The ambience is really nice. Breakfast is good.
The room had some insects and cobwebs.

The location
Paid for bungalow, and at my arrival, a 1bed small room, w no furniture, was given to me, and the worst was, being lied about it.
Was told that was the only room available, but was midnight still, and bungalows were being given to other people, arriving at that time.
Not fair at all...that wasn't fair, being treated like that.

Great location and authentic surroundings, nice breakfast atmosphere, great parking opportunities:-)
Not enough racks for drying towels, clothes etc. carpets could be cleaned better, also add more breakfast variety from day to day ;)

Very cool hotel with huge rooms. Gorgeous facility. Breakfast was fine. A bit far from some activities (furnas).

The room was clean and the building was beautiful.
The restaurant was not good and there was no close restaurant.
The breakfast table was empty at 9 o'clock.

the staff at the reception was super nice and helpful, the building is pretty
on the second night of the stay there was a loud party organized in the basement of the hotel, which is completely not understandable. like it wasn't a wedding or something where the people staying over would rent the space for a celebration but a party with posters open to people from outside, organized underneath the hotel rooms ... does the establishment want to be a hotel or a venue? does the management of the establishment have conflicting ideas ?

Very beautiful. Room is a good size, especially for the price. Breakfast included, but I didn't try it. Resident (outdoor) cat was a plus. Beautiful garden and location.
The beds were a bit firmer than I would like. Also if you open the cabinet under the sink to get to the trash can its really hard to avoid slamming it either into the other cabinet or when you close it.

The set-up has everything to be really nice, the little cottages and the gardens in between are so inviting. Breakfast was decent.
Unfortunately our cottage wasn’t very clean… the sheets were stained and not very fresh. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned properly. There was also a strong odour in the rooms which wouldn’t even fade with leaving the door and window open for an hour or two.

The place from the outside looks good. The pool can be nice I guess.
The bedroom was so noisy and humid.... The staff was not organised at all. The breakfast was not good at all: even the Coffee was disastrous

We stayed at Solar do Conde for our last two nights in Sao Miguel. When one first steps in the hotel compound, it really feels like an upscale resort. We had a bungalow with a bathroom, living room, kitchenette/dining area and a separate (but not by a door) bedroom. The unit was clean, nicely furnished and much larger than most European hotels in any category other than upscale/luxury. Kitchen was fully equipped for meal prep. They even provided a microwave oven when we asked for one. Fridge was under the counter, about third the size of a normal fridge but was adequate for a short stay. There was a towel warmer in the bathroom. Shower had glass panels and door, large rain shower head. Water pressure in the shower was AMAZING! Our only complaint is the quality of bed (really hard) and included breakfast (not a great variety & quality). However, given low price of only 71 euros/night We did not mind it. There is a very nice infinity pool with chaise loungers and nice beach towels. They even offered us welcome tea service with delicious jelly rolls/cake. Our unit #102 was directly above the reception, probably not the best location for privacy. Most other units had much better view & location either a balcony or a patio/backyard. Oh, parking is on site, a definite plus. Many private homes and hotels in area do not offer private parking. Street parking is really difficult in Sao Miguel because of very narrow streets. Overall, good value for money.

The building and the surroundings, however, are beautiful. The pool was OK.
Breakfast was terrible. The orange juice was concentrate... in a country where fruits are amazing and available...
Coffee was awful. The staff was enthusiastic but amateur, dinner was a huge confusion with lots of waiting.
Grilled limpets were overdone dry and chewy while the grilled fish was half raw served on the plate in a terrible manner and all this for a very high price. Generally speaking : seriously overpriced for the service.

Cheep gin and beer by the pool.
They have the property infected with COCKROACHES. Even the rooms and the restaurant / pool area. After we complained they promised said they clean but it was the same. Thankfully we left to continue our trip to gorgeous Azores elsewhere.

An absolutely fantastic stay. Such good value for money and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. We definitely would've extended our stay if we knew how great the place was.

The actual buildings are nice authentic - we just didnt stay in them.
We got a room that looked nothing like the pictures. Had expected traditional Azorean decor - got a bad ikea experience with
Breakfast was a joke.
Staff was busy with weddings.
Poolarea was used for wedding reception.

I love it. Bungalow fully equipped, lot of space, very private. Superb service - we got breakfast delivered to the room when needed to leave early in the morning. Yes, you need a car, but it is general rule in Sao Miguel.
Nothing to say.

I had a late arrival and Simao was generous, kind and very knowledgeable! I stayed in the Count’s Suite where there were beautiful antiques and the room was beautifully remodeled with a jacuzzi tub, shower, and beautiful views! I am beyond happy with my stay and would recommend this location for anyone looking to be away from Ponta Delgada’s hustle and yet be 20 minutes away from it! Good breakfast, check out at 12, Sunday brunch.
The only thing I could say was there was no electrical plug in the bathroom

Reception person who checked us in was very friendly
Couldn't find the place! The location from our booking was COMPLETELY WRONG a km and totally wrong street away! We only found it by accident just before we almost booked another hotel at the loss of our nonrefundable payment.... not good business!

Garden, Parking
Disappointed .. in the description was that the bungalow will have 4 single beds. reality two beds and an old very uncomfortable couch, we slept very badly. we really didn't mind that everything flashed and lit at night (fire sensor, escape exit, fire bell) disturbed sleep. There was no dishwashing sponge or towel in the kitchen, we had to wash the dishes by hand, we dont take dish spring for holidays. We wouldnt choose accommodation again

Spacious bungalows, that are serviced every day. They change towels, make bed and empty the trash. Beautiful and quite property with parking. Breakfast is basic but okay. Good heating because the bungalow is very cold.
Kitchen is not well equipped (e.g. no sponge or soap, nothing to make tea or coffee, just some pots). Breakfast is very basic (coffee and juice are very disappointing). Other guest walking past your windows, not so private.
