Sheila, the owner, lives on property and met us on arrival and was quickly there to let us know when an unexpected power outage occurred. Her generator kicked on immediately and regular power soon returned. This place has a beautiful view of ocean across the street, Aran Islands, and local scenery. Itʻs a spacious property with many options for 4 to 7 people.
Not applicable - we liked it all.

It was hard to find the property. We rented the Dolphin House and the sign on the road said The Sunset House.

Sheila was the best host and friend
No issues

The owner was waiting for us upon arrival and she explained everything we needed about the accommodation. The house had been previously warmed, and even the tools we needed to bake the pizzas were on the kitchen cabinet.

Good views
We arrived at the house and the lady was immediately rude to us. Before we even arrived she had emailed and asked me what type of people we were and why we were coming to stay. We were 3 couples aged between 25-30 and were down for a nice weekend. We weren’t even in the door and She immediately starting saying she wanted a cash deposit and for me to write down my bank card details . Just extremely rude and hostile and made us feel very uncomfortable. She said and “you will be kicked out in the morning if we hear any noise from this house tonight”.
The morning we were checking out for 10am we were finished off our breakfast at 9:30 and she came around, not even saying hello she just very rudely that there will be a charge for late check out if we were not out at 10am sharp. We were our t waiting at 10 am and she did not come around until 10:30 to give us our deposit back. So so rude I wouldn’t recommend.
The bedroom myself and my partner were in had the water pump in it and very time anyone in the house turned on a tap, or used the water it would make an awful banging noise and it would go off during the night we had a hard time sleeping.

The view from the house was lovely.
Liked eveything, no complaints!

While not in the village, the house is a stones throw from Fanore village. The view from the house is spectacular and well worth experiencing. The house was spotlessly clean and spacious. Sheila is a gracious host and full of information and history about the local area, without being intrusive. It’s an excellent location to explore Clare during the day and then retire to peace and tranquility in the evening.
There was nothing I didn’t like. Sheila is making continuous improvements to the property and updating the decor but overall there is nothing would would detract from the stay given the many positives to the location.

The property itself was beautiful and spotlessly clean. However we found the host extremely hostile and uncooperative from the beginning. We understand the season was busy and hosting is stressful however we really felt as a group of young people Sheila was suspicious and aggressive towards us pre-emptively.
Our €100 damage deposit was not returned , despite the property being left in perfect condition. The host was extremely aggressive on the phone the morning of our check out when she informed us of this and would not discuss returning our deposit or even seeing us in person. She claimed more people than booked had stayed in the property, which was a complete lie. When I refuted her claim that we had a party with 9 people she became irate and aggressive and threatened to call the gardaí as she assumed we would damage her property in retaliation.
Overall the trip was honestly ruined by this hosts aggression and paranoia towards my group of friends and I. She obviously works extremely hard and is very protective of her property, which is understandable as it is beautiful, however due to her discomfort with the age of our group (24-26) we felt she was prejudiced and overreacted in an extremely unprofessional manner.
We would have happily discussed any issues the host had with us including if we made noise or anything similar, but it seemed she just wanted us gone and to keep our €100 deposit. Extremely unfortunate .

Lovely owner / manager who looked after us so well. Fab location. Great tips for local amenities

We liked its proximity to the coast and nearby surfing activities. Also there was plenty of space for all of us with 3 en-suite bedrooms.
