ABOUT THE AREA:
The house is in east Old Town- best neighborhood in Chicago for both families or if you are looking to have fun. While the street itself is very quiet, tree lined and barely has cars passing by, as soon as you turn the corner, you are in the center of everything! Lincoln Park with the zoo, farm, pond, open spaces and farmers market is a 7-10 min. walk. North avenue beach is the same distance. It is perfect for walks, picnics, boat rides or good old fun in the sand. The beaches are free to the public and have breathtaking city views. Grocery shopping is made easy, seeing as Dom Market and Jewel are located right in the neighborhood. Nearby coffee shops include a 24 hour Starbucks and La Fournette. There are 103 restaurants within a 15 minute walk including some of Chicago's top restaurants including Kamehachi, Topo Gigio, Happy Camper, The Fireplace Inn, and Woodies Flat. Bars and lounges are abundant on Wells and are all 1-2 minute walk. Shopping in Old Town is a unique experience; the majority of shops in this neighborhood are boutiques rather than well-known chain stores. Therefore, each and every store is cozy, intimate and filled with one-of-a-kind goods. The Lincoln Park Zoo is a world of wildlife in the shadow of skyscrapers. Located within a verdant park just minutes north of Chicago, the zoo has been a natural, free oasis for generations of animal lovers, who visit the zoo to hear a lion’s roar echo off nearby apartment buildings, see gorillas climb trees as the Willis Tower looms in the distance, or forget where they are as they immerse themselves in tropical rainforests, dry-thorn forests or spacious savannas. We invite you to visit the wildest spot in Chicago, where each year millions of guests marvel at wild wonders as they play and learn. Free and open every day of the year, Lincoln Park Zoo has something for everyone. Meet animals from around the world, relax among Chicago’s most-visited gardens and join us for exciting daily programs and events. The Steppenwolf Theater, located just a few blocks away from the property, operates as a not-for-profit organization relying on community support to produce, presents up to 16 plays and nearly 700 performances, readings and other events every year on three stages. The theater’s artistic and educational programs draw a multi-generational audience of nearly 200,000 from the greater metropolitan Chicago area, while their impact reaches well beyond this region with productions that tour nationally and internationally. The Second City is another nearby theater that specializes in sketch comedy and improv, and has been delighting audiences for over 50 years. They have had many famous comedians perform at the theater over the years. They have comedy shows seven nights a week on 4 stages; the shows consist of short scenes, songs, and improvised comedy sketches. Cocktails and food are available throughout the show. Get ready to laugh! Oak street and beginning of Michigan avenue is about 15-20 minute walk.
GETTING AROUND:
The house is a six minute walk from the Brown Line and the Purple Line at the Sedgwick stop and an eight minute walk from Red line at Clark. It takes be about 15 min to walk to Michigan Ave and Wells street bars are a minute away. Buses and cabs are also easily accessible. It is about a 3 minute drive to get onto Lake Shore drive at LaSalle and about 8 minutes to Kennedy expressway at North Avenue.
The house is best for bachelor, bachelorette and friend groups as well as business travelers. It is not child proof.

12 of us comfortably stayed here for a summer weekend in Chicago. Great location!
4.6
The location was phenomenal, we walked to the zoo, the beach, 2 different L stations, 2 different grocery stores, parks, and plenty of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. The house was clean, and the kids with us loved the handful of toys in the house.
As described, it's near the L, which we were worried about the nose, but it wasn't as loud as the air conditioner in the living room that was extra loud. The house had a few issues on our check in day, but the owner was amazingly responsive trying to get them all resolved as fast as possible. Overall it was great for a large group, with plenty of chairs and a huge table we all did around, but the galley kitchen wasn't a chef's kitchen, it worked for basic breakfasts but got quickly crowded trying to cook an actual meal on the main floor because you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the backyard and lovely sunroom/deck. The basement kitchen is tiny, fine for basics, but definitely not a kitchen for chefs. The house is older and has some quirks to be expected with such. The bedrooms have sheer curtains, so the sun wakes you early if you're in the room at the front of the house. If you are looking for a great location to explore Chicago without needing a car, and are ok with fun old houses, this is your place. If you need everything to be perfectly new and modern, and would be bothered by small things like mismatched grout colors, this is not the place for you.

