About this house rental
The space
This home has it all: modern amenities, a quiet location, and proximity to all that Seattle has to offer.
The living areas are spread over two levels. When you enter the home, walk upstairs to the open concept living floor with a kitchen, dining room and living room. There is also a powder room located on this level. You will find 1 queen sleeper sofa and 1 queen size futons on this floor.
Continue to the top floor where you'll find three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The master bedroom with en-suite bathroom has a king bed. Another bedroom has a king bed. And the third bedroom has a twin over full bunkbed.
The home also has a full-size washer dryer, a one-car parking garage, and lots of storage space.
Guest access
Access to the home is provided without a cumbersome lock box or key exchange. Instead, you will choose a 4 digit code, and the electronic lock to the home will be programmed work your code for the duration of your stay.
You will have access to the entire home, including garage parking for one car (and plentiful free street parking for additional vehicles). The garage is attached, and from the garage you enter the home below the "entry level" noted above.
Interaction with guests
Your hosts, Andy and Lynne, live a few blocks away. Unless we are out of town, we are here to welcome you and help you with any of your needs during your stay. We are happy to offer you advice for sightseeing, restaurant recommendations, and even some budget saving tips and coupons.
Guests will receive, in advance, our comprehensive visitors' guide to Seattle, packed with our personal recommendations for dining, activities, and much more.
Do you plan to cook during your stay? By special advanced arrangement (depending on availability), we will fulfill your grocery list and have your home stocked for your arrival.
The neighborhood
The home is located between Capitol Hill and Madison Valley. We love walking the streets of this neighborhood, and we will gladly suggest fun walks depending on your interests. Stroll to the beach at Madison Park. Walk by multi-million dollar estates. Discover hidden neighborhood gems such as the farmhouse with horses in the yard and the home that doubles as an eclectic art studio and antique truck gallery. Take a walk through the fabled Arboretum to Lake Washington.
Once you have worked up your appetite, enjoy the countless restaurants that Capitol Hill and Madison Valley ("Little Paris") have to offer. In addition to French gems, try our favorite tapas restaurant or the best Japanese food east of Tokyo. Take your morning coffee in one of numerous bakeries. Or opt for Thai, pan-Asian, craft pizza, Tex-Mex or more.
Our home provides easy access to Downtown (Pikes Place Market, Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Great Wheel), Seattle Center (Space Needle, Chihuly Glass Museum), South Lake Union (MOHAI), University of Washington, and Capitol Hill. All are accessible by car, bus (numerous bus lines within a few blocks from home), or for the adventurous, by foot.
If all of this touring (and eating) has you tired, pamper yourself with a visit to a day spa or nail salon. There are several of each within a few blocks of home, and we are happy to point you in the right direction.
Getting around
We live a few short blocks from bus lines that will take you to Seattle's numerous neighborhoods (Madison Park, Capitol Hill, Downtown, Belltown, Seattle Center, South Lake Union). Queen Anne, Ballard, and Fremont are more easily accessed by car. Our home offers garage parking for one car. Street parking for additional cars is plentiful and free.

Our host, Lynne, was very helpful arranging for our stay and made thoughtful accommodations for our group. The location is perfect, right in Cap Hill, and the house was perfect for our 6 person overnight. Thanks, hosts!

Overall the condo was not well kept, moulding and floors were in need of repair. It was clean but worn out in some areas. The tube and shower in one bathroom did not work well (we could not shift the water from the tub to the shower) and the control on the water temperature was bad. The other shower worked well. It would have been nice to have somewhere to hang coats at the entry. Garage was too small for even a small car, but the driveway was OK.

Large house with a great location. We had a great time there. Playground was walking distance for the kids, etc. We were 5 adults and 5 kids and had plenty of room. We would go again.
The only area of improvement in my opinion would be the pre check-in process. There are lots of questions to answer, etc. Perhaps that's all due legal reasons, but while you are in transit, it's difficult to spend time filling forms, etc. Gave 5 stars to all categories except the check in process for this reason.
I recommend this place.

