About this house rental
The house has retained many of its period features and is tastefully decorated with a mixture of antique and modern furniture. It is very light and thoughtfully arranged.
The owner is a gourmet cook, so the kitchen has every device and appliance. There is an American style BBQ gas grill in its own outdoor area. There are 3 double bedrooms. Starting at the top of the house, the bedroom on the 2nd floor has twin beds which can also be joined to make a king sized bed. On the half landing below is a shower room with power shower and a douche hose next to the toilet. On the first floor is the master double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower in the bath, toilet and bidet. On the half landing below is a shower room and toilet. This landing leads to a sunny terrace with seating for 8. Then on the ground floor is the sitting room. It is light and airy with windows at both ends. It has a quality sofabed which makes into a double bed. On the half landing below the sitting room is the third bedroom/TV family room. The bed is a very comfortable queen size sofabed. This bedroom leads to the BBQ patio - best only used by those used to gas BBQs! Finally on the lower ground floor is the dining room with the adjacent very well equipped kitchen, recently enlarged.
There is also a single airbed which can be put in one of the bedrooms for a child if needed. Child's crib as well,
Sky Tv in sitting room and bedrooms, extensive saved classic movies, ballets, operas

The location of this home cannot be beat! A quick 15 to Knightsbridge or South Kensington stops. So many great restaurants nearby (we loved the Indian restaurant literally around the corner), groceries and pharmacy all close. Harrods may be overpriced for items (unless you only want high end luxury brands), but the food halls are amazing if you want to pick something up close by. The house itself feels like you are staying at your Aunt and Uncles house. Very lived in and has everything you need. The only issue is all the stairs. We were fine with it, but if you have mobility issues it could be a problem. Love that you are given a few food items to get you started and Sue is a great help with information! Would stay here again.

This flat has an ideal location with easy access to tube lines, grocery stores, restaurants, and more. We felt like Londoners, living in the 7 (!) stories of the unit. Bathrooms are newly redone and very nice. Bedrooms have good light and are good in size, and we appreciated the flexibility of the sofa bed for our kiddos.
The house is well lived in, and you'll find the owner's clothing, toiletries, etc. in the drawers and closets. We would have liked more empty space for our own unpacking given we were staying for a week.
While generally a quiet neighborhood, on weekend nights there was a lot of car traffic and foot traffic/voices, and bedrooms are on the street side. Earplugs did the trick!
Sue the house manager was lovely to work with and provided many recommendations. Bill was easy to work with as well.

We had a wonderful time. The location is perfect, very quiet and residential, still very close to public transportation. Sue welcomed us and provided a lot of information about restaurants and tips on travel. The house has a lot of stairs, but it didn’t bother us at all. Can’t wait to book this place again.

My husband and I went to London for a medical conference and brought our children and grandma with us. The location was amazing! Close to lots of stores and cafes. Easy walking to transportation. The home was cozy and met our family’s needs well. The manager Sue left us sparkling nonalcoholic Champaign for the kids and other kitchen items to welcome us. We would love to stay there again when back in London!
4.9
We loved staying here in this quiet, convenient to everything home. It gave our adult family of four room to spread out. Two close by tube stations and busses will take you anywhere you want to go. Sue was very helpful and easy to work with. Highly recommend!

Staying at the property is very much like being a guest at someone’s home. It is lived in, in a good sense. The kitchen is a cook’s kitchen with modern appliances and stocked with basics (salt, pepper, seasoning, and oil). TV throughout the house with Sky and some premium channels. Numerous interesting books in various rooms. The house is spread out vertically over four levels with the bedrooms on the upper two. Therefore one needs to deal with the stairs, particularly on arrival and departure with luggage. The bathrooms are updated with plenty of hot water.
The location of the house is on a perfect quiet Knightsbridge street but only one block away from the Brompton Road with all the shopping, transportation, and museums nearby.
If you want to live like a local this is the property for you. If you want a sleek modernistic rental that is not lived in choose elsewhere.
It is perfect for two couples or a small family without very young children ( stairs).
We thought the house was excellent.

