About this cottage rental
A delightful 4 bedroom spacious cottage, set in a beautiful rural setting, with only a short stroll to the village & the beach. A perfect location to discover The Wild Atlantic Way and the beautiful county of Mayo, with it's fish rivers, blue flag beaches, peaceful country lanes to walk or cycle, a world class golf course and with one of Ireland's top visitor's attractions Westport House only a short drive away.
There are few regions in Europe to match the quality of Mayo's beaches and the County is the proud holder of 9 Blue Flag awards.
Killary Harbour is Ireland’s only true fjord and extends 16km (10 miles) in from the Atlantic to its head at Aasleagh, below Aasleagh falls. It forms the border between Galway and Mayo and boasts some of the most spectacular scenery in the west of Ireland.
After this scenic drive treat yourself to lunch at the magnificent Ashford Castle, or Ballynahich Castle, or just enjoy walking round their grounds.
Enjoy the most incredible touring, trekking and walking countryside you could imagine.
Why not take a cruise on Ireland's only Fjord at Killary Harbour, before visiting Kylemore Abbey. Visitors to Louisburgh are continually surprised by the magnificent scenery of the area. Located on the wild Atlantic coast, this lovely remote undiscovered corner of Western Europe boasts safe pollution-free (Blue-Flagg) beaches..
Louisburgh is the focal point of an area some 450 square miles in extent, stretching from Killary Fiord to the South, to the Owenree River to the North, and from the coast to the Erriff valley watershed in the East. All of this landscape is designated as an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Mayo County Development Plan, and calls have been made for its designation as a 'Special Amenity Area'.

We had a fabulous 5 days in Donna's holiday home in Louisburgh . The house was very spacious and very well equipped for our family of 7, we really enjoyed our stay and Donna was very helpful from initial booking to arriving in Louisburgh . The location is amazing and lots to do in the area . Would definitely recommend Donna's holiday home

The property manager was so welcoming! Fresh flowers, local bread and a sweet treat awaited us. Even though we were delayed arriving at the appointed time, our hostess made sure the “hand over” was seemless and she answered all of our questions. She was accessible for questions during our stay and made several great suggestions of destinations in the area. I highly recommend the property. A+

The house is well equipped in some ways - linen, kitchen, etc. but overall starting to look its age so that it's comfortable but certainly not luxurious. Great mattresses, though.Probably good for families. Our one complaint was that it was advertised as having a hot tub which we definitely wanted but it was a mistake in the description.

Clean and adorable home with everything we needed. Check in was clear and host communication was excellent. The home had everything we needed, location was quiet and situated perfectly for climbing Croagh Patrick and exploring Clare Island.

The house was very sunny and bright, clean and had all that we needed. Donna greeted us and showed us every necessary detail. She also had lots of information about the area.

We really enjoyed our 5 nights in Louisburgh. The location is perfect, walking distance from the village high street, and a 5-10min drive to the most amazing beaches. The house is very spacious, perfect also for larger groups, and has all amenities you can wish for. Definitely recommend for families!

Great place!
We stayed there 4 nights with our daughter and son-in-law and 4 year old granddaughter. The home was large and clean, and Donna was easy to work with. We used the home as a base for visiting the sights of the area and would definitely stay there again. Highly recommended. Thank you, Donna!

Lovely home in Beautiful Louisburgh.
Donna is a wonderful host & the six of us enjoyed our 4 nights in Clooncarrabaun. We especially enjoyed the sun filled kitchen each morning before heading out to explore beautiful Mayo & beyond. The village of Louisburgh and the edge of Clew Bay are both a short walk away. The residence of this area are a delight whether they are walking about, helping you in the shops or entertaining you in the Pubs.

September in Louisburgh
Great house and location and Donna, the owner, couldn't have been more helpful.
The house was very clean and comfortable and within strolling distance of a beautiful beach and the village of Louisburgh. It was also a great base for travelling around Mayo and Galway.
We hope to return soon.

Wagners in Luisburg
We had a wonderful stay. The town was welcoming and charming. We even met a dog along our walk who waited for us each morning and evening. The only suggestion we have is for large groups like ours, a more significant amount of hot water is needed. Other than that is was wonderful.

Fabulous experience
Donna was very kind and caring. Had several bouquets of flowers out as well as fresh bread, apples and milk. The cottage is charming and very roomy. It wasn’t easy to find in the dark- would recommend arriving early and ask locals for help even in daylight.

Lovely, Quiet, Relaxing, Comfortable,
My two sisters and I spent four days at this cottage in September and had a lovely time. We recommend it highly. Louisburgh is a small town with a beautiful beach, a charming book shop (both secondhand and new,) and a great art gallery. Westport, which is a large town with great restaurants, is close by, only about 20 minutes away on a short beautiful drive along the coast.

Excellent Vacation Spot to Discover the Wild Atlantic Way
We have just returned from a wonderful vacation in Ireland. We were three ladies travelling and this home gave us each our own room and tons of space to spread out. Donna has thought of everything. The place is immaculate and very well equipped. It didn't hurt that we had fantastic weather while we were there as well. This is the 2nd time we have visited the area and would recommend Louisburgh as a great hub to tour the area. Close to Westport and Croag Patrick and the blue flag beaches along the scenic coast. Would definitely stay there again.

In a word --- FABULOUS!!!
My sisters and I spent a week at this cottage and we all wished it could have been a month. The house was roomy, well-appointed and comfortable. The setting was scenic and peaceful. The location was perfect for day trips to Clare Island, Achill Island, Croagh Patrick, Cong, etc, etc. We were able to walk into town to shop and walk to the beach. I really can't say enough about our time in Louisburgh and in this cottage. We're back home now and wondering "was it a dream?"
