About this cottage rental
*Currently we are taking extra measures to follow guidelines given by the EPA for both cleaning and sanitizing the cottage. We have gotten great reviews for cleanliness on our partner booking platforms, but want to ensure our guests that we have adjusted our cleaning procedures, which includes water-soluble cleaners and then using chemical cleaners and sanitizers on an approved list provided by the EPA for sanitation. We include anti-bacterial soaps and alcohol hand sanitizer for guest use. Located on city bus line: 1 mile from Highway 101, and 2.5 miles from downtown Port Angeles where you will find unique shopping, restaurants, waterfront, and the ferry to Victoria Canada. William R. Fairchild International Airport 1 mile away. Twelve miles east of Lake Crescent Olympic National Park includes access to swimming, boating, and water sports. Fifteen miles west of Hurricane Ridge Olympic National Park. Local wineries located 1 to 2 miles west. Sol Duc Hot Springs is 34-mile drive from the cottage.
Captain's Cottage is a sanctuary getaway in a quiet neighborhood. It was recently renovated in 2018. New comfy queen-size bed and bedding, and new furnishings. New full-size memory foam pull-out and twin size memory foam cot totaling 3 beds throughout cottage (queen in bedroom and full size and cot pullout in the living room). Beautiful wainscote pine paneling throughout the cottage. Private patio with wood-burning chiminea (wood provided). Small enclosed yard. Roku TV, 55” flat-screen Smart TV, and high-speed internet. Keyless entry. Cottage located in a nice residential neighborhood.
*Coffee, tea, juice, oatmeal, fresh fruits provided seasonally
*Stocked kitchen for preparing meals (basic pantry supplies with cooking and baking utensils)

We used this location for day trips to various points in Olympic National park and it was perfect for that. This property was very clean inside. Nice options for climate control (heat, fans, etc). Kitchen is spartan but usable. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom nicely appointed and has a heat fan! Requested an early check in and host graciously accommodated.
Cons - communication lacking after we arrived (Keurig was broken- thankfully we had other coffee options with us!)…host responded after about 36 hours offering to bring a new one. The grill and grill tools were so dirty, I would not have used them. The backyard (appears this is owned by the neighbor) - visible from bedroom window is filled with all kinds of things…a tent with a tarp over it, a rabbit hutch (?), bikes strewn about the yard. Closing the shade took care of this, but it was a bit disconcerting.

Clean property. Everything was in working order and instructions were clear. All of our destinations were a drive but it was petty easy to get around. Some things were not to my taste but don’t affect the overall quality or functionality of the property. This was a good place to stay in Port Angeles.

We stayed one quick night here on our way to exploring different parts of Olympic National Park. It was clean, comfy, and had plenty of space for my 8 yo and me. Even though we didn't have time to take advantage of them, we did appreciate the little space in the front to hang out and the selection of movies in the living room.

This property was exactly as described, clean, quiet, and comfortable. We were in the area for an event so we didnt spend much time in the space other than to sleep. This cottage provided everything we needed to refresh after full days of activities.

We were very comfortable throughout our stay at the Captain’s Cottage! Comfortable bed, great water pressure, clean and spacious! We stayed busy exploring all that the area had to offer and enjoyed the proximity to many areas of Olympic National Park. We also enjoyed the recommendation for Barhop Brewery with some great water views.

Very cute, clean and nicely fitted out to be a home base for our adventures in Olympic National Park. Easy access to Port Angeles sights and restaurants, plus the Hurricane Ridge section of the park. The beds were comfy, including the pull out couch that our tween used all week. He also appreciated the wifi and smart TV. We would definitely stay again!

Our family (2 adults, 2 kids under 3) spent a night at the cottage as we travelled about the Olympic Peninsula. Location was great being relatively close to the highway and downtown Port Angeles. Cottage was clean and it was great that the hosts had a pack-n-play already set up for us! Easy check-in and out. Enjoyed the location and what we needed for the night.

This was the perfect home base to start and end our days filled with exploring Olympic National Park! It was within 5-10 minutes of great restaurants, shops and gas stations. It was cozy and the perfect space for my fiancé and I. We love to come back to Olympic National Park and would definitely stay at the cottage again!