The house was in a wonderful quiet very accessible neighborhood. The house itself was worn but charming with comfortable accommodations for my husband and I and our three grandsons. We were surprised by the number of stairs and that two of the three bathrooms involved climbing stairs and were not on the same level as the bedrooms.

Family of five adults thoroughly enjoyed this property as a bar for exploring central London. Property is clean and warm with all the necessaries to live comfortably. Close to either So Ken or Knightsbridge tube stations. Wonderful restaurants abound. Our property liason, Sue, was a wealth of recommendations. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay in William’s house. It is a very well appointed home with an excellent kitchen, very good bathrooms and good laundry appliances.
The location was amazing. The house is in a quiet street very close to Harrods, the South Kensington’s museums, and Hyde Park. There are two supermarkets and countless cafes very nearby. And it is within easy walk if two Tube stations.

Great location. Many coffee shop choices around the corner. Lots of restaurants and shopping. Amazing high end consignment store out the front door. Lots of space to separate in the house. Nice kitchen with everything you need.

Great location worked well for our stay with our three teenage granddaughters.
We were able to walk everywhere and easy to get a cab. The manager Sue met us there recommended restaurants and activities. She also arranged our transfer to Heathrow. A charming Historic 4 story home was perfect for
us. There are many stairs we as grandparents handled it fine and our bedroom was on the mid level. A good bathroom situation 3 full modern bathrooms. Most enjoyable stay.

We had a great stay here. Quintessentially London in appearance, very charming and full of character. Easy access to Tube, Hyde Park, Harrod’s, V&A Museum.

Sue set us up for a wonderful stay! She is a wealth of knowledge and had flowers, champagne and a fridge full of goods waiting for us. Very welcoming! In addition plenty of space for all to enjoy and the location was fabulous. We could not have imagined a better time. Thanks for many amazing memories!

Wonderful hidden gem near V and A museum, Harrods and loads of shops (including high end fashion resale) and nice restaurants. Sue the property manager greeted us with groceries, champagne and flowers. Completely recommend. Lots of stairs within the unit so be prepared. Nice neighbors around the block too. A lovely retreat after a long day of sightseeing.

Just back from a phenomenal week at this property in London. The location is superb; despite being so conveniently located the neighborhood was very, very quiet. The house is huge by London standards—it easily accommodated the 7 in our party. Plus, there are 3 bathrooms; virtually unheard of in London. The property is a 10 minute walk from the Knightsbridge Tube Station and the Piccadilly line, and about a 15 minute walk to the South Kensington Station and the District and Circle lines. Also, there is a Tesco and Waitrose and Boots within a 5 minute walk of the house. The owners were wonderful to our family—we spoke on the phone before we arrived and they were very helpful. Big added plus: we were there in late winter so we did not need it, but the house also has air conditioning! Perfect for a summer trip. Book this property—you will not be disappointed. I would book again for my next trip to London.

The property was exactly as described. We were a family of 4 adults and our 2 older children also joined for 2 nights, which was good but more comfortable for 4. The house has everything we needed and more! The owner has lots of stuff there as well. Lots of stairs but that didn’t bother us. Location perfect, close to Harrods and lots of action nearby, but also quiet and safe neighborhood, close to tube and easy to get cabs or walk everywhere .

Great location, was able to walk everywhere.

We look forward to seeing it in person

To be perfectly honest when we first arrived we thought the house was a lot smaller than it looked online. It was built in the 1820s so we can expect it to be on the smaller side and being Americans were used to things that are larger but that being said we grew to love the house each day. The location could not have been more perfect and we really enjoyed Sue who visited us the first day and gave us all kinds of pointers about the area. It is five levels so you do get your exercise and if I were compromised in anyway physically I would re consider !!
4.9
What a great place to stay and in such a perfect location! 10 minutes or less from two tube stations and a quiet neighborhood. We certainly felt safe and only a short walk to food, coffee, groceries, etc. House was very nice and had about everything you might need. Just be prepared for lots of stairs but that helped us work off our vacation appetites!

