About this villa rental

Jayne and Andrew welcome you to their detached villa on the outskirts of Les Mathes.

The villa is perfectly located for your holiday in the Charente Maritime. We are 900m from Les Mathes centre with it's boulangerie, bar, market, and SPAR supermarket and 10 minutes (6km) from the lovely seaside resort of La Palmyre with it's wide variety of bars and shops. Large supermarkets are also just 10 minutes away in Arvert and La Tremblade.

The coast here offers miles and miles of sandy beaches, forest trails and activities for all members of the family. For children of all ages, July and August sees the opening of the seasonal fair 'Luna Park' which is a simple 8 minute drive away.

The large seaside resort of Royan is 11 miles away with La Rochelle airport 48 miles away, just over an hour dependent upon traffic.

The villa rests at the end of our private driveway and is almost hidden from the quiet road - hence the name Villa Cachée which means 'Hidden Villa'. This is our retreat in France and accordingly our guests will find everything they need for a relaxing family holiday - because that's what we want from our holiday home.

We have 4 bedrooms. A family room with a double bed and bunk beds, and 3 doubles. All the double beds have comfortable pocket sprung mattresses and there is a large wardrobe in each bedroom. The family room benefits from French windows that open directly onto the patio. The family rooms is fully self contained with it's own ensuite shower room. and tea making facilities.

The accommodation also has 2 fully equipped modern shower rooms besides the en-suite in the family room.

The large 32m2 open plan living area incorporates a fully equipped kitchen (oven, hob, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge / freezer, microwave) dining area with table and 8 chairs, and sitting area with 2 large 4-seater sofas.

We have a 43" LCD TV with satellite receiver (All non-premium UK and French channels). In addition we have a playstation games console. The TV also has a soundbar attached that offers Bluetooth connection to your mobile phones so you can play your own music.

The villa also benefits from free WIFI (Router located in living area).

We have electric fans for each room and electric heating for those visiting the villa during the cooler months.

Outside we have secure parking for at least 3 cars, a large tiled patio area for alfresco dining. The patio extends around the swimming pool and we have 10 sun loungers around the pool. The private, 8m x 4m, pool is heated and is available from 1st of May to the end of September. It has a level floor approx. 1250mm deep making it ideal for playing games.

Bed linen and towels can be provided at an additional cost via the agency that looks after the villa for us.

Post stay cleaning is now included in the cost of rental.

The minimum rental period during peak periods is a week, off peak we can be more flexible.

We had a lovely stay in this very well equipped villa. Although relatively compact inside, the outside garden and pool area more than make up for it. As the property has few neighbours and is on the edge of a wood, peace and calm are guaranteed, yet the villa is still close enough to all amenities. The owners and housekeepers was helpful and friendly, so overall a wonderful holiday.

Had a lovely week here where it is easy to get to all the local attractions. The house was wonderful for 2 families and would have easily took two more people. The children loved the recently finished pool. Highly recommend it.

Accueil parfait. Très agréablement surpris, à la campagne, loin des agitations de la côte, la propriété venait de subir des travaux d'amélioration. Piscine refaite entièrement, magnifique, bien entretenue de plus elle est chauffée. En ce qui concerne l'intérieur de la villa, parfait, propre, les literies sont confortables ( pas toutes testées, nous n'étions que deux). Je ne peux que recommander ce bien. Au plaisir d'y retourner ultérieurement.

Nous avons apprécié notre séjour, surtout la piscine chauffée, mais nous avons été déçus par la maison. Une partie de la maison est un mobil home (2 des 3 chambres). l’ensemble de la maison n’est pas très récent et bien que tout s’y trouve (côté équipement) l’ensemble n’était pas très bien entretenu: murs avec des traces, petits insectes dans la maison qui sont bien installés, odeur d’égout dans l’une des salles de bains... et le ménage pas très bien fait à notre arrivée mais cela s’est Tout de suite arrangé grâce aux gérants qui ont su y remédier.

Propriété mediocre prevue pour 8personnes en réalité pour être à l’aise il faut être 4 personnes. Chambres trop petites salle d’eau également. Piscine très bruyante CELINE ET THIERRY SONT TRÈS EFFICACES Et très sympathiques.

A 4, nous avons passé un agréable séjour au calme. Utilisation de la piscine sur cette fin de saison limitée à cause du temps frais et pluvieux, mais bien agréable lors d'un peu de soleil. Voiture nécessaire pour se déplacer aux environs.