Great communication! we've stayed at VRBO all over the nation for volleyball teams but she's the FIRST EVER to come meet and greet us! She kept in constant almost daily emails checking up on us to see if we had everything we needed! The location was great for the Navy Pier VB tournament and if you ever stay for the Arts Festival - GREAT locale! Felt very safe walking around the area to coffee shops, parks, etc. Lots of beds, lots of towels! Kitchen layout great! Having upstairs and downstairs fridges helped with storing food for later meals! Am looking forward to booking this location when we come back in the future for upcoming Navy Pier VB Tournaments!
Mahalo!

Stayed with 10 friends for the weekend. Clean unit with plenty of beds. Listing and pictures are accurate. Great location close to bars, restaurants, and train stop. Property manager was very responsive. Very easy check-in/check-out.

We enjoyed our time here. Everything was relatively easy and the neighborhood was great. They definitely nickel and dime you for early/late check in but it’s all disclosed up front. I would rent here again.

The house and location was perfect for our group trip to Chicago. Ample rooms and beds for everyone, and host was extremely responsive throughout the process and our stay.
Walking distance to a bunch of great restaurants and bars. Would definitely stay again!

Great property with plenty of room and amenities. Excellent location and communication with host. Awesome!

Was a great location to stay and reconnect with friends

We booked this house for a long weekend in Chicago for our family of 8. The house was clean and comfortable, exactly as described in the posting. The host was amazing. We really enjoyed the neighborhood, it was quiet and walking distance to lots of restaurants. We had a wonderful stay!
4.6
This is not a great property. The host is very challenging to work with. During our stay the host had other workers entering the property grounds with us knowing causing safety concerns. I raised this issue with the host and she just blow me off. The house is not a 5 bedroom 4 bath. It is 3 bedroom in the main house and an a seperate apartment that you have to leave the house to get too. The home is old and the shower in the apartment does not get cold. I informed the host of this. After all of here outside workers had been on the grounds I didn’t want anyone else accessing the home.

We had a great time celebrating in Chicago. Our family of 17 was able to enjoy all parts of the city. This property worked out well for everyone. Owner was very helpful. Nice area and very walkable.
4.6
Everything was extremely easy. Owner gave very thorough instructions and had an abundance of everything, from dishware to blankets. Very good communication throughout. Highly recommend.

Came for a wedding with a large group of 16 adults around the age of 30. We all fit comfortably at the house with plenty of space in the shared areas like kitchen, dining, and living rooms. The rooms, beds, and futons are exactly as listed and was able to accommodate all of us.
The location is 10/10!!! Walkable to many coffee shops, restaurants, and bars. Very cute neighborhood

I went with a group of friends to Chicago and this was a wonderful stay! The location was perfect and very walkable to local bars and restaurants. There was plenty of space for us to spread out and be comfortable. The host was very responsive from the moment I booked and even after I left.
4.6
This property was perfect for a large group (we had 20). It's in a great location. We could easily walk to many bars/restaurants. Inna was great and easy to communicate with. No complaints. Everyone in the group was very pleased with the property.

