The unique and private athmosphere of the place was really special. This place is a bit like a svares time capsule.
Communication could be better (we only speak English), and we missed a small fridge, but then again. The place is so special that you wouldn’t really want for it to chance. It is a consevationist project and you wouldn’t expect current time luxury in a place like this.

I love the rich history and photography. This place is so unique, truly a gem of culture and art. Highly recommended

Shower did not work well, could not control temperature

The room was beautiful. High wooden ceiling, unique, rustic furnishings, view to garden. Staff were very friendly, professional, helpful and kind. Nice shower with hot water.
Wifi was very inconsistent and we couldn’t get cell data on our phones in this location so this was frustrating for us. The location isn’t bad, but in retrospect I would have preferred to be closer to the main tourist street and zocalo. I felt a little uneasy walking back to the hotel at night. Not a big deal for us but I thought the restaurant on the premises would be open for dinner but it wasn’t.

the hotel is a gorgeous museum of regional history and culture with a huge garden out back with meandering pathways. the restaurant is excellent — try the Chiapas specialty Pach-Ha breakfast caldo! absolutely delicious. also the fireplace in my room was an incredible luxury and the bathroom was very nice. the staff were incredibly helpful.
the mattress had a plastic covering and was not soft, and the bed was a foot away from the wall so you can’t read in bed.

Beautiful little hotel full of history. Excellent staff and breakfast. Really a peaceful oasis.

Breakfast was good, but tables are outside, which in the freezing February temperature makes it difficult to enjoy it.
The room has a fireplace, but helps not much to raise the temperature.
The various courtyards and the small museum are interesting - lots of history there.
Installations including bathroom fixtures are old and in bad shape. There is much humidity and bad smell.

It is a beautiful building with an interesting history. It has its own museum.

Staying here was like a dream come true. Living in a beautiful hacienda/museum, breakfast on the patio, helpful staff. Casa Na Bolom is the legacy of Trudy and Frans Blom, this is more than a hotel.
No complaints. Nada.

The building and its traditions and displays are charming.
The room was comparable to staying in a cheap hostel.

Plenty of history. Amazing high ceilings, with wooden beams. Breakfast was excellent, and staff was polite andfriendly.

Design - it’s truly authentic and ‘boutique’, you really live inside museum and historical building, with nice patios! One of gate guardians - Don Raul - speaks good English (others staff not that much though). Fireplace with firewood adds some cosiness (and also practical, as nights are cold here in December)
Very short time of running hot water during shower and in the night it was only cold one. Not sure about bedbugs - as I got bites from some insects in the morning. Wear and tear apparently, also noises from road and from corridors are heard

Intensely interesting museum-library-study center-hotel. Comfortable bed, excellent housekeeping, gracious breakfast waiter, and gracious spaces. At one edge of the central old city, with a big wandering garden. Excellent price. Good help with airport taxi to Tuxtla. We are two old men, a married couple, and the welcome felt real. I hope we can return and stay longer.
The street noise from Calle Frans Blom beyond the garden can get pretty loud early in the morning and all day, but it calms down reliable at night. The drains in the bathroom had a strong smell, though the bathroom and the room itself were immaculately clean.

I stayed in a room with fire pit and a jacuzzi/bath. It was excellent to be able to lite a fire every night! The people that work there are great and the space was full of history and class.
The bed is a little too firm for me (and I love firm beds!) and there was a weird smell that would come and go from the bathroom.

Great atmosphere. Loved the rustic cabins in the “Forrest” with daily firewood and a fireplace.
Only criticism I have was the curtain did not fully cover the window, leaving a lack of privacy in the room. There wasn’t many people and a lot of plants outside so it didn’t really bother me but would have been nice to be able to completely block the window when changing clothes or sleeping.

Wonderful breakfast. We stayed 7 nights and always looked forward to starting the day with Na Bolom's simple menu of local and Mexican favorites.
Our family felt strangely at home in this property. It was like living in San Cristobal 80 years ago. Two beautiful courtyards, amazing artifacts everywhere, and a garden to catch fireflies in at night.
Our room had no Wifi at the beginning. So we just used the restaurant area to connect. The hotel ran an extender to our room the day after we mentioned it. We did not even care to have wifi in our room. It forced us to enjoy this wonderful property and meet other guests.
Nights are chilly. Fireplaces are in each room, but no heating. Instead you get 3 or 4 locally made world-class wood blankets to stay cozy.
Our 11 year old daughter loved the property, spotty wifi and all. Na Bolom is a magical property for those who want to make a deeper connection to life and the world around us.

The Hotel Na Bolom should be on everyone’s list of places to see before you die. This may be the best place I’ve ever staid in my well traveled life. The place is beautiful and peaceful. You are likely to meet a archeologist in the research library or some other interesting traveler The food is also very fresh much of it from the garden. It is also very quiet
That I didn’t stay longer

Gorgeous hotel, big room, jacuzzi tub and a nice fireplace. Hotel arranged pick up and drop off at the airport (extra charge) but worth it to not have to think about getting from Tuxla to San Cristobal. Be prepared as it is about 1 1/2 hours to get there.
This hotel is beautiful, the food is good, it is sparkling clean and the staff was excellent, friendly and helpful! The room was gorgeous and I got the king suite because of the huge bathrub, which I used every day. It was cool and they had a space heater in the room. It was very quiet and has a beautiful garden behind the hotel which is not to be missed. It is about 8 blocks to the pedestrian walkway on Real Guadalupe so very convenient and if it rained it was easy to get a taxi. The only thing that was not good for me was the bed. Super hard, which is common in Mexico but really difficult to get comfortable and sleep well for a person who likes pillowtop mattresses.
