartment was clean and the rooms comfortable. It was quiet considering it was in the city. The location was very convienent. Would recommend the apartment to others.