Our family of 5 stayed for 10 days. Great location in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. The townhouse is starting to show a little wear and tear and is pretty full (almost cluttered) with owner belongings. But all-in-all it met our needs and was just what we were looking for. We would recommend, especially if location is your top priority.
4.9
Ideal place to stay with a family. The location works well, the check in was easy and they accommodated our early flight. You really get to feel like you live in London.

Fantastic location
Great townhouse that’s close to tube stops, centrally located and very walkable. Communication with the owner was easy, he was very responsive. Person who met us to let us in was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us a bunch of great tips. There is a lovely terrace to sit outside and enjoy breakfast or a drink. Would recommend.

It was a bit warm when we arrived but once we opened the windows, it cooled down nicely. Great location!

Wonderful!
Had a wonderful stay in London. Very comfortable for a family of five. Location is perfect with an easy walk to Hyde Park, museums, and shopping. Coffee shops and small grocery store just around the corner. The food hall at Harrod’s is a great place to grab lunch or dinner. Bill and Sue go above and beyond to make everyone welcome. Thank you for a wonderful trip!

We spent 9 nights at this amazing property. Not a single complaint. We were a party of 6 ranging in ages from 20 to 71. The property was CLEAN, exactly as depicted in photos, and communication was outstanding.
The house was perfect. So clean, comfortable beds, and 3 full bathrooms. Communication with the property owner was flawless. Kind and so easy to contact. We were greeted by Sue, after a long night flight. She familiarized us with both the house and surrounding areas. We were given a beautiful bottle of champagne as well as milk, eggs, bread, fresh fruit and flowers, and cookies. It was so unexpected and lovely. Although we did not do any cooking, the kitchen had everything you could ever need in it, including fresh ginger, onions, etc... if you decided you wanted to cook there was no reason not to. Cute back deck to sit outside in mornings or to relax at the very end of our day.
3 full baths!!!!! One bathroom was very small but it didn't matter. It had a full shower, toilet, and sink. The bathrooms were well equipped and clean. Owners had left a first aid kit (if needed) and air freshener along with soaps and lotions.
Bedrooms were all very comfortable with ample closet and drawer space. One bedroom had a queen bed, one had 2 twin beds (which could be converted to a queen) and one bedroom was what I would have called a second living room with a sofa bed. It suited our needs perfectly.
I want to mention that with 6 of us showering daily in the house, we never had a problem with hot water or water pressure.
The location could not be beat. We were right around the corner from Harrods but you would never know it when you were at the house. It was a little side street perfectly tucked away. It was very quiet at night and I always felt safe no matter what time we arrived back at home. Very upscale area. Lovely coffee shop on the corner where we had breakfast daily. Short walk to both the South Kensington or Knightsbridge tube stations. Very easy to get to anywhere in London. Perfect location. 10 minute walk to Kensington Gardens and we were even able to walk to Kensington Palace (about 30 minutes) but stunning walk!
The only thing to caution is the stairs. There are 6 mini flights of stairs. We had no problem with that but if you have issues with stairs just factor that in. If we ever return, we will definitely be staying here again! This was an AMAZING find!!! Thank you Bill!

What a cute, wonderful, well loved little house filled with books, and art and an incredibly well equipped kitchen. We really loved the central location for exploring the city but it is incredibly quiet we slept so well. William is a terrific host and could not have been more accommodating. This is not some pristine rental, it’s a genuine home overflowing with character.

Excellent location. One block off of a busy road yet very quiet. Close to bus and tube stations. Beautiful townhome, be aware, many flights of steep stairs. Stairs no problem for us but I imagine some people may have an issue.

Knightsbridge Hideaway
The location was perfect. I call it a hideaway, because you really are in the thick of things, but the street is quiet and you don't feel like you are in the city.
Bill and Kristine were excellent hosts. Bill stayed in contact with me prior to our trip and we exchanged many details. There was so much confusion due to covid. They met us on our arrival and explained all the ins and outs of the house. Great house and enjoyed the outdoor space for "predinner" cocktails! They greeted us with champagne and dinner invitation. Way above and beyond anything I have encountered before. They also checked in with me after a coupe of days to be sure everything was running smoothly. I appreciated that. Would definitely recomend the house and go back without hesitation.

