About this villa rental

Villa Thalia is a traditional villa full of character and charm, facing West and blessed with glorious sunsets. It has been totally renovated by a well known French architect.A large dining terrace, with a pergola covered by Bougainvillea and Passion flowers provides ample shade. The private, kidney shaped pool,8x4m. situated on the most beautiful part of the property, is surrounded by olive and cypress trees giving shade to the seating areas. A barbecue is built into the stone wall surrounding the gardens and has its own sitting area. The main villa has a spacious living room with an original fire place, which still has the traditional baking area built inside. A well equipped, open plan kitchen with a corner dining area..The kitchen door opens on to the dining terrace. From the sitting room, a stone stairway leads to the second level, where the front door provides a second entrance to the villa. The upstairs master bedroom has wooden flooring and high open beamed ceilings with French doors leading onto a balcony with some of the most stunning views to be found on the island.Adjacent to the master bedroom is a small office with a bed, suitable for a child.
A bedroom annex is attached to the main house with its entrance opening up on to the terrace with its own seating arrangement .A small path leads through the garden to the guest house, which has its own verandah with views of Skiathos and Loutraki Harbour. Just outside the front door a walk of about 45 minutes leads to the village of Glossa and continues to Loutraki's harbour. An old stone wall gives full privacy and security to the property

As soon as we opened the garden gate, we knew we had stepped into something extra special. The garden is stunning, the views/sunsets to die for & the main house was like you had stepped into an interior magazine page, but homely at the same time. The house was spotlessly clean, the beds so comfortable, constant hot water, the air conditioning super effective(extra fans if you needed it), the kitchen had everything you needed, lots of books/games, even hats! The pool is not heated, but you do not need it & it was heaven to swim in & just admire the glorious views. The Wi-Fi was excellent much to the relief of our teenage son. He loved his own space in the en-suite bedroom attached to the house. Each morning we would go to the local bakery for coffee & bread/pasteries( they do fab desserts too!) & such wonderful people. We used the Glossa butchers & supermarket, so friendly & helpful. We ate in Glossa’s fab restaurants too. The communication with Anna the owner Was excellent. The person who looks after the villa, Anthoula was fab at answering all our questions. She was a complete star when our ferry was cancelled 24 hrs before our departure & no other ferries were available. She acted quickly & arranged a contact for a sea taxi, so we didn’t miss our flight. The whole experience was 5 STARS, we would highly recommend & would return in a blink of an eye. Thank you Anja for letting us share your piece of Greek paradise!

Villa Thalia is a stunning property with magnificent views. We had a wonderful two week stay and enjoyed the location, the pool and the beautiful stone properties sitting in a tranquil location. We did, however, feel that it was misleading to state that there is parking 'onsite' as the actual parking is not at the villa but in a public parking area some way from the property and involving quite a steep path - this would not be suitable for those with mobility issues and is quite a trek if carrying back grocery shopping - thought it important to mention this. Otherwise, a lovely spot and a beautiful introduction to the island of Skopelos.

We had a fantastic holiday at Villa Thalia. What a wonderful location and Anthoula. the property manager was amazing. To come home each day after exploring the beautiful island was a joy. Sitting by the pool and watching the sunset…. I can’t wait to return.

A beautiful, charming villa with a huge amount of character and lots of space including a detached 'Guest Cottage' with it's own facilities. Aircon in all bedrooms with the lounge and kitchen areas kept cool by the thick walls of the villa. Outside spaces are superb topped by a wonderful pool area. The panoramic views are sensational and include the Port and Glossa. We were met in Glossa and guided to the villa which was necessary given how the villa is accessed. As mentioned in previous reviews the road/track down to villa Thalia is very rough, narrow and steep and not for the faint hearted. Once parked, there is a 100 yard, or so, dirt track to navigate before arriving at the villa therefore this isn't a place for anyone with mobility issues. Having said this, the pay off is a beautiful, private, quiet villa with views that are a tonic to the soul!

Thanks Anja for an unforgettable stay at Ville Thalia! We enjoyed the whole family, adults and children, the place is beautiful and directly invites you to relax in the garden with a pool and a view of the sea. The location of the villa means that it is practically necessary to rent a car, as the local paths (to the beautiful Glossa and the port), although we like to walk, are overgrown and difficult to access in the summer (even considering the terrain and the heat). The villa is well maintained, it welcomed us with cleanliness and a pleasant rural atmosphere. Thanks Anthoula for the great service, cleaning including the pool and help with transportation to/from the villa to the port. We have gathered energy for many days ahead, we are still reminiscing and look forward to stay again sometime (even with cat companions)! Katerina and family

We loved staying at Villa Thalia. We've called it a "retreat" because we felt it was a great place to recharge. You have the sea in front of you and the forest surrounding the property. All you need to do is to let yourself immerse in the peace of the place. The North part of the island was a great choice because Glossa (the main village) is a gem that has tavernas and small shops and where, after a few days, we had the feeling we know everyone at the shops and in the village. Skopelos is not for holiday party lovers. Skopelos is a great retreat away from the big cities.

Villa Thalia occupies a beautiful location looking west towards the harbour below, the distant mainland, and beyond that, the setting sun. The villa is in a lovely mature garden and has a perfect sized swimming pool. We discovered some fabulous walks nearby and spent most of our two weeks nature watching in the surrounding area. Warblers and Nightingales abound. This is by far the prettiest and most untouristy part of the island. Our main guilty pleasure was the bakery, Kyraleni, in Glossa. This was only a forty minute walk away.

Beautiful views and setting. Easy to access the best parts of the island - beaches and Glossa with good restaurants. Villa Manager was very responsive and answered all our questions very quickly
