About this apartment rental
Located 2-3 MINS WALK TO THE BEACH. A contemporary ground floor apartment with direct access to a large garden, in an imposing property within walking distance of Croyde beach and the village centre. Ideally situated in the village of Croyde, famed for its surf and ideal for children. Saunton sands, south of Croyde, backed by the Burrows nature reserve and famous Saunton golf club is a short car ride away. Villages such as Lynton and Lynmouth and the walkers paradise Watersmeet, are only a short drive away. LORNA DOONE 2 is located in an extremely desirable position on Moor Lane, only a two minutes stroll from the beach and just a short walk into the quaint and picturesque ‘chocolate box’ village of Croyde. Croyde itself boasts village stores, a post office, thatched pubs, restaurants, tearooms and surf shops.
The apartment is light and spacious, ideal for one large family or two smaller families. As this is a ground floor apartment, LORNA DOONE 2 also appeals to those who would rather not have the inconvenience of stairs.
The stylish and trendy open plan kitchen, dining room and living room is light and spacious, with two sets of double glazed patio doors that lead out onto a private decked area with canopied sun terrace and steps leading down to the garden beyond. There is a wooden dining table adjacent to the kitchen, providing plenty of space for 6 people. The lounge area is fully carpeted and boasts contemporary furniture in coordinating colours. There are two fabric sofas and two easy chairs that enable guests to relax in comfort. The entertainment hardware includes a TV and stereo system (CD, radio and audio tape), as well as inclusive WiFi internet access.
Limed oak units with a light laminate work surface help to increase the feeling of space in this open plan room. The layout has been well thought out, and appliances include a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, built in electric oven and hob, microwave, 2 slice toaster and kettle. There is a plentiful supply of glassware, coordinating crockery and cooking utensils.
There are 3 bedrooms all accessed from the central hallway.
Bedroom 1 is the master double bedroom with en-suite. Decor is simple yet elegant.
Bedroom 2 is a bright and airy charming twin bedroom, with wooden beds and storage space.
Bedroom 3 contains adult-sized pine bunk beds, chest of drawers and a mirror.
The fully tiled family bathroom with slate grey tiles has a really modern feel. The shower is separate from the bath in its own cubicle. The white suite also includes a pedestal wash basin with polished chrome taps, low level WC and a good sized bath, perfect for relaxing in aromatic bubbles after a day at the beach. Bedroom 1 has an en suite shower room.
There is dedicated parking for two cars on a level driveway. LORNA DOONE 2 is set in its own grounds, surrounded on two sides by a large flat lawn, the size of two tennis courts, perfect for enjoying the late afternoon sun. The grounds are a great social space, available to all guests to dine al fresco or simply just relax and unwind in the sunshine. A BBQ is provided.

Perfect Spring Break...
A lovely 3 bed flat, plenty of room for two adults and three children, only a few minutes walk from the beach and our car stayed firmly parked from the moment we arrived until the end of the trip. Very much enjoyed the time out and look forward to returning soon.

Week stay in April
The location is perfect, very close to the beach and to the village centre.
The apartment is nicely laid out, a good kitchen with a good outdoor area. In April it was always warm and the water was always hot.
We had a lovely time and would come again.

Glorious week in Croyde
Great apartment and an ideal location for the beach & the village. Having a veranda & direct access to the garden is a real plus point. Lovely light decor. My family of 5 had plenty of space . Would definitely come back here.

Nice quiet place
Large living/dining room/kitchen, small bedrooms. Easy parking, walking distance to beach. Minor flaws: Noisy bathroom fans are combined with the light and run for a while after the light is switched off. No proper towel hangers in en-suite bathroom. Terrace would have been nice, but temperatures were too low (not owner‘s responsibility;-).

Fantastic location, lovely comfortable accommodation, in lovely grounds too. Great for families.
We had such a great time, so close to the beach, and yet so comfortable that we were happy to stay at apartment, everything has been thought through...comfortable beds, clean, tidy, nothing too much trouble...owners straight round when we couldn’t get tv to work! Barbecue, lovely gardens, books, games and everything you need to chill.the only sad thing is we have to wait another year before we can return!

Lovely location but definitely not a "luxury" apartment
We booked as a family for a weekend break in October and whilst we loved Croyde and the location of the apartment we were very disappointed by the overall management of the booking and the apartment itself.
Communication was poor, I had to ask several times for a contact number in case of emergencies as the owner was apparently in Brazil and had left nothing by way of communication before leaving, it took some time to track someone down.
The apartment itself needed some TLC. All of the cutlery, crockery, and glassware was filthy and we had to wash everything before use as it was sticky to touch. Possibly not helped by a seemingly broken dishwasher. Whilst not averse to a bit of washing up this is not what was expected nor advertised.
One of the heaters in the main bedroom had a loose electrical socket because the plug was not screwed together properly, exposing electrics so not ideal for children of which we had 2 (toddlers) with us.
Also not child-friendly was the lack of gate on the decking which leads to a steep drop off and steps which is not ok for young children. The other ground floor apartments had gates so I am not sure what had happened here, it meant that we constantly had to watch them on the deck rather than just let them play. Which leads to the advertised "games and toys", one Jenga style game and 2 card games or at least that was all we found on the shelves which is poor if advertising (another) facility that barely exists.
One of the lampshades in room two was hanging off and not in anyway fixed, no full length mirror, no hairdryer (which would be helpful) and all of the furniture seems to be from Ikea. Nothing wrong with Ikea but this is NOT luxury.
The owners had mentioned a broken tile in the bathroom which had been temporarily fixed (badly) but the bathrooms themselves needed a total overhaul. One of the walls in the main bathroom seems to have been recently updated possibly for pictures but the remainder was fairly awful.
Lastly, my husband trod on some glass in the kitchen, thankfully him and not one of the children. When I relayed this back to the owner there was little by way of response.
The space and location of the apartment is lovely but the owners clearly don't look after it and to market it as luxury is totally inappropriate.
I would go back to Croyde but definitely stay somewhere else, such a shame.

Lovely and spacious ground floor flat in Croyde Bay
My husband and daughter stayed in this flat in July this year. They found it to be exactly as described. Clean, spacious and near the beaches, great decking area with BBQ and walking distance to the centre. We will no doubt return as a family as the stay was a success. Their only negative observation is the beds were not very comfortable.
The owners were easy to communicate with. Nice to deal with them.
However, feedback for Owners Abroad: Not so easy too communicate with. We had problems making the reservation on line and it appeared on screen that this accommodation was full for our dates, when in fact it wasn't. We asked Owners Abroad for help and they eventually helped, but made 2 reservations for us instead of the one we requested. There was quite a bit of chasing on our behalf. Owners Abroad did not make it easy and straight forward.
Highly recommend this accommodation!
Thank you.

Great location, perfect holiday retreat for a family.
I searched the internet for ages, trying to find the perfect location to the town and the beach, wanting easy access for both. We took our own 2 teenage children and both took a friend. They were in surf school each day and loved the access to the beach and the town. My husband and I enjoyed the local area and managed to cycle some miles, particularly enjoying the Tarka Trail. When we arrived at the house we discovered a problem with the fridge, which was quickly resolved and Tracey and David were helpful from the first point of contact. We had the most amazing week and will have lovely memories of a special holiday in Devon. The location of the apartment is perfect.
