The apt. is on two levels, it has 4 bedrooms (1 master double, 1 twin, 2 singles) 6 beds. 3 of the rooms with own balcony. Small fully-equipped kitchenette with DW, microwave,cosy sitting-room with balcony overlooking a spacious, beautiful terrace with incomparable view on the mountains. The apt. has 2 bathrooms shower, 2 independent parking-lots, TV LCD in the main rooms. 'Ciasa toa' is located at approx. 1 mile from the centre of Cortina d'Ampezzo which is easily reached with a pleasant 15-minutes walk. For non-walkers bus-stop to village centre at 50 mts , three excellent restaurants nearby and - at approx. 300 mts - a fully-equipped play-ground for children. To the north-east , at about 2.5 miles on the main road to Tre Croci Pass, are the two distinguished ski areas of the Faloria and Cristallo.

Prettig om van te voren gebeld te worden. Huis is in orde. Wel naast een beek met werkzaamheden, gaf overdag veel lawaai. Terras is heerlijk. Helaas ging afwasmachine stuk en dat heeft even geduurd. Goeie bedden en keuken

Bellissima casa con tanto spazio, confort e servizi
Abbiamo passato una splendida settimana con la nostra numerosa truppa di ragazzi ed i due amici quattro zampe. La casa è spaziosa, ben curata, con tutti i servizi e ci ha permesso di vivere una settimana tra trekking e passeggiate nella splendida cornice di Cortina. Il paesaggio al tramonto sulle Tofane, Cinque Torri e Croda da Lago è incantevole. La gentilezza della proprietaria ha poi fatto il resto. Un ottimo soggiorno che replicheremo senz'altro se dovessimo tornare nell'Ampezzano in estate. Michele

- Zahlungsbestätigung kam erst kurz vor dem Urlaub und nicht direkt nach Zahlungseingang (ca. Halbes Jahr vorher)

Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt in dieser gemütlichen, sauberen und ordentlichen Ferienwohnung inmitten der hohen Berge mit tollem Blick von der schönen Terasse. Die netten Gastgeber hatten einfach an alles gedacht ( in Küche, Bad usw.) mit vielen liebevollen Extras wie Obstkorb und Essen, weil wir erst in der Nacht ankamen....
Das Ferienhaus liegt etwas oberhalb von Cortina d Àmpezzo und ist idealer Ausgangspunkt für Touren wie die "3 Zinnen", "Lago di Sorapis", "Cinque Torri", Pragser See u.a. Ausflüge im Hochgebirge. Wir waren jeden Tag unterwegs und hatten hier einen wunderschönen, sonnigen Urlaub. Da man von hier aus mit dem Auto nur 2 Stunden bis Venedig fährt, verbrachten wir auch einen Tag in Venedig.
Wir waren 6 Personen und hatten ausreichend Platz.

Parfait
L'appartement est parfait et 100% conforme au descriptif et très confortable. Il ne manque absolument rien. Il y a même les cartes pour les randonnées. Nous avons été vraiment très bien accueillis par les propriétaires qui sont très sympathiques et bienveillants.
Cortina d'Ampezzo est un très bon emplacement pour randonner dans les Dolomites. L'appartement est à l'écart du centre ville, dans un hameau tranquille.
Juste un petit conseil: mieux vaut éviter de faire ses courses à Cortina le samedi après-midi. C'est quasiment impossible de se garer. Mieux vaut attendre un jour si possible.

Abseits des Trubels und doch dabei
Wer das Besondere mag - jenseits industriellen Skifahrens - und somit tolle Pisten, ein kleines Städtchen und Ruhe (den Bach nebenan haben wir mitnichten als Lärmquelle wahrgenommen) vereinen möchte, dem sei das charmante und wirklich gut ausgestattete Appartement mit einer super Terrasse oberhalb Cortinas auf dessen Sonnenseite empfohlen.
Sehr zuvorkommende Gastgeber direkt vor Ort: Eine ausgesprochen gute Wahl!