The cottage was exactly as described. Perfect place to stay over during our two day trip into Olympia NP. The only minor issue was the keuric coffee maker, found out I had to set at 10 oz to get coffee otherwise other settings would just give you clear water. The host was made aware of it. Still gave a 5 star rating

This cottage is exactly as described and pictured. It was so comfortable and clean! Check-in was easy. The location near Hurricane Ridge and Lake Crescent worked great for our adventures. This cottage is located in a more residential area and is not walkable to eating establishments but a short drive away. I would recommend staying here!

Our church has a yearly camp outing on this weekend each year. The outing is held at salt creek campground. We are not campers but wanted to participate so we chose a Verbo in Port Angeles. We’re glad we did so we could participate with our church and had only had about an 11 mile drive each way.

Very nice and cute little vacation rental in Port Angeles. Perfect to stay at before an early morning drive to Hurricane Hill, had all necessary amenities for a night's stay and for even longer, and located very close to downtown and the harbor. Highly recommended!

We loved our stay in the Captain's Cottage! So spacious and charming - you could spend hours looking at the details and decorations. The beds are comfy - we didn't want to get up! The owners have thought of every amenity, including a beverage table that was so appreciated! Thank you so much for your kindness! We spent two days on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula and were so happy to have found this delightful rental. Within minutes of restaurants, the Wharf, grocery store, etc. Would definitely recommend and we'd love to come back again!

This isn’t a fancy cottage, but very clean and has the basics.
My sole complaint is the owners’ noisy dogs. They have 2 dogs that bark incessantly if they are outside. One sat outside the bedroom window and barked for a really long time while we were trying to sleep.
My only two suggestions that would have made our stay better (other than the dogs being quiet):
1. Check in instructions/directions to unit are confusing. Would have been much easier to just have the address to use navigation.
2. There were only 3 small wine glasses to use. No regular drinking glasses. If you want a tall glass of water, you are out of luck. And if there are more than 3 people, you have to take turns and wash dishes between people using a drinking glass. Same with silverware—only 4 each spoons, forks, etc. I have never stayed in a rental that was so short on glasses & silverware. Usually those items are abundant.

This was such a cute place that fit my family of 4 perfectly. We stayed the night before and the night after backpacking in Olympic. Super clean and really nice owners that you can tell put a lot of thought in putting this place together. Would highly recommend this place.

The Hosts were great and very friendly. The cabin was very clean. This cabin is next to their house. There is no AC, but the 75 degree temps we experienced were not a problem. They do have two fans to help move the air. They have several dogs that like to bark, but they were inside most of the time we were there. If you want to watch Fox, I added it to the Roku stream since it is not on their main cable lineup.

The house was cute and clean and had everything we needed for a short stay. We visited the peninsula from Seattle for only one night and had lots of activities planned, so didn't spend much time in the house but check-in and out was very convenient and we found everything we needed for our night there. A cot in the living room was set up already for the 3rd person which was nice as I was expecting to have to set up the sofa bed on arrival. No issues and the neighborhood was very cute for a morning walk.

We stayed here for three nights to hike in ONP. The location worked well for that (though there’s not much else in the surrounding area). The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with tea, coffee, and even some biscotti for our arrival. Check in and check out were easy. Everything was clean and as-described in the listing. We had a great time and would definitely stay again on another ONP trip.

The whole experience was pretty awesome. Kids loved the various game options. We all loved putting needle on the world map for her city, it was a cool idea and amazed to know people from all over the world has stayed at the property. The pike place coffee and the various spices in the kitchen helped in cooking food to satisfy our appetite. It was also very close to Crescent East Beach and Hurricane Ridge. Jake was a great host and was always available for any questions. Overall it is a 5 star experience.

This little cottage was everything we could ask for. It was very clean, well stocked with coffee and tea, and very convenient for a base for exploring Olympic. My husband loved the cute nautical decorations. I loved having a full kitchen. I'd 100% stay there again.
