Peaceful stay in Kandy

We booked this place 1 hour before the arrival, as the initial hotel we booked in Kandy was absolutely horrible despite the good reviews. However, this place was magical. It is on top of a mountain, and you get the most amazing views and complete peace and silence, which is not guaranteed in the city. Even though we booked just 1 hour before arriving, the room was perfectly made, and the staff was extremely kind, welcoming, and accommodating to all our wishes. The food was super delicious, and it was beautiful to wake up with the views of the sunrise. If staying in Kandy, I would definitely suggest staying here.

Everything was great, and if something wasn't, it got fixed immediately. As we were traumatized by the horrible hotel we had to leave, we were very picky. As Sri Lanka is extremely humid, sometimes elements in the bathroom can discolor. We asked if something could be done about it, and the staff immediately changed the silicon in our shower while we were having lunch. So if something might be wrong, you are guaranteed to be taken care of and not worry about anything. Wifi was also a bit weak, so this might not be a place if you need to do some work while on vacation.

we’d gladly come back to this propert to get away from busy city life to relax and unwind ourselves with nature.

we upgraded to the wooden chalet and we’re happy we went ahead with it. The hospitality is truly commendable, special mention Mr. Chulan he ensured that the service was top notch. Property is well maintained, services better than a five star and food was finger licking.

Tranquil and beautiful, I could have happily stayed here forever.

This was such a tranquil place and we are so happy we started our holiday staying here, the staff were all lovely and helpful and our personal butler Kazum was an absolute star, such a lovely helpful man who just couldn’t do enough for us.

The entire property is steeped in history and has kept its authentic original charm, the only thing we could mention was the TV either didn’t work or needed instructions for me to understand, and blue tooth speakers in the room might be a nice touch, the shower was a little difficult to set the temperature and needed a gentle touch, but this is being very picky and didn’t affect our stay.

Peaceful retreat with great views, food and high quality service

Loved the peaceful ambiance, the lovely and attentive staff, the grounds are perfect to read or write a novel, inspired by the views and fresh air but also fun with a lovely Pool and great food. We stayed in one of the cabins and it was super spacious, modern amenities, and a very comfortable bed and outdoor balcony. Nature all around, even monkeys and vegetation filled with different bird sounds. We loved the dinner and wine and the views. Other guests were very pleasant and the staff took care of us from the moment we arrived.

Nothing. It was lovely. Perhaps worth noting that the property is above the city so walking down the mountain (which makes the views beautiful) is not possible or would take long. Easy by car.

Beautiful ambiance, in the middle of the nature, beautiful view, friendly and helpful staff, the most beautiful room we’ve had during our trip.

Immaculate property with first rate food & service

This is a very special place nestled in the hills above Kandy The garden & bungalow are immaculate. The food & service were first rate. The rooms were comfortable & classic. We were incredibly well looked after -I hope we can return next time we’re in Sri Lanka!

Very impressive and memorable hotel

The hotel is a lovely restored colonial villa surrounded by modern, but rustic bungalows. Breakfast and meals were very good. Staff was very helpful. The location is in the hills above the city, so walkable dining options are limited. But tuk-tuks to the center of the city are easy and cheap. Lots of fauna and wildlife. Bungalows are large and comfortable. Grounds of the hotel are beautiful.

Not necessarily a negative, but the hotel has a beautiful, enticing infinity pool overlooking the city. But given the hilltop location, the water is not warm as one might expect.
