Such a gorgeous view of the Great Wall, the mountains, and the foliage. Woke up to breathtaking views. Very helpful and friendly staff. Very delicious restaurant at the hotel. I ate there both nights.
Only difficult thing was there are a lot of bugs up in the mountains in October and they kept sneaking into the room when we opened the door. So, just make sure to close the doors quickly if you go in the fall.

The view from the property is really great and there are cool viewing platforms near the restaurant and coffee shop.
The drive up the steep hill is not easy and you cannot walk up and down it without great effort. Some Didi drivers refused to go up all the way. Also, know your prices because the staff tried to price gouge me and charge 100 yuan for 10 small bottles of water and 100 yuan for a 30 yuan Didi ride.

Loved the location and the view of the Great Wall.

The view is wonderful, the room spacious with a great terrace. However it looks like the staff is running the hotel by themselves without a professional management team. Also you need a car because the hotel is on the top of a hill. We still had a nice time but it is too expensive for what it is. The staff was very friendly & kind.

Very nice place with a very good view of the great wall, the room is very spacey and well equipped, a good place to have a "city d-tox" with good privacy
The staff was very helpful but cannot speak English so that complicated things slightly when some support was needed and there is no room cleaning during the stay

- friendly and helpful local staff and receptionists.
- a breathtaking view.
- balcony surrounded with greenery.
- pet friendly room.
- room interior design.
- no hot shower.
- the room is cold (no central heating).

Great location, right beside Mutianyu.
Room was very, very moldy. Bed clothes and towels smelt of mold, also all the windows didn't open so it was impossible to move the smell of mold. They at first refused to move us saying that we needed to pay more. They also said that the mold was due to the weather, but the truth is the room just should not have been up for rent. After quite a lot of back and forth we got moved to different room and left a day early.
The communication between the staff was very poor, they didn't seem to communicate at all which added to the stress of the situation.
Breakfast is cheap, but there isn't much options.

- Location on the mountain is nice - we got bad luck with pollution & limited visibility, but if you get clear sky day - view from this place will be great.
- fun road to the hotel - very steep; make sure you go there with car; I’d not want to walk that with luggage
- interior of the room was quite modern looking & nice + clean; even though lacked some basic maintenance
- restaurant is good (Chinese local oily & salty food, but good)…if you’re in location longer, you’ll probably want to run away for some foreign food (+ expensive beer, get some in convenience stores along the road)
- Reception area looks not maintained & generally ugly compared to the rooms
- rooms have plenty of small-ish stuff which are in need of repairs (broken window, lights not holding properly)
- dirty windows in the room
- staff is mixed story - feeling wise like village home stay - will all good and bad it comes with. People are smiling, trying to help - but chaotic, not talking to each other, noisy,..).
- overall place would benefit from some professional touch/management - it has a big potential to be a luxury place, but at this point it’s a luxury wannabe … still worth to stay for the view though.

Staffs are very friendly and helpful.
Hotel is on the hill where is too steep to walk up and down.

Everything was perfect!
The room is great and clean. The view is amazing.
Although the staff doesn't speak English, they tried their best trying to communicate - they were very loving and helpful.
It wasn't a problem for us, but be prepared for a 10 minutes walking up towards the hotel.
I didn't try any food from the restaurant, but I believe that it might be overpriced

It was beautiful and the staff were very helpful. Not the best place for someone with bad knees though as there is a lot of steep walking and some stairs.

Home of the great wall is basically just opposite the entrance to the Mutianyu Great Wall. It is in walking distance, however there are steep ways up into the mountains. If you enter the gate, just keep driving up until you reach the first guesthouses (after 2-3 turns). Be prepared that there is hardly anyone who speaks English, however the staff, in particular Jason, translates everything in his app and helps you get around (he takes you also to the entrance of the great wall). Very friendly staff! From the price perspective, you would expect some more 5 star feeling, but the bungalows with the terrace built into the mountains give you a great feeling of nature and you feel far away from the crowd. Modern style bungalows (they also have regular rooms), however a hard matrace and the shower is just next to the toilet. The restaurant with its red and white tablecloth serves great food (take the fried trout) and offers a great view over the mountains from the terrace.
Matrace is hard, shower not convenient, but they have a nice bath tub. I am not sure how the room might be in colder seasons.
