Monterosso al Mare - CASA DEL PESCATORE is a beautiful newly constructed free standing house, not an apartment building, designed by an architect, centrally located, very private and quiet.
It’a a complete package of comfort and location, ideally situated for exploring all that the 5 TERRE area has to offer.
Its located in the old village ( historical centre ) at the biginning of the famous hiking BLUE TRAIL along the coast to the 5 TERRE, just 30 meters from the sandy main beaches ( free or equipped ) in the heart of Monterosso, 2 minutes to the pier where boats leave for the other villages, 10 minutes to the train station and walking distance to Monterosso’s attractions: restaurants, bars, shops, markets, main square where you can also enjoy an aperitivo..
It’s divided in 2 floors:
LOWER LEVEL – Living room fitted with flat-screen TV, bathroom with shower and free toiletries, small-fully equipped kitchen with appliances, cookwake, dinneware and all of the culinary items needed for your stay, washing machine. Laundry facilities are also inluded.
Interior stairs lead to the sleeping area
1ST LEVEL - 2 bedrooms have king mattress that can be converted to 2 twins ( on request ).
WI-FI, air conditioning / heating system in both floors.
This house has a charmingly ligurian character and is perfect to accommodate couples, singles,or families of 3 or 4 to return year after year to enjoy all of the best of 5 Terre.
Owners are locals and live here, ready to help you 24/7 If you need anything before, douring or after your stay.

Near everything, perfect size for a family of three, and lovely host who was always easy to find. Will definitely book again!

I want to be careful and honest about this review, from a Midwestern American’s POV. My adult daughter and I traveled to Montessori in late May of 2024. We stayed here for two nights. The location is exceptional. It’s quiet and off to the side, yet within easy walking distance of wonderful places to visit. It is near the Blue path, which was incredible.
The hostess was as communicative, responsive and kind as one could ever hope for.
The house itself is charming and small- but makes good use of its space. We love staying in places like this because we can unwind in rooms that are not the bedroom. Free Wi-fi and a nice TV for the few moments we weren’t enjoying the wonders of the location.
The mornings were wonderful- just outside our window we could see lemons and limes weighing down the trees. We could hear the sounds of Italian children chattering on their way to school. It was good for the soul.
I would call staying here “glamping”- at its very finest.

The little beach house was the perfect location for going to town, going to the beach, and getting to the train station. We were there over 2 weeks and was able to have a home base while exploring other towns and hikes.

My wife, young son and I stayed at this beautiful cute little house just steps away from the beach in Monterosso al Mare.
The hostess, Ms. Mariagrazia, was exceptionally friendly, helpful and warm. She made us feel very welcome immediately. Throughout our stay, we would reach out to her and she would respond reasonably quick with helpful advice. She owns a store that is steps away from the house so speaking with her in person or via phone/text was easy.
The location of this house is probably the best selling point. It is steps away from the beach and is a great access point to it.
The house itself is cute.
There is a small living area downstairs with a small bathroom for the entire house. The bathroom is reasonable. The shower is a little tiny but it was not that big a deal for us. There is a small kitchen with reasonable cookware. The place was quite clean and tidy.
The living area and two bedrooms upstairs each have an air conditioning unit. They are functional and they work well which was needed during the time we were there (July).
Upstairs, there are 2 bedrooms each with 1 double bed. The living area has a good-sized TV and the Internet, via Wi-Fi, was fast and reliable for our purposes.
We really enjoyed our stay here! The biggest selling points were the great location and Mariagrazia. We would easily stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay here! The location was great since it was off the beaten path, but close to the beach, shopping & restaurants.
Mariagrazia was very helpful when we got there and also helped us figure out where things were in the village.

Avery beautiful little fisherman’s house. Right in the village. It was also right beside hiking path. Nothing short of wonderful. Mariagracia was a kind help soul. I hope to stay again. One thing, staircase is steep so able body needed.

Excellent location just off the main piazza, quiet side street, very safe.
2 bedrooms on 2nd floor are clean minimalist design with fresh clean linens, opening windows, and ample space for luggage and the double beds.
House is quaint, small, but perfect for the 2 of us ladies for a few nights; kitchen is well supplied, washer worked great! No dryer but there is an excellent outside rack and pins.
Walk to restaurants and beach is 5 mins, you can hear the waves from the bedrooms.
Owner is lovely, helpful, and speaks English well. We loved our stay!

The location of this apartment is amazing, with everything within walking distance. Apartment was clean, terrace had a great view and made a nice place to relax in the evening with a glass of wine. Washing machine was also available for use. Our host Gaia was fantastic, very kind and helpful. We couldn’t have found a better host or location. Cute and comfortable house
Super cute and cozy little house in a great location at the edge of the old town. Just a few minutes walk down to the beach and about a 10-minute walk from the train station. Easy check in and out by the hostess, who was very kind and always available if we had any questions. We loved the easy going vibe of Monterosso and would happily return to this house for a stay!

