bed, location
1. dead crabs in the pool - was dirty
2. keys didn’t work when entering the property.
3. blinds fell off with sharpe spikes missing my back (nearly cutting it open)
4. cut my foot on some open wood and my foot was gushing with blood everywhere.

Great location, cute space.
It was soooooooo loud. Our unit was literally between the kitchen and the restaurant. It was way too loud - we could hear pots/pans, staff yelling, the unit above, people walking by and talking. Was not ideal for rest. There were also lot of ants and flies :(

Walking to the beach every morning, the best healthy breakfast and lunch restaurant, the kindness of the staff.

This is a great boutique hotel. Perfect location for accessing the beach and right in front of the good surf. I also liked the shaded property and refreshing pool. The short walk to the center of town was easy. The Destiny restaurant attached to the hotel is amazing. The food there was phenomenal!
I can’t think of anything I didn’t like about this hotel.

The attached restaurant has some of the best breakfast in guioness and is centrally located in the middle of the surf break and a close walk to stores and restaurants.

I stayed a bit more than two weeks with La Negra and I would highly recommend this place for any solo traveller trying to learn to surf. The location is impeccable with board rental on site. Juan Carlos who runs the La Negra surf school has been the best surf instructor I have ever had, he really wants you to progress. I learned so much from 4 sessions with him and wish that I could have stayed longer.
Lodging experience alone was also really nice, Andre and Laura are amazing and took great care of me during my stay. Laura accommodated many of my requests including room preference, airport shuttle arrangement among others. Free laundry was included and they do it nicely. Breakfast at Destiny was included and Destiny is the most popular brunch place among the area with an extensive menu to choose from. La Negra location was pretty central and walking distance to shop/restaurant/surf spot. It is also a great place to meet like minded travellers and the general vibe in this place is really friendly, I felt safe as a solo female traveller during my stay at La Negra.
I read some of the comments that room size was small. I think my room (room 9) was pretty spacious with comfortable bed/good quality linen. The hotel does offer many different rooms to choose from, some feature an outdoor space/smaller indoor room space. My room faced the pool and was rather quiet during the night so I slept well during my stay. (This could be an important thing for light sleepers to check since there is a lot of construction going on in the area)
In general I was really happy with my choice to stay here and wish that I could come back soon to say hi to Andre's dog Manila again!
Everything was run rather smoothly really. One tiny thing, hotel could have kept guests more informed of events/happenings around the neighborhood/restaurant recommendations/surf lesson offerings/board rentals etc. on site. I heard of Juan Carlos's lessons elsewhere before coming here, should maybe promote more! Also I did not know that Destiny restaurant was closed on Mondays still provide breakfast for hotel guests the first Monday.

Friendly staff, amazing breakfast, super close to the beach
If you are traveling alone, to get anywhere for dinner requires walking on an unlit street, but only for 5 minutes

Great staff, awesome breakfast restaurant at the hotel, nice and clean rooms. Andreas was super awesome and helpful.
Pool was sad at night, property could be illuminated a little better at night.

Andrés and his crew were SUPER welcoming! They helped me out with everything from getting a tuk tuk to booking my shuttle for the flight home. It's an awesome place to stay and the room was awesomely cozy and wholesome. Juan Carlos, the surf director was also incredibly awesome and patient with me during my surf lessons. The restaurant attached to the hotel (Destiny) has ridiculously awesome food, as well as awesome staff. Thank you guys for everything!!!
I can't think of anything.

Great food at the restaurant, amazing staff and very friendly service. Juan Carlos's surf camp/surf lessons were really really good - great explanation of the theory and a lot of fun in practice! Would definitely come here again! Great place to unplug for a week or more.

Excellent location, perfect for waking up early and taking a short stroll to the beach as well as being close to activity AND still feeling quiet. Room was extremely clean and I loved the minimalist vibe, plus nice, chilly AC. Staff was kind and available to support, thanks to Joshua for a super friendly check in and check out experience.