We stayed in this VRBO townhouse in Capitol Hill, Seattle for two nights. The location was great, with easy access to bars and restaurants, but we did notice some homelessness in the area.
The townhouse itself was quite minimal in terms of furnishings and style, but it provided ample space for our group of four friends. The living areas were spread over two levels, with an open concept living floor featuring a kitchen, dining room, and living room. There were three bedrooms and two full bathrooms on the top floor, offering comfortable sleeping arrangements.
Parking was convenient with a one-car garage, and the option for additional street parking. The electronic lock system made check-in hassle-free.
The hosts, Andy and Lynne, were responsive and lived nearby, ready to assist with any needs during our stay. They provided a comprehensive visitors' guide to Seattle, which was helpful for exploring the neighborhood.
Overall, this VRBO townhouse served as a functional base for our city adventures. Its proximity to the city's attractions and dining options made it a practical choice, though some may find the minimal style and nearby homelessness worth considering before booking.

Clean, easy access to Seattle via Capitol Hill neighborhood. Fantastic gathering of five old friends that have been getting together for over a decade. Great restaurants fairly close by.

We needed somewhere to stay very last minute near Swedish Hospital. We were lucky enough to find this great place! It is a 25 minute walk to the hospital or to downtown Seattle. Safeway and Trader Joe’s were only an 8 minute walk, so I was able to stock up on food easily. The kitchen was well-prepared and we had everything that we needed to make healthy meals. There was plenty of space and the beds were comfortable. We happened to be there during a heat wave (everyday was above 90 degrees) and there was no air conditioning, but that is pretty normal for Seattle. We were very hot at night, but multiple fans were supplied and it made it much more tolerable.
The hosts were extremely thorough with their information about everything,. Because we were last minute, I didn’t get a chance to read all of it and had to ask some questions and they were so nice and accommodating.
It seems that these hosts had thought of everything and it made our emergency medical trip so much easier. Thank you!

This property was very clean if sparsely furnished. The host was professional, friendly and quickly responded to questions. We enjoyed being close to the things we were interested in seeing and doing and there is a Safeway close by which was great as well.

The Good:
This townhouse is in a great, safe, location. No neighbor noise.
The Bad:
The pictures, as shown on VRBO, are not accurate. The place is appointed more like an inexpensive motel, than a well-loved home. There is zero character, no art whatsoever, nothing to make you feel cozy or at home. The kitchen is poorly stocked - not even a whisk to scramble eggs. The kitchen scissors are as sharp as a rock. Several light bulbs out. Everything in there is of poor quality. Pictures show different fridge, washer, etc. The master bed and bunks squeak (a lot) and the polyester summer blankets aren’t warm. There’s wasn’t a single extra blanket in the house! None of the bathroom outlets worked, so we couldn’t use a hairdryer or iron in front of a mirror. Wrong instructions for turning on the fire place. Took management 3.5 hours to respond to request for more blankets and fireplace assistance, by which time our restful Saturday morning was over. Pictures show “hospitality gifts” of which there were none. Water filter in fridge, though full, was expired and useless. There wasn’t even a pen for signing the guest book.
The Ugly:
There was a long black hair in my bed and the sheets seemed heavily worn. The master bathroom smells of urine near the toilet and the shower leaks onto the floor creating a huge puddle. Heavy, sloppy, caulking has been applied to no avail. This rental is one of many apparently managed by a company that told me they weren’t sure when they could send someone over to help because “it’s was Saturday!”
I have to wonder if previous reviews were left when someone else owned the place? For the cost per night, this was a disappointment. Renter be warned.

The place was very clean, which is a big deal in today’s world . The property managers were easy to work with and very responsive to questions/ issues. Would definitely consider staying here again!

I saw this Vrbo online and thought Ok a townhome—but omg it is really roomy with a cute backyard area. One room with bunk beds, another with a large queen and then the master. AND I believe both couches in living room become sofa beds. It is also super central—Safeway is just couple walking blocks away on 15th and then on 19th super cute coffee shop, mini organic hip grocery store, monsoon (love hip pan Asian food—check out their roof top dining!) and Hello Robin (home made hot cookies) all on 19th literally 5 min walk. It is a very quiet section of capital hill so if you are thinking this is a good party house, think again. By 9 pm, it’s lights out and everyone on all sides of the house are getting ready to wake up early for work/school/job/walk around greenlake. Downside: pricier then I wanted to spend for just my daughter and me—but I wanted central so firmed out the bucks; my small SUV didn’t fit into the super compact garage (but there was plenty of room to park in front of it on the property); the people across the street seemed to not care that their trash overflowed everyday (just pretend you are staying in NYC and it won’t bug you) and I wished that there was more art on the walls so it felt more homey (but it’s covid so probably better there aren’t more surfaces to clean), Overall, it’s clean and quiet snd super central which are the three things I needed. Happy stay!!