Mariagrazia is a fantastic host. The location is amazing - right in the historic section of Monterrosso al Mare. Great restaurants nearby, the sound of church bells on the hour, right next to the steps to the Vernazza/Cinque Terre trail, and a 5 minute walk to the free beach. The accommodations were great - excellent working air-conditioning and washer. We highly recommend this place to any staying in Cinque Terre.

Wonderful House
My 2 daughters and I stayed here. A 7-10 minute walk from the train stop. The house has clean and comfortable. Kitchen was equipped. The hostess was amazing. She is super friendly. She owns a shop in town where we met. She walked us over to the house and showed us around. It is steps from the beach. Just perfect for 3-4 people. I suppose 1-2 more could sleep on the couch.

Clean and modern
We were very tired upon arriving at the train station and had a hard time orienting ourselves but Mariagracia was very kind and patient! Just turn left when you exit the station and head for the tunnel! The little house is so nice and they have been very smart about using the space. The stairs to the bedrooms are very narrow so just beware. If you are someone who needs to get up for the bathroom during the night, it may be difficult. The only things we wish it had were hand soap, extra tp and some hooks/ racks for towels. But there are very minor and we loved the proximity to the beach and many cafes!

Perfect place by the beach
This was the perfect little place our family of four! It was close to everything (beach, trail, restaurants and shops)! Our host Mariagrazie was lovely, she even got me ice when I sprained my ankle on the cobblestones (be careful and don’t miss any steps!). We had a great stay and will recommend to others visiting.

Our host Maria Grazia was super helpful and a very nice lady she had a shop nearby and answered all the questions that we had. When you arrive Mariagrazia will greet you like family! She was so lovely and helpful to give us recommendations and help us storing our bags after checkout. The place is clean and very central location, and Monterosso is definitely our favorite of the 5 towns. Would stay again!

Perfect location with outstanding customer service
We loved this apartment. It is in the perfect location, right next to the hiking trail to Vernazza. The train station is only a 5 minute walk away. Mariagrazia is a wonderful host who was very helpful before and during our trip. Her English is very good and she knows everything about Cinque Terre. I recommend Mariagrazia's apartment to everyone who wants to see Cinque Terre

We were very happy with this home it was in a lovely area of old town and very convenient right off of the center area. Our host Maria Grazia was super helpful and a very nice lady she had a shop nearby and answered all the questions that we had. Our family of 4 loved her home. Highly recommend if you are planning to travel to Monterroso. Host was very gracious. Mariagrazia communicated prior to our arrival and gave us excellent directions on where to meet. She took time to walk us to the house and told us everything we needed to know regarding the town and our stay .Her home has everthing you will need and is very clean and comfortable.Her home is steps away from hiking trails, beach and Old Town Square.We hope to travel again to Monterosso and this is the best place to stay. Thanks again to host for her kindness ,hope to be back soon .

Cute little unit, close to the old town centre, rail station and walking trail.
We loved our stay at the cute and cozy Borgo Antico and the village of Monterosso al mare. The unit is as pictured and had everything for a comfortable stay for two. Mariagrazia and her sister were very helpful and easy to communicate with. Access to the upper floor bedrooms is a bit steep and narrow stairs and could be an issue if you are not that agile, but it was not an issue for us.
I would highly recommend staying there and would love to come back again.

We loved our stay at the cute and cozy Borgo Antico and the village of Monterosso al mare. The unit is as pictured and had everything for a comfortable stay for two. Mariagrazia and her sister were very helpful and easy to communicate with. Tiny but perfect
Mariagrazia was a lovely host, greeting us, checking us in, showing us all the details of the apartment. It's very tiny but very well designed to maximize space. The location is perfect because it's just around the corner from high-traffic areas, but still quiet. There was a perfect hot, forceful shower. Also good WIFI. Those things are important to me.

Great place to stay in Monterosso
We booked this apartment as a home base for our stay in the Cinque Terre area. Highly recommend this apartment! It was exactly as advertised. Only steps from the main square of the Old Town, yet still nice and quiet. Well-equipped with everything we needed. Steps from the beach, shops, restaurants, 2 minutes to the ferry stop and an easy 10 minute walk to the train station - very convenient for all the town-hopping we wanted to do for the week we were there. Our host, Mariagrazia gave us some great recommendations during our visit. This location serves as a very comfortable, very convenient home base during your time in Cinque Terre.

Perfect base to explore cinque terre
Mariagrazia was an amazing host. Very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Set in the old Town section of Montersso a short walk to the train station.
The unit has everything you need and the beds are super comfortable.
Pack a small bag as only locals can get a car in town and you will have to carry your luggage the 800m or so to/from the car park above town.
