very close to Monet Garden, rambling gardens surrounding a traditional stone cottage. we stayed in the family “theatre” cottage, it had 2 bedrooms with a 3rd bed in the lounge room. Kitchen partially equiped, enough to reheat instant food.
wifi didn’t work, staff seemed decisive when we told him. Wall holder for shower was broken. maybe a little too “rustic”.

Nice setting, quirky accommodation. Good breakfast and attentive personnel.
(Not a problem for us, but probably need to highlight the ladder type stairs to the bedroom)

We visited in the off season for Monet attractions but wouldn’t have traded this stay for anything else! The owner’s hospitality was so refreshing and the cottages/surrounding area felt straight out of a storybook. We loved it!
Be aware of difficulties in getting a taxi to and from the train station in Vernon if visiting in the off season… but the walk is beautiful :)

Fresh croisants and baguettes delivered in the morning to our kitchen was wonderfull.

The lovely couple who runs this B&B went way beyond the call of duty to make our stay the best it could be. They were so kind and helpful.

Location , rustic and very french
7.0 / 10.0
Very authentic French. Lovely surroundings. My wife loved it. The breakfast was good - very good, delicious actually, bread delivered by the host. Great location. My review is influence by the fact that we stayed here in late September and it was cold, since the property wasn't heated. It would be nicer in summer, when you can use the property's lovely court and garden.
The wifi did not work on any of our 5 devices. The owner didn't do anything to resolve the issue and just said "welcome to France". It hadn't been a big deal had I not needed it for work, and my phone didn't fetch network.
The place was too cold for the latter part of September.

no door between the Beth room and the kitchen. not safety stairs. very poor breakfast.

Breakfast was fine and an excellent location
Everything was good
6.0 / 10.0
Great location. Very comfortable with good facilities / quite well equipped.
It wasn’t as private as we had expected ... great for first 3 nights but for the last day/night the room above us became occupied. The occupants shared the entrance way and courtyard. Also the owner was regularly in and out of the cottage/courtyard.
Our departure was delayed by 30 minutes in order to get extra cash in order to pay for some additional ‘taxes’ ... €28.
On leaving we felt like we might have been ripped off ...
I recommend that the listing on Booking.com is changed to reflect the ‘requirement’ for additional ‘taxes’ ... esp when our receipt gives the impression that everything had been paid for!
Basic breakfast ...
8.0 / 10.0
Comfortable room with kitchenette and ensuite shower room, decorated and furnished in rural French shabby chic. The private outdoor terrace area was a lovely place to sit in the evening. COVID restrictions meant that breakfast was not served, but juice and yoghurt, butter and jams were provided and the owner delivered fresh bread and croissants in the morning to compensate.
No hot water in the bathroom in the morning. Cold shower only.....