Beautiful location in stunning Cortina
Vitorria and Carla were warm and welcoming hosts. This alpine home has every comfort to make your stay exceptional; from a comfortable sitting and eating area to a well equipped kitchen (complete with a bottle of wine for our stay as well as snacks and fruit!) and comfortable bedrooms with cozy blankets. While the weather was somewhat cloudy (great for hiking), we did not have much of an opportunity to enjoy the deck, however, it is spacious and a great place to sit and enjoy the scenery.
I thoroughly enjoyed the sound of the river just outside the back window.
We would recommend this location to anyone who enjoys the outdoors, beautiful scenery, a lovely place to return to in the evening and hosts who are welcoming and appreciate the guests who stay with them!
Our only regret was that our stay was too short!

A perfect week in Cortina!
Vittoria and Walter are great hosts (thank you for the delicious snacks and wine!), and everything about this property was wonderful and perfect for my family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers to enjoy an amazing week skiing around Cortina. The apartment is cozy and and comfortable, and with a full kitchen and 4 bedrooms on 2 floors there is more than enough room. You step out in the morning to beautiful views of the mountains all around, and you are only minutes away from several lifts. There is a ski bus steps from the house and the downtown area is about 2 km away, so very walkable (though after a day of skiing you are happy to have a car or catch the bus!) We were all so sorry to leave after our week and cannot wait to return! Thank you so much, Vittoria and Walter!

Fantastic base for autumn walking holiday
We had good communications with the owners on arranging our weeks walking holiday in Cortina. This continued on arrival with a welcome basket of provisions { plus the biggest bottle of local red wine } and some time spent informing us of local walks and access to the mountains. The information on the booking website was spot on, the accommodation being a mile out of time with good views from the sun terrace across the valley and town. Inside the property it had four very clean and comfortable bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen for every kind of cooking and a cosy lounge diner. The town was accessible by bus from outside the property or a walk down the hill, the car was used for shopping trips. In October the town was busy enough to give us good shopping experience and in the evening a good choice of restaurants. Overall the holiday was a brilliant experience, I always wanted to visit the Dolomites and it was everything and beyond what I expected. The owners and people in the town were very friendly making us fell very welcome and most spoke English which helped a lot. All this made the complete holiday package 100% enjoyable and hopefully I'll make a return trip in the future.

FABULOUS ALPINE EXPERIENCE!
We had a wonderful holiday, the location of the apartment is perfect for many ski areas as well as the beautiful town (a few minutes by car or short bus ride with the bus stop close by). Stunning mountain views and quaint alpine feel all round. Clean, cosy and riverside charming. A fab restaurant is within a few mins walk and many others in the town. Prices for everything were very good not least the fab wines! Everyone we met was so friendly. The owners Walter, Carla and Vittoria were on hand with friendly helpful advice whenever needed from booking right through to leaving, they really go the extra mile, but totally respect your privacy. There was a lovely welcome hamper for us,much appreciated, and we were even treated to freshly baked bread every morning! The only 'down' that could possibly be for some was that there are no English TV channels (not surprisingly as in Italy!) so take other means with you if wanted (HTMI /laptop... etc).
We can not wait to return, thank you so very much for everything!

We have had an excellent stay in Cortina last week (6-persons). The appartment was nice and very clean, and in the kitchen was nearly everything we need.
It was also very practical if it's possible to use 2 bathrooms after a cycling day.
The owners are very kind and the service was 100%, we where very satisfied.

Apt for kids, cooks and sporty people
Facts: stayed there for a month, 3-5 people plus 10 month child.
Overall impression: very good, will stay there again if have a chance.
Description details: fully accurate, you will get what is offered. Apt located slightly off the town center (which is good IMHO). Expect a 15-17 min. walk to Cooperativa (main grocery store) and 25-27 min walk back, as the apt is uphill.
Apart from what is said you get a fully equipped kitchen with pressure cooker / electric kettle (very unusual for northern Italy apartments) / lots of additional bowls and other neat devices plus a baby highchair (travel cot is noted in description).
Personal comments:
Pros:
- personal touch and attention to your requests, thanks to all the family
- lots of provided stuff (tobacco maps, venice maps, linens, shower stuff, kitchen stuff) and included in price
Things to note:
- not so fast and reliable internet connection (skype audio is ok, video chatting can be a problem from time to time) and wireless (on par with other apartments in this area)
- terrace has wooden floor, pay attention to splinters in your and your kid' feet

