The Mountain House is furnished it to a very high standard to provide a luxurious setting for a perfect alpine holiday. The other half of this room is a lovely cosy area with a corner sofa and two armchairs, all arranged around the large curved-glass wood-burning stove.

You enter the chalet on the middle floor, which includes a large main room with a double-height ceiling. Two of the six bedrooms (one with a super king bed and one with bunks plus two singles) are upstairs, and four are downstairs from this middle floor. There is a large shower room and WC upstairs, and two bathrooms (one en-suite) plus a separate WC downstairs. On the middle floor (the living area) there is also a separate WC.

We had a wonderful time staying in Bob’s beautiful chalet. Very well equipped and clean, this was a wonderful place to stay. Ample parking for 3 cars. We chose to drive the 3 mins to the lift each day, though there is a shuttle I believe. Great resort and great place to stay, many thanks Bob.

We had great communication with Bob the host who checked us in.
The chalet itself is gorgeous with great features and a beautiful setup.
Thanks for having us, if we visit the region again we’d be sure to try and book this property again.

Impressive Chalet with a superb living area and plenty of space for a bit of piece and quiet as well.
5 good bedrooms and one very small single provided more than enough for the whole three generation family
I hope we can come again to the best chalet we could aspire to.

Bob wad so helpful throughout the process. Property was lovely and worked perfectly for us. Only downside were the bathrooms, otherwise we couldn't fault it.

Lovely chalet in a quiet spot overlooking the village ( we were able to watch the New Year fireworks from one of the terraces which was a bonus ). For skiing, the property is easily walkable to the main telecabines at le Lay and the route is straightforward for drop offs / pickups , or taking the bus, if either of those are the preferred route . The accommodation was perfect for our extended family get together, with a large open plan living dining area and multiple options for bedrooms. Huge storage in the basement / garage for kit . Bob was a great host, really helpful prior to our trip and a pleasure to meet upon arrival .

Brilliant chalet for group of family and friends
Great all around, the chalet is lovely and provided a good amount of space for 14 of us to relax together in the evenings. Bob was super helpful before and during our trip, always responded quickly and making sure that we had settled in ok. Pleasure to meet the family and looking forward to staying again one year!

Les Contamines Stay
Perfect base to explore the area. Loved the chalet. Perfect balance between charm and all modern facilities.
Bob was really helpful in suggesting places to eat out and explore the area. Les Contamines-Montjoie is a real hidden gem. We will be returning.

Wonderful Chalet and Incredible Area!
We somewhat randomly decided on this area based on our interests (skiing, charming villages, proximity to Geneva, Mt. Blanc, etc) and couldn't have been happier. While we were only a small family of 4 (originally there were going to be 10 of us), we had room to spare and thoroughly fell in love with Les Contamines-Montjoie and the surrounding area. The chalet is completely comfortable and the charming owner and his family couldn't have been any more helpful. The chalet and town is perfect for families or groups of friends looking to spend quality time together with a huge range of outdoor activities as well as dinning and sightseeing options. During our 7 night visit we spent a couple of days relaxing and familiarizing ourselves with Les Contamines/St. Gervais including grocery shopping, picking up ski equipment, 1 day in the Aosta Valley (Courmayeur), 1 day in Chamonix and Mt. Blanc, 2 days skiing Les Contamines-Montjoie which was amazing even though we didn't get any new snow during our visit and 1 day in Annecy. Nothing was more than 90 minutes away. Wish we had at least 2-3 more days and could easily have spent another week. I'd have given it 6 stars if I could and we would definitely like to return some day if possible. Thank you Bob for sharing your beautiful chalet with us and providing suggestions for restaurants, ski guides and all of the helpful local information which was spot on.

Loved the place
I visited the chalet as part of a group of 14, including 3 children. The chalet was perfect, had everything we needed, was clean and tidy and the area was superb. Les contaminés is a great little town and the ski area was great for a week.
Big thanks to bob the owner for his texts during the week to make sure everything was fine and answering all of my questions immediately.

Amazing place! Highly recommend.
We had an amazing few days here in this lovely chalet. The communication from Bob start to finish was just excellent and he was extremely helpful sending through snow updates and answered any questions quickly. The property was beautifully presented with everything we needed and comfortable fitted all 9 of us. The wine on arrival was a nice touch! There was loads of room and the snug downstairs worked a treat for the kids and us. They would watch a move while we had wine and cheese around the lovely big table upstairs. We had family visiting from New Zealand so we wanted it to be perfect and it was. We flew to Geneva and used Alpybus to get to the Chalet which worked really well. My Dad (74)was with us and he was able to walk down and get the bus and on the odd occasion walked to the lift which was about 15 minutes. We hired the ski gear from the Intersport that Bob recommended and they were very friendly and allowed us to keep our gear there so we did not need to carry it back each day which worked well. The Restaurant at the bottom of the hill (50m away) was excellent. We did takeaway pizza one night and ate in the second night. The staff were super friendly and very accommodating. The skiing itself was just excellent and no crowds! I don't think we waited for a lift the whole time we were there and the slopes were very well looked after. We had kids aged 7 & 10 and the slopes were perfect for them and the adults. The fun park was great and we loved the "Coins" run. One night we walked into the main village and had a great meal at one of the many restaurants over there which was great. I have visited a number of resorts through Europe and this is defiantly a favourite. I could not recommend this Chalet and resort enough and I certainly will return. Thanks Bob for all your help and making it such a memorable holiday for the Kiwi family.