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans la Villa cachée. Nous avons profité de la piscine, et d'un extérieur très agréable et cosy le soir. Bien placée, ce qui permet de visiter la région facilement, La Palmyre et son zoo, la Tremblade, Mornac sur Seudre... Ne pas hésiter à réserver ! Tout est dis dans le titre, la location est idéale et est très bien situé. Andrew répond très rapidement par mail aux divers demandes. La maison est très confortable, la piscine, le ping-pong permette d’agrémenter les petits temps morts. Le soir des illuminations s’allument sur la terrasse c’est très agréable. Super séjour

Nous avons passé de bonnes vacances au calme et avons pu visiter la région qui est riche en petits villages, très belles plages, et pistes cyclables. Nous avons profité du barbecue pour les grillades et poissons du coin. Un grand merci aussi pour la piscine qu’on a apprécié !

Wir haben im Ferienhaus mit 4 Erwachsenen und 2 Kindern (5 Jahre) einen sehr schönen Urlaub verbracht. Wir waren fast die gesamte Zeit draußen im Pool oder am großzügigen Terrassenbereich. Zum Pool führen von einer Seite zwei Stufen, so dass auch kleine Kinder nicht so einfach hineinfallen können bzw. hätte der Pool auch mit einer Plane abgedeckt werden können. Viel Poolspielzeug und andere Spielsachen (Eimer, Schaufeln) für Kinder sind vorhanden. Auch die Tischtennis-Platte kann genutzt werden! In der direkten Umgebung gibt es Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, verschiedene Strandabschnitte und andere touristische Aktivitäten (Minigolf, Quod, Zoo etc.) sind mit dem Auto in 5-10 Minuten zu erreichen. Wir können einen Aufenthalt in der Villa Cache nur empfehlen!

The owners obviously care for the property which is well maintained and stocked with essential equipment. A swimming pool heated to the end of September is an added bonus and there is plenty of outside space for maximum enjoyment of the plentiful sunshine in the Charente Maritime

This was our second holiday in Les Mathes and we enjoyed it even more than the previous year - we now know the area really well. The Villa was set in a quiet country lane and positioned well back from the road. We found the accommodation really clean, tastefully decorated and well supplied for all our needs. The outside area was also well equipped with ample patio furniture and toys for the pool. This was used every day without fail and even kept its heat during some chilly nights! We felt very safe and at home here and would gladly return to Villa Cachee and without doubt would recommend the Les Mathes area to families. Thank you Andrew, Jayne and Thierry for all that youve done to make this the perfect holiday for us.

The villa had everthing we needed to have a wonderful and relaxing holiday. The privacy is perfect. Close enough to the bike route to get on safely and close to all the amenties you could need. Lots of fans and parasols provided to give you the shade when needed. The property kept nice and cool if you used the shutters which was perfect. The only problem we had is that both my husband and son are over 6 foot tall (around 6ft 4 inches) and the beds with footboards meant that diagonal sleeping was necessary :) The local contact was very pleasant and helpful too. Overall a wonderful relaxing family holiday.

We stayed here during one of the hottest periods I have experienced in this area. The Villa was excellent although very little time was actually spent in it. Nice TV for all the World Cup Matches. The pool was an absolute blessing in the hot weather and our grandchildren have developed fins! Good location with everything accessible by bikes if you have them or by a car. There are superb cycle paths throughout the area. Excellent restaurants throughout the area especially if you venture away from the hot spots occasionally. An all round excellent holiday with something for all ages, many good memories have been made!

Lovely peaceful and private villa

We enjoyed a great 2 weeks at the Villa Cachee at the end of July. We love this area of France, normally staying in a mobile home but this time we were looking for extra space and privacy still close enough to all the attractions we enjoy. We are pleased to say that this villa gave us everything we hoped for; private pool big enough for plenty of fun, sunny private decking area, comfortable beds, hot showers, modern kitchen, room to relax on the sofas and a great base to access all the area has to offer. We took our bikes and found it easy to connect to all the wonderful cycle routes in the area and it was great cycling to the bakers in town with the kids most mornings. The most beautiful beaches are only a short distance away in the car, we particularly like the Cote Sauvage. The owner's representative is a very friendly and welcoming man who speaks good English. He came once a week to clean the pool and check we were all OK, but made it clear he was only a phone call away if needed. We had a wonderful stay and would happily return to the Villa Cachee in the future. Thank you to the owners Andrew and Jayne for your communication throughout.