Excellent stay in Casa Toa, Cortina!
We where 4, gentlemen (hopefully) who had an excellent stay in Ciasa Toa, Cortina.
We have nothing to complain about, from the first contact with Walter, to the last goodbye. Very nice people!
The Apartment is a cosy place with two floors. Well equipped with everything you should need. Dishwasher and washingmachine is a great tihing!
Vittoria, Carla and Walter supplied us with cleen bedsheets, towels, soaps, fruits an breakfast for the first day.
Cross country skiing was our main goal for the trip, and Walter helped us with waxing and skate-skiis. His knowledge and skiis helped us to go fast in the two day race Gran Fondo! Thank you Walter.
This is a place we can recommend to everyone. You will enjoy it for sure.
Hope to come back next year, we will definitely stay at Ciasa Toa.

Autumn break in Cortina
We (a family of five from Bergen, Norway) stayed in "Ciasa Toa" for one week in October 2012 during our 6-year old son's autumn school break. The emailing back and forth with Walter to settle different practicalities before arrival was efficient with quick and positive replies given in good English. We felt welcome even before we got there... After 14 hours of traveling with small kids it was very uplifting to come to this clean, cosy and well maintained house and receive a warm welcome by all three siblings Vittoria, Carla and Walter. They had generously provided some basic foods for us. There were a lot of information leaflets and maps available for us which helped planning some activities. The television set worked well with more than 10 channels, some with english speech. Dish-washer and washing machine worked well. Towels were plentiful and of good quality. We brought our one-year old son along, and he got his own baby bed complete with covers and fresh bed linen. Walter also provided a baby jogger, so the smallest one could sleep outside. After a long day, me and my 190 cm body slept well in a comfortable bed.
Walter provided us with a good quality 27 speed offroad bike, which we used every day for exercise and getting groceries. Next time I will ask Walter for a lock for the bike.
Very nice to have the owners living close by in case we had questions or something happened. We blew a fuse one night and were left in darkness, but Walter was just a few meters and a knock on the door away to help us out.
The Cortina area is superb for families with small kids. We visited Aqua Fun in San Candido. Me and the six year old rented Via Ferrata equipment at the K2 shop (established by the first man on K2). We hiked from Passo Giao to Rif. Nuvolau and up to the top of Averau. We visited the climbing park in Lienz and after some hours climbing high up in the trees we took a ride with the 2.7 km 350 m drop alpine coater, which was a fantastic experience. We walked around the Tre Cimes de Lavaredo. We took bike trips to Dobbiaco, to Passo Tre Croces and up to Passo Falzarego - little traffic and marvellous views.
We got more than we expected during our stay - we have never experienced to have enough toilet paper for five persons lasting for a whole week! Should we ever come back to Cortina, "Ciasa Toa" would be our first choice. And Walter: I will return the Tom Wolfe book before christmas, thanks for letting me borrow it!

Fantastic apartment in great location, although a car is essential.
Used as a base by 5 gentleman for walking / climbing holiday.
Location is in a quiet location at Alvera, up hill, outside Cortina centre by about 1 mile. Not walking distance if you've spent the day in the mountains.
River and waterfall is at side of apartment. The apartment is well double glazed, but there is some noise from the running water.
Apartment is well furnished and has some great personal touches. Loads of books and information. There was basic foods in the cupboards, washing up liquid / cleaning materials / shampoo etc. All towels and linen were provided. We made it home for a week and it had everything we needed. Very cosy. Heating was brilliant to dry wet clothes.
Complimentary wine from Walter and Vittoria was excellent and a great personal welcome. Their English was excellent and we found them very warm and welcoming. We are already looking at re-booking and this facility would be our first choice.
A big thank you to Walter and Vittoria for a brilliant stay.

A good stay
A delightful traditional Italian alpine apartment. Well equipped, warm and clean. We enjoyed the fresh bread delivered early each morning. The owners were very hospitable and helpful-with good English. The internet connection was a little intermittent. Highly recommended-we would stay again.