Historic house in Great Location
We enjoyed our stay here. The location is excellent. You are located on a nice safe street just a brief 5 minute walk to the Main Street that is very close to Harrods and the underground and loads of shops. In the other direction is the Victoria and Albert museum and it is also possible to walk to the posh Chelsea neighborhood.
The communication with the owner and property manager was excellent. They were very flexible and accommodating on arrival and departure time as we had arrived from overseas travel being up all night. TheY were very helpful in answering questions in where to find things like where the cleaners had left the hair drier.
The front part of the living room with the nice sitting area we probably enjoyed the most. We didn’t use the piano in the back part of the room and probably would have loved one more comfy chair too instead but it looked nice.
The kitchen was also very nice and the TVs and internet worked well.
It was late fall so we didn’t get to use the patio or grill but they looked nice. The washer and drier worked well. Once we figured out how to use the water, we had good hot showers- no issues; we just took brief showers and not all at once. The champagne and water left in the refrigerator was also really nice and it was nice they had left coffee but we didn’t use it as we brought our own.
The house has a lot of character- I didn’t just want to stay in a sterile apartment that could have been anywhere- you felt like you were in the Jolly old UK. The house has a lot of books if you are a quick read. Several bedrooms have fireplaces- we didn’t use them as I don’t think they work but they were pretty as were the historic windowsMany high ceilings with moldings.
.I think the house is most comfort ale for up to a family or party of 5 or so with at least school age children and everyone has the ability to go up and down stairs easily.
So overall a 5 rating- there are a few minor tweaks that are probably just a function of age ; the mattresses probably could be updated -and the tv room sofa was pretty hard for sleeping, and the house heat was not able to be regulated so, it got a little hot in the master bedroom.
But overall a wonderful place- to have the space of a whole house in London in such a great neighborhood for shopping and sightseeing is amazing. Again the hosts and property manager were very nice welcoming people. We appreciated the stay very much.

3.5 stars - Nice host, old property, area is like 'little Arabia', comfortable stays for 4-5 ppl
One main reason for us to book this property is because we are a party of 7 and this property offers 3 full bathrooms. We are a little disappointed on that front as even we have enough bathrooms, the water tank is not big enough to have 3 people taking shower at the same time -- my Dad complained about luke warm shower and not to mention he was hoping to take a hot bath after a long day of visiting London.
So even this property can fit up to 7, it won't be comfortable. It only has 2 bedrooms. And if this is your first time stepping into an old English townhouse, you might be a little surprised on how narrow and (pretty) steep the stairs are, and this house has a lot of them. The carpets show a lot of wear and tear, and the hand rail could use a deep cleaning.
I had no issue with communicating with the property owner before the trip (for booking etc), while what we met was actually the greeter since owners were out of town. Greeter was nice and she brought fresh flowers and a bottle of wine upon our arrival which was a nice gesture. But since there is no local phone in the townhouse, we had to use email to catch her for things we need (lights went out, can't find coffee machine, hot water question etc) and there was a lag in communication which more or less affected our experience of stay. BTW, the kitchen is fully equipped but for some reason there is no coffee machine! We asked the greeter and she has no idea either.
Location wise, the townhouse is about 8 mins walk to Knightsbridge station on Picadilly line, and it's very close to the luxury department store Harrods. I had no idea how dominate this area was by the Arabic people though. They filled up Harrods and most of the area. Later I heard Knightsbridge is the most expensive neighborhood in London, occupied primarily by those billionaires. Walking around with so many Arabic people made me feel I wasn't in London, but an Arabic country instead.
One last thing -- I wish the check out process was clearer. As I mentioned above, we don't have local phone # so calling the greeter was difficult, so I wasn't clear on what we need to do to check out. Shall we clean up the property? What is she going to come? Nothing was clearly stated anywhere. The greeter didn't show up until about 10am (as the traffic was bad) and I had to waited for her as they used physical keys to gain access to the house and I didn't want to leave without walking through the property with her.