Wonderful chalet, fantastic location
I highly recommend this property. We stayed as two families and grandparents. The house was split perfectly with 4 bedrooms downstairs including a newly created snug area with comfy settee and flat screen tv. This provided a useful area for the teenagers to go away from the main lounge. The other half of the family occupied the two bedrooms upstairs.
The house is well equipped with plenty of plates and cutlery; large fridge, plenty of oven space and a dishwasher. Lots of space and very bright. Was perfect for us with elderly parents who were able to walk to the lovely town. The skiers amongst us were happy as the ski lifts were very close.
The communication I had with Bob before, and during our stay was fantastic. He responded immediately to any questions we had and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this lovely house.

Fabulous venue for Ski Holiday with two families
We were two families with children 9,12,14,16 and 5 adults staying at the Mountain House.
We chose Contamines partly due to the short transfer time from Geneva airport.
We all had a fabulous time: the property was spacious enough for everyone to spread out and have privacy but also to come together in the lovely central space for meals and evening games.
The house is very well appointed with everything you need (hairdryers, washing machine, tumble dryers, ski boot dryer) but also some nice touches you didn't know you needed (bluetooth speakers in the bedrooms, a great sounding hi-fi in the main area, a HiDef Smart TV , coffee maker and lovely throws on the beds).
We used Thierry's Intersport Ski Rental in the Village on Bob's recommendation and got really helpful service and were also delighted with the recommendations on ski instruction we got too - the kids really liked their instructor and made good progress.
We had one day of poor weather but everyone was more than happy to chill out in the property and really relax.
The supermarket at the foot of the slopes had everything we needed and we enjoyed eating out at the friendly restaurant just 25 metres from the property.
Definitely our favourite ski accommodation. Thank you Bob!

Fantastic Chalet: Clean, big, full of character
We were a group of twelve staying for one week in this superb chalet! When we arrived, we found it to be very clean and ready to go. This place immediately impressed everyone with its spaciousness and character. It feels the way a chalet should with lots of wood and a vaulted ceiling in the dining room/lounge area. A nice touch was the wine on arrival, a great way to welcome a new group. We noted that the accommodation looked exactly how it had been presented in the photos on the website. The description was very accurate. My favourite piece of furniture was the massive wooden dining room table that accommodates a group of 14. After dinner the lounge area was super comfortable with big sofas and a big screen TV. The kitchen is a nice size and has room enough for a table that sits six or seven comfortably. The appliances are all newer and function well. It was a fun place to cook a meal with others. There is ample tableware and we never felt short of mugs or glasses, plates or bowls. We really liked the fact that tea, coffee, herbs, and spices were all on hand at the chalet, which made things that much easier and felt very friendly. The bedrooms were all clean and comfortable with great linen! I had slept great with the comfy pillow and duvet. There were easily enough bathrooms for all of us and, as with the kitchen, the extra added touch of toiletries being provided was very convenient and thoughtful. The ski resort and lifts are a short fifteen minute walk down the road and, if we timed it right, we could catch a free ride on a ski bus coming from the center of town. The skiing itself was excellent and is rarely crowded like some of the bigger places in the Alps. At times we felt like we had the upper slopes all to ourselves. The owner of the property was friendly, reliable and a good communicator. I would enthusiastically recommend this place to friends and family, no hesitation. For those that don’t ski, I imagine this would be a fantastic place to be in the summer months in the mountains.

Another great stay at the Mountain House
This was my second time at the Mountain House and I'll certainly be back again! The chalet is beautifully furnished, really well equipped and in a great location. Les Contamines is a lovely resort, not too busy and there was plenty of snow!

Amazing chalet and in a superb location too!!
As a mixed group of family and friends Bob's chalet was ideal. Bob catered for all of our needs and made our holiday a wonderful success. It was great to be greeted in person on arrival at the chalet too. The chalet is spacious and very well equipped for a large group (the garage and boiler room are superb for 14 sets of skis and wet gear)! The location was ideal, a short walk from the lovely village of Les Contamines and a manageable walk to the slopes (although I would advise the free bus service if you are carrying all your equipment)! Bob is very knowledgeable about the local area and both the taxi service and ski instructor he recommended were second to none! I would highly recommend a stay here! Thank you!

Arredamento curato in tutti i particolari.

Stunning Summer Chalet
Our extended family had a fantastic time in Bob's chalet this summer - Contamines is a brilliant playground for the family and the chalet was the perfect comfortable and roomy base for hiking, cycling, swimming - the parc de loisirs is amazing - and visits - the lake at Passy is a must. Spectacular location and the chalet has everything we needed including a top BBQ and huge garage for storing bikes and gear. Bob was super helpful with the booking. Can't fault it, we'll be back!

'Lovely summer Chalet'
5 Sterne! Lokale Restaurants, Supermarket und Shops ein paar Minuten entfernt.
Alles war perfekt.

"Magnifico in ogni modo!"