and stay in what looks like a crack house from the outside, this property is for you. The prettied up photos do not accurately convey the shoddy experience you are about to have at this property. When you roll up with your guests, you will first be greeted by severely peeling paint all over the front of the house and the stairs, showing the avoidance of basic maintenance that the owners put in.
The issues don't stop there. As others have mentioned, the AC noise precludes having a conversation in the main living area. How about changing some filters, host? The curtain rods are loose and ready to fall down and smash someone's head. The hot water is good for 10-15 min before turning ice cold...how does that work for "sleeps up to 16"? There are side panels held up with scotch tape (VRBO has no way to attach photos of all the above, but trust me I have them). Finally, the garage door was incredibly unreliable and janky, giving up the ghost when I tried to press the button to close it. Instead of apologizing for the obviously weather corroded, beyond service life doors (I have the photos to prove), she tried to say it was "user error" because I pressed the button to close the garage door and it fell apart. Wow, the gall.
Alas...it gets worse. The L literally shakes the lower rooms, the light of train shooting thru the master bedroom's cheap transparent curtains and the sound torturing all of your guests awake every 5-10 min. You were warned.
4.6
Great neighborhood. Spacious property. Great communication with property manager.
4.6
I was on a youth trip with teens from my church, learning and doing service projects around Chicago. This was a perfect home base for us to come back to and hang out. Space was comfortable for youth and adult chaperones. Easy to access from the L or to drive - having a garage was a huge plus! (though it was a tight fit for a mini van + a small SUV - but I suppose that can only be expected from a place in the city like this)
4.6
The house accommodated about 15 adults comfortably (sharing beds) and the location was excellent for exploring Chicago. Communication with the host was quick and informative. Thank you!
4.6
Our stay was great. The house was exactly as pictured. We had 13 people stay comfortably. And the neighborhood was a great area with plenty to walk to.
4.6
Our group of 7 friends had a great time in Chicago. Very close to plenty of restaurants in old towne, and a short drive/ride away from everything else in Chicago.
4.6
We had a wonderful Stay . really enjoyed the courtyard an everything was spotless . Inna was a great host. The only issue the lower level you cannot access the upper floors without going outside. It was difficult for elderly to navigate the steps .
4.6
We had a very positive stay at this property in Old Town Chicago.
4.6
We had a great stay! We had 18 in our group and slept comfortably sharing beds and using a couple of the provided floor mattresses. Inna was a great host and responded quickly! It is an older home as described with some old home quirks. We loved the location!
4.6
Awesome property for family get together. Great area in Chicago
4.6
Had a bachelor party with 17 adults. Location was perfect for bars and restaurants. The property was also very nice and accommodating for what we needed. 5 out of 5, would and will come back again!
4.6
Great location, within walking distance to lots of restaurants and not far from tourist attractions. The host was great, communicative and timely with responses and information. The house is a little older than anticipated but clean and comfortable. In retrospect, given the location, available parking, and the amount of people the house sleeps, the price point is amazing. Not to mention pet friendly. This is a great value for group stays!!
4.6
Stayed at the place with all of the wedding party the night before the morning wedding for ease. Check-in was very easy and the host was very prompt with messages and replies. It was a lovely place in a nice neighborhood.
4.6
Had a good weekend
4.6
A wonderful way to cozy up in the Chicago Winter. Close to everything and imagine it would be great in the summer when you could enjoy the summer porch!
4.6
The location was awesome - walkable to a lot of bars and restaurants and we felt safe the whole time. The host was very helpful and responsive. The only downsides are the lighting in the rooms wasn’t very bright and you can hear the train pretty well in the back master bedroom. Earplugs did help with that! Overall this house was perfect for our group of girls.
4.6
Great location. Clean and well equipped. House has some wear on it, but overall was a good rental for our family reunion. Everything was as stated by host.
4.6
I took a group of High School students here. There were 14 of us in all. Plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. Everything is as described. Great neighborhood.
4.6
We were very excited to go to our place since it is a reunion. It was a huge place, very clean. Accomodating for all of us. But then suddenly, we have to send all our ID's, I sent the first ones then the owner called me and told me that she's coming to get our ID's told her we went outside and we can just send it to her. She still came over to the house and take a picture of each our ID. Then she said someone will be coming over if not and left. All of us were shocked. I have to admit, when she's calling me we were outside and roaming around in Chicago. Hope next time this will not happen.
It's a nice place although the policy is a lil bit too much.
4.6
She was very communicative and met us at the property to ensure we had Eve try thing that we needed. She was very responsive and helpful during the whole stay!
4.6
Our family of eleven, age 3-73, had a wonderful stay. We walked to restaurants, the beach, and the zoo. We had family breakfasts together, easily finding everything we needed in the kitchen. We had plenty of room to spread out, some staying up late, some waking early without bothering each other. The house is noisy though. The train starts running at 5AM right outside the master bedroom, and the AC ventilation fan was very obtrusive. It turned five stars to four.
4.6
The neighborhood was nice. Places to walk to and find Food and Drink. Second City Comedy is a short walk away. The people in my group were work associates so some aren' t comfortable "sharing" a room. Even though there are lots of beds some are doubled up in rooms. For our group of 7 people it was perfect. The amenities were fine and we enjoyed our stay. Would consider it again.
4.6
Our stay in Old Town was fantastic. The house, although an older home, is clean and nice. The small outdoor space in the back was perfect. Our teenagers loved the downstairs space for themselves and our younger kids stayed in the main house with my husband and me. The neighborhood is very much full of young people and dogs which we loved. As a big family, we did feel a little out of place, but it wouldn’t deter me from renting the place again. It was a short trip to all the fun places to see in Chicago. Loved the stay!!

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION
We wanted to spend the week in the city and this property allowed us to be close to everything. Perfect price for the location and for a family of 19!

Great time!!
All worked out great and everyone had fun and felt like they were at home! Thank you for the hospitality.
